Do I need anything else besides my BlackBerry to connect to the internet with Laptop

Can I conncect to the internet with only bberry to laptop. Thank

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use your BB as a modem so that your laptop can connect to the internet (via your BB), see this KB:
KB05178 Support for tethered modem use
On the other hand, if your desire is to access the internet from your BB via your laptop, that is not possible.
Best!

Hi, I just switched from an HTC smartphone to the Bold, with the HTC I had an application called internet connection sharing and with a few mouseclick I could use the cellphone's mobile interent connection on my laptop. I use this to have full interent access with my notebook whne there is no wlan etc. for example in a car and it works very good.
I can't find a way to do the same thing on the Bold, any idea on how to do this? Thnak you!

  • I want to buy Apple TV for my grandchild so she can play videos and music from her Ipad on the family's big screen. Do I need anything else beside the Apple TV device. Also what is AirPlay? Is it an app, a service or a piece of hardware?

I want to buy an Apple TV for my grandchild so she can play content from her Ipad on her family's big screen TV. She has cable WiFi in her home does she need anything else beside the Apple TV. Also what is AirPlay. Is it an app, a service or a seperate hardware from the Apple TV?

Airplay is a wireless streaming protocol. It allows content to be pushed from the iPad through the Apple TV onto your connected HDTV.
If she wants to see the iPad displayed on the big screen and/or play games that involves mirroring. As long as it's an iPad 2 (or later) then you will be fine. More info on both has been referened below

  • Blackberry not connecting to the internet

For the past 24 hours or so, my blackberry has not been able to connect to the internet (I can't use my browser, I have not been getting my emails, I can't use any of the applications that require the internet connection). I tried removing my battery to reset it, but that didn't solve the problem.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi there!
What does your signal indicator say? Not knowing your carrier, I don't know the right question to ask...but for me, on VZW, I must have 1XEV (all upper case) or things aren't correct. What does your say (EDGE, 2G, 3G, etc...just below the signal strength bars)?
If you don't have all upper case, then you need to contact your carrier as upper case is required for full functions. Lower case (1xev) would mean the BB sees the network, but is not connected -- and your carrier is in control of that. Without a full network, none of the other recommendations will work.
If you have upper case, then try these things:
    Re-register HRT
Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > BBKey (it does not matter which line is highlighted) > Register Now
    Resend Service Books:

You say you've done the batt-pull...did you do it exactly like this?
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Give those things a try and let us know.
    Best!

  • I need help getting my Airport Extreme to connect to the internet

    Hello everyone,
I need some help setting up my AirPort Extreme. I'm trying to reestablish the express after a couple years of not using it. When I've set it up in the past, I've always had a hard time, and by accident it seems, I click something or turn something on and off, and I get it to work.
I have  a 802.11g second generation airport extreme. I'm able to connect to my network and I can move files back and forth from the laptop to the desktop, and vise versa.
I have a MacPro 2007, ethernet cable connected to my Linksys router, with two internal hard drives. One has OSX 10.5.8, AirPort Utility 5.6.1, and everything is up to date. The other has OSX 10.6.8, AirPort Utility 5.6.1. I also have a MacBookPro 2011, It came with Snow Leopard installed and I upgraded  it to OSX 10.7.4. I installed AirPort Utility 5.6.1.
All three systems can see and connect to my network, but will not connect to the internet.  The extreme's IP starts with 169.254.xxx.xxx, and there's an exclamation point on the wi-fi icon.
The set up I have now is a Westell DSL modem from Verizon. I have the ethernet cable from the DSL modem connected to the WAN port of the express and the other cable going from the ethernet port from the extreme to the ethernet port of my Linksys router 4 port switch, model #BEFSR41 V.3. I have reversed the connection to and from the extreme with the same result.
This is what I've done so far with no luck:
    • Unplugged the DSL modem, Linksys router, and the extreme for about twenty minutes.
    • Updated the Linksys firmware.
    • I have reset the extreme from the back and thru the AirPort Utility many, many times.
    • I've done a hard reset. I don't know if it worked. After the extreme powered back up, my network's name and settings were still the same. On a positive note, I'm now able to get on the web when I set the connection sharing to "Distribute a range of IP addresses" using the ethernet on my desktop. Before, I was only able to do so when the connection sharing in AirPort Utility  was set to "Off (Bridge Mode)".
    Any other Ideas?
As always, your help is always appreciated,
    Rick

    Hi Tesserax,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Sorry about the confusion. My goal is to get online wirelessly with my MacBook Pro and be able to use the ethernet connection for my MacPro.
My DSL modem is a Westell WireSpeed model A90-210015-04, the Linksys router, and the AirPort Extreme.
    Rick

  • Connecting to the Internet with Blackberry 8310

I have been having problems connecting my blackberry to the Internet how do I do ladies and gentleman

    Hi
    Welcome to the EE Community!
Have you tried doing a soft reset by removing the battery without turning the device off. Leave the battery out for 20 seconds then pop it back in and reboot?
This normally works wonders if your having issues with a Blackberry!
    Thanks.

