hello im a music producer, i sell customer non exclusive licences to my musical productions my question is Do i need a special licence to sell music in the Apple AIF/AIFF audio file. like i know for the Mp3 File format if i make a certain amount in sales or whatnot i would have to pay the owners of the MP3 file format royalties so im wondering if apple has some restrictions on using the apple AIFF/AIF file format in commercial digital downloads etc.
also wondering if there is any information regarding my issue anywhere on the apple site or if its in logics paper booklet or something,

Nothing special. You must havethe app store app installed in 10.6.8. Find Mavericks in the app store. Downloadit. It will take a while (5.31GB) and install thi installer ion your applications folder. Then you can proceed at your leisure.
Check hard disk space, permissions, apple-ID, retry.

You cannot make midi from audio with GB. You'd need a sampler.

Do I need to recreate my app and submit to the Apple store for v30 folio to work?

I have created an folio using dps v30. I have downloaded the content viewer to my ipad and tested everything works as it should. I then published my new folio. The cover appears in the app store but when I try to download it says I need to update my app. I'm not sure what app it is refering to because I have not created a new version.
When I go to the DPS App Builder and click 'edit' it tells me the App Version is already v30
Basicially I haven't got a clue what is going on. I really wouldn't have updated to v30 if I knew it was going to cause me this much grief!

If you created a folio using the v30 viewer version (folio format) but have, for example, a v28 app in the store, then you have two choices: (1) update your app to v30, or (2) re-create the folio as v26 and update it.
By the way, there is no reason to choose v30 when you create a folio. Just choose v26. While the viewer has included new features with each release, the folio format hasn't changed since v26.

I am looking for a way to distribute and protect sales training content. We have audio files and videos related to sales training, negotiations training, etc. Could I list these on Itunes and as what? I was looking through the site and it looks like I cannot list them as movies..or music
I would like to limit the people who can download them…so I would either want them to have to have an authorization code to access them or have them listed for a fee and have them enter a promo code to get to them. Users would be granted access to them when they purchase services from us so I don’t necessarily want them to have to “buy” them but I don’t want them listed for free. Does this make sense? Can I do this with Itunes? Thanks in advance for any help!

Bought my wife an 16G Iphone 5 for Christmas. She went to upgrade to 32G the day after Christmas and was told she'd have to pay a $35 restocking fee? She needs the extra storage for music thus my question: is it possible to store all my itunes music in the cloud and retrieve as needed?

A couple of things.
     1. Anything you buy from itunes can be stored on the icloud free. It doesn't count against storage.
     2. Music not from itunes can be stored in the cloud free up to the storage limit.
     3. If you use and pay for itunes match (25$ a year) it will match as much of your music against the Apple      library and then only store your non-matched music in the cloud. This is great for large libraries.
     4. When you request a song from the cloud it needs to be connected to the net to download it so you can play                    it. It then is stored on your iphone. You may eventually want to delete it from the iphone but it will                      be available in the icloud for future download.
                 Just don't agree to "delete from icloud also.

Get the Apple USB Superdrive. It is available on the Apple store page of the Apple web site. Just look under storage on the left hand column under accessories for the Mac. $79. I have one since I have a lot of DVD's and CD' s. I burn DVD's made from movies created with iMovie. Works fine. You may be able to find one cheaper at Other World Computing.
BTW, you can expect that future computers will not have optical disk drives. This is definitely true for Apple and I suspect other mfgrs will also as we move more into streaming video and downloading of apps rather than selling CD/DVD versions.

No. The iPod uses headphoes with the standard 3.5 mm plug.

A Mac Mini s a computer you can use with the iPad.
YO do not need a computer fro backup since yo can backup to iCloud.
However, sometimes software glitches occur and require connecting the device to a compute to restore vi iTuunes.
You can control a computer via an iPod with an app like TeamViewer or LogMeIn. There are others too.
You can also use an iPad a a SECONDAY monitor for a computer. with other apps.
You need a dedicated monitor, keyboard and mouse to setup the Mini. You can use a PC USB mouse and keyboard.

I spent time in line and got a Verizon 3G Ipad2 today. I was told at the store, "plug it into a computer with Itunes and select your plan..." My Ipad2 wont do that, I don't have a Wifi signal. So, after 5 hours on the phone with both Apple and Verizon (Neither would just give a straight answer, "This is what's going on...") a Customer Service Rep at Verizon tells me about "MyFi", a special little card that allows the Ipad2l to work with Verizon. No one told me anything about this, neither at the Apple Store or at the Verizon Corporate Store I bought this at (Verizon Cor. Store told me, "It's a new product...it's going to have glitches", meaning even the people at Verizon don't know what "Myfi" is...!!)
Bottom line-
The Ipad2 will not work with '3G' unless I have this little "myfi" card. AT&T Ipad2s have it pre-installed()...
So, I am supposed to keep track of this little 'connector card' to stay connected???

Kind of defeats the purpose of the Ipad2 to have to carry a little card on my person....what if I lose it?

Correct. It does not. It has a 3G chip inside that allow it to connect to the Verizon CDMA cell network.

The ATT version does not have mifi in it either. It is not needed because it has a 3G chip inside that allow it to connect to the ATT GSM cell network. The ATT iPad also requires an ATT microsim card,network gives it the identification to use the ATT network. Verizon does not require a microsim.

You do not need mifi to use a Verizon 3GiPad 2. It has a 3G chip inside, the same as a cell phone.
Mifi is a small, completely separate device about the size of a pack of cigarettes. It connects to a cell network and creates a "wifi hotspot" which allows wifi only devices (Verizon iPad 2 is not wifi only) to connect to the Internet when there is no wifi around.
The 1st gen iPad could not connect to the Verizon network, so Verizon sold the wifi only version with a mifi device. This is not needed with a Verizon iPad 2.

This freezing reminds me of really old Macs, long ago, in the days of the old-school peripherals like SCSI drives, terminators, scanners and the like. If you had a SCSI conflict, like the wrong device ID's or something, you'd freeze up like that. Back in those days you'd call 800-SOS-APPLE (AAPL?) and they'd run you through disconnecting all your extra hardware - Jaz and Zip drives, CD burners, scanners etc and then eliminate them one by one by adding them incrementally and testing for the freeze/bomb dialog.
But, today we have Firewire and none of those ancient issues (no free lifetime tech support either). My iMac's ports are all full, and I only know which devices are connected when I have to remove something for another device. iSight, scanner, card reader, external hard drive, USB soundsticks, etc. You wouldn't happen to have any SCSI devices hooked up, would you?
Out of curiosity, have you tried a different USB/Firewire port for the hard drive? Or run the hardware test DVD that comes with your computer? This weird freezing seems to suggest a problem with the computer, RAM or network more than a device. Bad devices, in my experience, cause kernel panics, not freezing.
