Do I need a nike sensor for my 6th generation nano?

Do I need a nike ipod sensor to use the fitness app on my 6th generation nano?

Nope you don't need a sensor as long as you have latest software version 1.2

  • I need an earphone lanyard for my 3rd generation nano.  Will the lanyard for the 1st generation nano fit my 3rd generation nano?

I need an earphone lanyard for my 3rd generation nano.  Have searched the internet and cannot find one.  Can find one for the 1st generation nano.  Does anyone know whether or not the lanyard for the 1st will also work on my 3rd? If not where I can purchase a 3rd generation lanyard?  Thanks for everyones help!

You aren't required to do so. You can choose not to use the speaker dock or you can return the Nano.

  • I want a soundbar for my 6th generation nano but am having trouble finding a compatible device. I'd like more than a dock, ideally a soundbar with wireless subwoofer. I'll only use the soundbar for music, not TV home theater. Any suggestions?

  • Recommendations for non-headphone microphones for the 6th generation Nano?

Does anyone have recommendations for a microphone for the 6th generation nano that is NOT part of a headphone set? (Think of things like the older third-party products for past nanos or ipods).
    Thank you!

  • Need help with accessories for new 4th Generation Nano-speakers, etc

I just purchased the new 16GB 4th generation nano and I want accessories to play with it but am concerned with compatibility and charing issues. I am new to this so my questions may not make sense!
    1. I am looking for speakers and the Logitech Anywhere Speakers have good reviews. Will I be able to play my Nano with these and charge it? If not, what ones will that are reasonably priced?
    2. What accessory can I use to play my nano in my car (older model) that will also charge it? Or are there no accessories for this as of yet.
    3. If I want to plug it into a stereo, I only need the mini/RCA cable converter, correct?
    4. To plug into the wall, I need the USB adapter-but do I need a dock as well?
Thank you and sorry for such simple questions! This is my first iPod! :-D

    2. If you have a cassette adaptor with the 3.5mm audio plug and want to also charge your iPod. You can plug it into a Griffin AutoPilot.
    http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/autopilot
For the car with no tape or aux you need an FM transmitter, if your in a city with a lot of stations you will get interferance (I was glad to dump mine when I got a new car). Most are 12 volt! The Griffin iTrip has 5 volt charge and works with the iPod Nano 4th Gen.
    http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itripautopilot
Griffin seems to be one of the few companies that switched to 5 volt charging some time ago.
    3. A line out cable is something like this...
    http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-35507-Connector-Cable/dp/B000JG3WBY/ref=sr111?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1221776257&sr=1-11
Better then using the headphone jack to hook up to a stereo.
    4. For the dock a 3.5mm to RCA cable should be all you need to get line out to your stereo.

    Hi Jeffrey,
did you post a Mylyn bug? This is the best way to get your issue addressed.
At the moment is holiday time and some of the Mylyn guys may be on vacation.
They definitely look at the bug list, but may not browse the newsgroup everyday.
    Cheers, Jörg

My pc does not meet the minimum operating system requirements for the 6th gen nano. Is there anything I can do to make it work on windows XP?  This was sent to me from Apple after my previous Nano was recalled.

I think you've anwsered your own question. If it does'nt meet the minimum spec it won't work.

  • Is there a belt clip for the Second Generation Nano?

I bought a 2GB Nano yesterday. I also purchased Apple's combined Lanyard/Headphones. The headphones won't stay in. ugggh. Anyone else having this problem?
Does anyone know of a belt clip for the new Nano?
    G5 and Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I purchased the correct Lanyard Headphones, made specifically for the Second Generation Nano. Is anyone else having problems with these headphones not staying in?
Since the new Nano does not come with a beltclip and the only option I've found (thus far which doesn't work for me) is the new Lanyard/Headphones, what are the other options for wearing the new Nano?

  • Which Nike+ sensor for 3G S?

I want to buy a Nike+ sensor to use with my 3G S tomorrow. Is there a specific one I need to buy, or do the ones designed for the Nano work too?
    Cheers

So after a day or so I plugged my iPhone in and it asked me if I wanted to upload my last run. I said yes and iTunes filled in my Nike+ account info and added the run to the Nike+ website. I never specified my Nike+ account info (it's different than my Mobile Me account) so it must have pulled it from the Nike+ menu bar application I have installed for the Nike+ Sport Strap.
I can't find any way to change the account info, if for instance my wife docked her iPhone on my computer I assume it would upload her data to my Nike+ account as well.

  • Can apple put an update for ipod 6th generation so that it gives better quality sound?

I have an ipod 6th generation and i have heard a lot about apple's popular white earphones. The problem is that my ipod don't give enough volume to enjoy music from those white earphones. Can apple bring something new in their updates to fix this issue???
    HELP !!!

You must realize that the quality of sound has been compromised by the very fact of compression and equipment. You are never likely to experience the nature of a live event by listening on an iPod. The best solution is to get a better quality of earbuds/ earphones/ headphones to improve the playback experience. The higher quality headphones such as Bose, Sennheiser, Sony have capabilities to counter ambient interference ( Bose noise-cancelling for example), and they have a better quality speaker than the Apple earbuds. This standard issue bit of kit is more of a courtesy to iPod buyers so that they will have something right out of the box in order to listen to their music but they are not the highest audio quality. The best audio quality will cost every bit as much as, or even more than, the cost of an iPod. As for turning up the volume, that is a foolish undertaking that can have long-term consequences on your hearing. Tinnitus cannot be cured! You will live with it unto your last days.

  • Using nike fitness technology on 6th gen nano

One of the main reasons I chose the 6th gen nano over the shuffle was the feature enabling run tracking.  It was my understanding that the newest generation was ready to go and didn't need an added kit like previous nano generations.  However, I find that my nano only has the option to use a pedometer on the pre-loaded fitness icon.  I'm new to apple technology, so excuse my ignorance, but I can't seem to find a way to track distances, mile times, and similar. Please help me figure out if there are controls that can be changed or additional downloads that must be pursued.  Thank you!

You can't. Being able to do so would dramatically decrease your iPod's battery life anyways.

  • Can there be an update for the 6TH Gen nano to have a calculator?

I think it would be really useful if there was a calculator on the 6th gen nano.

You aren' speaking to Apple here.  If you would like to leave a suggestion for them, use the form via the page below.

  • Need the original pouch for iPod 3rd generation

I am very nostalgic about this one iPod as I have owned the 30 gig variant since 2004.  Now in a freak situation, I lost my pouch (that mesh one that was included in the packaging) yesterday and have been scouring the web to find a replacement.  The closest I got was to 2 eBay auctions selling then for $125 upwards because I have to rebuy the entire thing (ipod/box/etc.)  I messaged them and asked to buy only the pouch, but they weren't willing.
If anyone has the pouch, perhaps we can arrange something.  I will pay via PayPal.
    Thanks

This is a feature of ipod touch 3rd gen.  You do not need an app.  It was added as a feature on ios 4.
