Do I need an interface?

Guys, when I play a note in my guitar I hear it 1/2 second later in the monitoring....I'm pluging directly my guitar... If a use an interface will solve the problem? Is it better to use an interface ?

I found that an interface made a difference to my recording success (however, I did buy a good condenser mic to go along with it as well).
I bought a Focusrite Saffire LE FireWire Audio Interface and recommend it. It has a good number of input and outputs and is reasonably priced. I DI my Roland V-Drums through it and it gives me a far richer drum sound than just directly into the Mac.

    nce of nth triggering pulse. i need to know when the when the ist trigger occurs and when the nth trigger occurs . please tell me how to to . what i know is that event triggering has to be done with start and stop trigger. please tell me how it has to doneSuresh;
What you will need to do is to set up a digital start and stop triggered Analog Input acquisition. Then you will need to have a counter set as event counter, having the specific number of pulses you need configured as the preset value, configured to count down, and generating a pulse after the terminal count has been reached. That counter output will be the stop trigger of the Analog Input operation. In summary, you will have the external pulse being both the digital trigger of the Analog Input operation and the source pin of the counter, and the counter output being the digital stop signal for the analog input.
I'm attaching a Labview VI that does the start and stop analog input acquisition. You will need to include the counter part and set the stop s
ignal to be the counter output.
    Hope this helps.

  • ASA5510 Security plus Licence - Need Gigabit interface

    Hi,
i am using asa 5510 version 8.2 and i want to upgrade my licence with the security plus licence because I need one interface ( eth0/1) to be in Gigabit.
Whats the process to install this licence and can we choose on which interface will be the gigabit function or is it only on eth0/0 and eth0/1?
    Thank you

In addition to Rudy's correct answer, the process for installing it is to use your PAK which you will receive when you purchase the license to get an activation key issued (via the self-service Cisco licensing portal or by calling the TAC and asking for licensing).
You enter the PAK code plus your serial number and get an activation key specific to your hardware. A simple one line command then activates it. No service interruption is required to activate the license (at least not directly) but it's generally recommeded to shcedule a reload (service-affecting of course) to make sure the license stays put after cycling the firewall.
Hope this helps. Please rate helpful answers.

  • Do I need an interface and what exactly is a preamp?

I do a lot of recording with GB. I own and have used the Presonus Firepod and the Tascam US-122 for past projects. But I am wondering if there are any other options as far as getting a strong audio signal into my computer.
Lately I have been just plugging a Shure SM58 straight into (with a 1/4 inch then an 1/8 inch adapter) the audio/input jack on my MBP. This is not working out bad but I cannot get a strong signal without "hiss."
Now, I could just go through the Firepod or US-122 but lately I have been hearing people talk about preamp. I know that both of my interfaces have preamps but I am sure that they are not very good. So what I am wondering is can I get a dedicated preamp to go between the mic and the computer skipping the interface? Or do I need the interface too? Ideally if I can use a preamp I would like it to be quite small.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA!

Depending on if you're purpose is for commercial release or not, you don't need a preamp. I'll tell you this though even professionals who work in studios with recording consoles costing 6 figures use external preamps to plugin into their already excellent preamps. Why do they do this? For a stronger signal to noise ratio to get the loudest sound into their preferred choice of media without distortion. There are cheap options like the ART tube pre which is better than not having one but then you have a lug around another piece of equipment. The only decent one I've seen out there that is designed for portability and provides professional sound is the Apogee mini-me which is an interface with excellent preamps and AD/DA conversion.

  • Why does EJB needs two interface???