  • RTP300 _ old I know, but I need help... I cannot connect to the internet?

Okay, so up until last night everything was great with using the network ports on the router. Then stuff hit the fan, so they say. After 5 months a hiccup, and I don't know how to fix it. The issue was with my cable modem resetting, so my ISP (COMCAST) had to reset the modem. Done. But now I cannot log on to the internet through the RTP300 on even the main comp. (port 1) I am unsure of what settings to check or really what to even do. We had a tech come out and set the network up for us, since I am clueless, but cannot afford one to come back out. My dh was laid off from work, so I have to figure this out. ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

    Configuration for cable connection:-
Connect your modem to the Router's Internet Port...Connect a desktop computer to port1 on the router...
Open the set up page of the router by launching an Internet Explorer Browser and type the address bar, 192.168.15.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the Username and Password, use admin for Username and Password both...
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
    - Select enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN/Internet IP Address on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If not ... power cycle your modem and the router for 1 minutes and check for the Internet Connection...

  • HT4623 I keep getting an error message "cannot connect to the internet."  Is this a problem with my internet provider, or has anyone else had this problem.

I keep getting an error message "cannot connect to the internet."  Is this a problem with my internet provider, or has anyone else had this problem.

I get that problem once in a while and I will not be able to connect to the Internet with any of the 5 or 6 (or 7 or 8 ) web browsers that I use on my iPad. The one thing that I do that has never failed to work for me is to close all apps on my iPad and reset the device. I can't guarantee that it will work for you, but this works for me every time I get the server failed to load/can't connect to the Internet message.... Or whatever the exact message is.
If you have a ton of apps in the multitasking display, it can take a while to close them all, so you could just trey resetting the iPad first and that might be all that you need to do.
Closing apps in iOS 7 works like this. Drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • TS1550 What about when using the "Time Capsule" HD as the external disk, especially when it is connected by ethernet cable? I'm having trouble getting it to work at all. Don't need it to work as anything else, other than a ethernet connected Time Machine

What about when using the "Time Capsule" HD as the external disk, especially when it is connected by ethernet cable? I'm having trouble getting it to work at all. Don't need it to work as anything else, other than a ethernet connected Time Machine backup. Already have a wireless network that works fine so no need to mess with it. We get the internet via cable company and their modem is upstairs and the Time Capsule is downstairs in the basement. The latest error message was about it could not backup as it was already in use (should have written it down before clicking OK and moving on.

    See if this helps...

  • I recently purchased the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station so that I can have wireless, my question is: so I need anything else so that my guests can have internet access via my router?

Hello Anyone and Everyone who can answer my question,
I would like to be able to offer wireless access to the internet for my guest's who use my apartment above my garage that is about 75 feet away from my house/computer. I have a MacBook Pro and have satellite internet service through an ehternet connection. I recently purchased an Apple Extreme Base Station with simultanious Dual-Band (MC34OLL/A), that is in the process of being shipped as I type, and am wondering if I need anything else to install in the apartment for the wireless to work with the Apple Extreme Base Station? Thank you for any help in this matter.
    Sincerely,
    Lizzy

In AirPort Utility, enable the guest network by selecting your Extreme, then the Edit button, then the Wireless tab, then check the box for "Enable Guest Network":

  • I have downloaded Viber to my iPhone 4s,  it was previously working but now displays a message saying i need to connect to the internet before i can make a call or anything else, My phone is connected but the app does not seem to recognise this?

I have downloaded Viber to my iphone 4S,  it was previously working,  but as of today it has continually asked for an internet connection when i try to make a call or send a message.  It displays this message while connected to the internet at my home,  or with 3g.  my internet connections seems to work fine on other apps that require this.  I have tried to reinstall viber but i can not not setup my profile becauase the same message displays.  does anyone know how i can resolve this?

Thanks, as it still will not work, I assume it is damaged and needs to be sent in for repairs.
