Do I need a destination for the use of JCo?
Hi.
I want to use JCo for a connection between EP7 and ECC6. What I want to do is to use JCo to create an IDoc.
Should I use a destination when creating the JCo client and if so, how do I create the destination? In all examples I have found the destination is for the backend system to communicate with the portal, but I just want the portal to communicate with backend, nothing else.
After logging in to Visual Admin going to "Server > Services" should I then go to "Destinations" or to JCo RFC Provider? I have most often seen the latter and to me that seems to be about a JCo in the other direction than I am interested in.
"Destinations" seem to be the more proper one also regarding the attributes you set but I can't find any documentation for this.
Does anyone know which one to use in the case portal to backend communication and how to configure it?
Regards
Benny
Hi,
you can create this kind of JCO connection in the Webdynpro Content Administrator. This is reachable from the j2ee startpage under "Web dynpro tools"

I have an iPhone4, used and locked to the UK network. I need to pay for the phone to be officially unlocked.
In the meantime we used it as a device to check emails and games etc.. We put a pass lock and after many failed attempts we forgot what it is. Now the phone is Disabled and iTunes can not fix it since it can not update the Software without the phone being officially unlocked..
any idea how to do this?

You need to visit Apple Store, and show ownership proof in case of forgotton pass code. -
Need TCL for the "Use Global Names" checkbox when creating Location(s)
We have a TCL script that creates OWB locations as part of our automated install and build process. Recently we switched to using GLOBAL NAME = TRUE on our databases (to implement Oracle Streams). In order to create a location and successfully register the location in the GUI, we need to manually check the "Use Global Names" checkbox and then enter the fully qualified name to successfully connect and register. We need to be able to code this into our TCL scripts to get this location creation and registration done programmatically, but we've reviewed the API coding guide and found nothing. So far, our SR on Oracle support hasn't turned up much either.
Just wondering if anyone else out there has had any success with locations with Global Names enabled, using TCL...?
And it's: OWB 10gR2.
Thanks,
JimFrom my installation script which deals with databases with both global names settings:
if [string match TRUE $dbGlobalNames] {
OMBCREATE LOCATION '$DATA_LOCATION_NAME' SET PROPERTIES (TYPE, VERSION, DESCRIPTION, BUSINESS_NAME, HOST, PORT, SERVICE, CONNECT_AS_USER, PASSWORD, DATABASE_NAME) VALUES ('ORACLE_DATABASE','$DATA_LOCATION_VERS','ERS Datamart Code User','$DATA_LOCATION_NAME', '$DATA_LOCATION_HOST','$DATA_LOCATION_PORT','$DATA_LOCATION_SRVC', '$DATA_LOCATION_USER','$DATA_LOCATION_PASS','$DATA_LOCATION_SRVC' )
} else {
OMBCREATE LOCATION '$DATA_LOCATION_NAME' SET PROPERTIES (TYPE, VERSION, DESCRIPTION, BUSINESS_NAME, HOST, PORT, SERVICE, CONNECT_AS_USER, PASSWORD) VALUES ('ORACLE_DATABASE','$DATA_LOCATION_VERS','ERS Datamart Code User','$DATA_LOCATION_NAME', '$DATA_LOCATION_HOST','$DATA_LOCATION_PORT','$DATA_LOCATION_SRVC', '$DATA_LOCATION_USER','$DATA_LOCATION_PASS')
}Addding a value to the DATABASE_NAME property lets OWB know that this a case where GLOBAL_NAMES=TRUE as you wouldn't populate that value otherwise. OWB then will check that checkbox for you.

I am using a sony HDR - CX100 camcorder. Do I need a converter for the videos to recorded with my camcorder to work in imovie? If yes, what converter do you recommend?
The guy at the Genius Bar has told you absolute and utter rubbish. It is true that Apple has stopped supporting iWeb, but it definitely DOES NOT mean that your website will stop working any time soon.
They should know that iWeb is an application on your Mac and as long as it is compatible with your OS - it works in Snow Leopard and Lion and will be compatible with the new Mountain Lion out this Summer, then you can still use it to build and maintain websites.
As long as your are not publishing your site to MobileMe, then you are okay - if you are publishing to a local folder and then uploading to another host that is fine and your site will not be going anywhere in a hurry.
You don't need to change software unless you really want to. -
I moved from the UK to the US with my iMac. What do I need to buy for the UK iMac to work in the US? A power convertor? A plug convertor? or Both? I had previously read that you only need a plug convertor (three prong to two prong). But I'm terrified that my iMac will blow up if I only use a plug convertor and not some sort of voltage convertor (Transformer).
I'm not really hardware tech savy - is it easy to pop out the UK power cable and plug in the US power cable? Or do I need to get someone like an iMac support guy to do this? And because of the voltage difference, is there something built into the iMac that takes care of the voltage difference for me? Thanks!!