    Hi All,
This has been asked by many ppl and many of you might be having
the correct answer for it. Please tell me....
Why does EJB needs two interface (Home and Remote Interface)?. Why not one?
    Thanx to all...
    Regards
    GoodieGuy

    Hi Goodie ,
Its good question and its a very valid one , one has to have doubt
why two , why not one ..
    Here the answer goes ..
First of all you need to understand that its a distributed computing technique ie I mean lot of people will be accessing the bean at the same time , right ? OK , you cann't access the bean directly.
and lastly the stateless and entity beans do instance pooling.
The very purpose of having two interfaces is
    1) To differnentiate the bussiness logic and life cycle methods .
    2) The home interface inititates life cycle methods like creation , destruction etc .
    3) There are lot of beans in the container , and through home you are
creating the instance or accessing one of them .
    4) Once you have home object using it we get the remote object ie the instance of the bean that you want to access if stateless any bean can be called , if statefull depending upon the parameter in create method that respective bean is created and invoked .
In ejb 1.0 and 1.1 even though the bean and the client are in same jvm its assumed that they are remote and in 2.0 Ver we have local this is to avoid network traffic .
Hope you have got the answer , but if u still need clarification
read EBRoman book first and second chapters thoroughly and then proceed
    a head.
    Bye

  • Need common interface across devices for word processing and spreadsheets with shared files

Need software for Mac, PC, iPad & iPhone with common word processing interface across devices (spreadsheet as well).
Need shared access to files through home NAS or cloud.
Trying MS Office 365, Google Docs & Sheets, OpenOffice,
Trying iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, WD MyCloud.
So far each has fatal flaw.
    Suggestions?

Office, Office for Mac and the Office Apps for iOS  can all read from and write to OneDrive.  You can create folder structures however you want them, and read files from them normally though the Apps.
You do need an Office 365 subscription for certain editing features on the iPhone Office Apps though.
As to a backup, from either the PC or the Macbook, you should be able to simply drag and drop your files to the external drive form the OneDrive folder.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/onedrive/id823766827?mt=12
You can access your documents from anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection. Updates are applied almost immediately.
Why did One Drive not work?

  • Need additional interface for IDS-4250

I need to add an additional interface to my IDS-4250 (Cisco part number IDS-4250-TX-INT). Unfortunately, these parts are now in an "end-of-sale" status as of May 31, 2005. Does anyone know what PCI NIC this part number really is? I'm sure it's just a "normal" NIC (3Com, Intel, etc.) that Cisco was using. Any help would be appreciated.

You are looking for the wrong part number.
The part number you want is: IDS-TX-INT= (10/100/1000Base-TX for IDS 4235, 4250)
And it is still being sold by Cisco (List price $300).
It is only the base chassis IDS-4250-TX-K9 part number that has been End Of Saled in May.
The optional 10/100/1000 PCI NIC IDS-TX-INT= is still being sold for customers to upgrade their IDS-4250-TX sensors. The primary purpose for selling the additional NIC is to support InLine mode on the IDS-4250-TX sensors.
The IDS-TX-INT= can also be used in a IDS-4235 chassis for customers wanting to run InLine mode on their IDS-4235.
Because it can be used in both the IDS-4235 and IDS-4250-TX it was decided to not put 4235 or 4250 in the product number.
NOTE: IDS-4250-TX-INT is not a valid part number.

  • I need help interface/phantom power

i'm going to be purchasing the nt2-a studio condenser microphone but i'm under the impression i will be needing to buy an interface, could which interface i get affect audio quality etc, i will only ever be using one microphone at a time.
Which interface should i get and what should i know as i've only worked with usb microphones before?
Do i need to buy a phantom power also?
Do i need to spend 100 odd on an interface or will this work http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XLR-to-USB-Interface-convertor-with-48v-Preamp-phantom-power-/16 1105081721?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Preamps&hash=item25829c7579
    What is my cheapest option?

I must confess that I'm slightly at a loss to understand why you want to purchase one of the quietest condensor mics around and then feed it into a piece of junk like that ebay item. The mic will considerably out-perform it. Yes, you need phantom power for this mic, but if you want to use it to anything like its capability, then you'll need rather more than the cheapest usb interface for it.
You'd be better served by the (cheaper) Behringer Xenyx 302 USB Mixer and interface, or for not much more, the ART USBMix 3 Channel Mixer w/ USB Audio & Phantom Power. Even though I'm personally not a huge fan of Behringer, either of these will do a better job, because the preamps in them aren't anywhere near as compromised. At this price level though, (only 16-bit A-D) you still won't be able to get the full benefit from it. To do that, you're going to need a more expensive system with a better converter.

  • Need file interface

    Hi,
i haave one requirement to download production orders thru Interface.
but i didnt get any interface.
so i developed one customized program for downloading the orders in flat file.
i have to send this flat file to non-sap system.
is it possible thru rfc-file interface?

    Hi,
It is possible, for that you need to first create a RFC destination and then use that, otherway of doing it is write that flat file to application server and in the application server, have a script which will do the FTP on that particular to the destination.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Can I directly communicate with an EnDat Sensor or do I need an interface?

We are using cRIO with FPGA and some DIO interfaces (NI 9411 and NI 9403). Until now we had incremental signals which are easy to detect with the DI module. But now we are have an absolute signal with this EnDat signal. Is there a way to add this signals (1Vss) ant the absolute ENDat interface with standard cRIO modules? We don't want to add an additional third party module as the EnDat Module from SEA.
Od do ou have other references to get an absolute signal?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Petric,
sorry for the questions, it's clear what you mean now. After some researches i can tell you, that it is the best solution to use the EnDat Signals is the cRIO EnDat Modul of SEA. National Instruments doesn't offer EnDat Modules, because we can't cover the whole spectrum of Modules and the EnDat Protocoll/Signal is very special and complicated. It ensures you reliable FPGA speed at a maximum data rate of 38 kHz and is a qualified product which is full supported from our cRIO Chassis. So if you want to use the EnDat Signal i would recommend you the Module from SEA. If it's possible to use other Signals like SSI, Hiperface you can look after other solutions.

  • Why do we need Serializable Interface since there is no method decl. inside

On working with Serialization in java
I could see that the Serializable Interface is empty without any method inside.
Also, the writeObject() and readObject() accepts only if the Serializable interface is implemented to a class.
What is the use of implementing an empty Interface?
    Please clarify.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    R.Mahendra Babu

The completely empty Serializable is only a marker interface -- it simply allows the serialization mechanism to verify that the class is able to be persisted.

  • Why we need externalizable interface in java

    Hi friends,
I know the Concept of serliazation and externalization, apart from this concept i have one doubt about externalization, I feel both are doing same work. Then what is the nedd of externalizable interface. Can anyone tell what is the difference of Serialization ans Externalization, if both are doing same work.

  • Need Help updating custom API Interface to VME-MXI-2

    Need Help.
I have a custom Visual C++ 6.0 application that interfaces to the VME-MXI-2 card.
This interface works on older machines, but when we upgrade to new PC's, the interface works, yet it appears that communication exists between the hardware board, and the PC Card appears to be working properly.
I suspect that the drivers have a different interface, but need the interface documentation in order to verify this, can you help?
Older machines use: PCI-MXI-2, and the driver is: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\vvxid.sys (File version 1.2) cpright 1996-2000
Newer machine has: PCI-MXI-2, and the driver is: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\nipalk.sys (File version 1.61f0) cpright 2002

    Alan,
As for reading and writing memory addresses from the VME memory map, you could use functions such as viIn8, viIn16, viIn32, viOut8, viOut16, or viOut32 in the NI-VISA API. You can find the NI-VISA Funtion help at "Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-VISA >> NI-VISA Help" for Windows. Alternativelly, the NI-VISA Programmers Reference Manual is available for download from ni.com.
What exactly is your application that uses ACFAIL? ACFAIL is typically pretty unrealiable, and is a difficult signal to catch (especially over a bus extension like MXI-2). Basically, ACFAIL is asserted right before a total failure/shutdown of the chassis, so you have a very short window of time to detect the signal before it disappears.