Restriction for the use of last_record in 10g forms
Hi,
When I was working on Forms 6i with the query in the trigger When_new_form_instance:
go_block('ABC');
execute_query;
last_record;
first record;
go_block('DEF');
execute_query;
last_record;
first record;
It worked and gave correct data on frontend.
When the same was used in 10g forms, it gave incorrect data.When we removed last_record from the query, it worked.
Could somebody tell me is there some kind of restriction for the use of last_record in 10g forms? If yes, what kind of?
Thanks,
NehaWhen I set Query All records to Yes.
Surprisingly it gives incorrect data.
This is what is bothering me.
As i said earlier i was using last_record for
navigation purpose to fetch all the records from the
database and then first_record to highlight the first
record.
You don't need to do that, that is poor programming logic. Instead change the block property Query All Records and set it to Yes.
This will fetch all the records from the database and the highlight will be on the first record;

Much better notifications, better Mail, better camera, iCloud, wireless syncing, wireless updates, etc.
You can read this review of iOS 5

It isn't that risky. You may be reading hundreds of posts here about problems, but that is out of MILLIONS of iPhones that have been upgraded. Percentage-wise, that means most people have no problem.
However, as with any major change to your system, you should back up everything your iPhone first. Just right-click it in iTunes to get the backup menu. That will be your safe fallback position in case something goes wrong.
I still use an iPhone 3GS. That's older than your iPhone. But iOS 5 works fine on it. -
Compress command, can I change the destination for the ".zip" file?
I cannot find a "User's Manual" for my OS 10.5.8. Hence my question. I have used up all but 1% of my hard disc space. Now I wish to compress and backup my iPhoto files (44Gb) specifying (?sp) my backup drive as the destination for the compressed file. I wish to compress directly to the Seagate (?) firewire drive but I see no way to set the destination drive. Is that possible to do?
Thanks,
HBear MessecYou cannot do that using the built-in archiving utility. Archiving such a large folder is not a great idea. You have a backup drive so I suggest you copy the folder directly to the backup drive. I also suggest doing this with a backup utility such as Carbon Copy Cloner - CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
Here's a useful rule of thumb. The amount of free space on your system volume should be 15 GBs or 10% of the hard drive's capacity, whichever is greater. You have too little free space. There's great risk of severe directory and/or file corruption. -

I can not give you any advices where to find such driver because I dont know what LAN card is installed in your oldie.

Who could give the license for the use of the songs?
Hey guys
Does anybody know the real names or authors of the songs "Dogma" and "Strategy" (both under "Intense" list) and also "peach Cobbler" (under "Cheerful")?
Basically, I need to know who could give the license for the use of these songs. Do you know any companies that license them or is Apple?
Thank you
SinisaApple's license agreement says:
You may use the Apple and third party audio loop content (“Audio Content”),
contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original
soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were
created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio loops may not be commercially or
otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound
libraries, sound effects or music beds.
So you're fine as long as you add something to the loops or jingles - what's forbidden is to distribute one of them as a song. But that's probably not what you want to do. -
I purchased a game on my ipod touch. I restored the device to factory settings last night and when I synced all the apps back, the game is now in the demo version. How do I unlock it ? I hope I don't need to pay for the full version again.
PES 2012 is no longer available in the US App Store and only on the British App Store currently.

That (an app no longer available) happens sometimes.
Your only way is if you have the appt on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case move it to your iTunes library and sync. -

Restrictions for the use of MapKit in a paid iOS6 app that caches map tiles.
Can anybody advise what restrictions exist for the use of MapKit for a paid app that caches map tiles for off-line use. The app is targetted at iOS6 and above. I haven't found any clear answers on this,
Is there a cost associated with using map tiles if you charge more than $0 for the app? I understood that this could not be done for free in iOS 5 due to Google licence terms.
Also, under the iOS6 Apple Maps licence, can map tiles be cached for off-line use?
Many thanks to anyone who has the answer to these questions. A link to a document from Apple would be fantastic.
GeoffJust in case you didn't already go there and see it, there is a specific developer forum for discussing MapKit and some other things I can't talk about in a public place. Look for a developer forum that mentions maps in the name and that'll be it. The people there can answer your question if it hasn't already been answered.
