Hey! So I'm having a problem with sending an IMessage to another iPhone user and they are having the same problem. The problem is; is that I send a message to them it will attempt to send then will say under the message that it was not delivered? So I send it as a normal text message. As has been explained countless times already on these forums...your phones are sharing the same AppleIDs. Craete your own ID and configure your phone to use those services with that ID. Edit your Messages settings to reflect the correct phone number and ID: Settings --> Messages --> Send/Receive

My mom's iphone is sending spam imessages and emails?

So my mother has a iPhone 4, running iOS 5.0.1 I believe. Our service provider is Bell Canada.
This afternoon I recieved an odd **iMessage** from my mother on my Iphone 4S, containing a link. Knowing that this was strange, I immediately responded to the message via the app Kik Messenger asking her what she sent me. As I suspected, she said she didn't send me anything via iMessage. On a hunch I checked my email, where I found three obvious spam **E-mail** messages sent roughly the same time. After informing her, she found that all of her contacts on her iPhone with email addresses attached had recieved spam e-mails, and those that had iPhones had also recieved similar spam iMessages via email.
Basically its like that old "I love you" spam email message that if you open it it goes through and sends itself to your whole contact list, only it is somehow able to send both e-mails and iMessages. No SMS that I'm aware of.
I'm going to get her to restore her phone from a back-up... but this boggles my mind. I'm having her change her passwords for both her email address and Apple ID, though I doubt that will actually do anything (at least it will make her feel better about the whole thing)
How is this possible? Does anybody understand the relationship between iMessage, your Apple ID and your email address? .

Hi. My GF had an iPhone for a week in November and iMessage was activated. She didn’t get on with the iPhone so gave it back. Before doing so we made sure we turned off iMessage in the phone settings and on her Apple ID account and deleted her number out of it etc. However, still to this day when I send her a message from my iPhone to her non iPhone it sends as iMessage then immediately sends as text afterwards. It doesn’t always do this, maybe once or twice in the day and all other times it just sends as text straight away as it should do. Anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

I don't believe there are any other settlings you could change. You may need to check with your cellular provider to be certain the SMS option is properly provisioned on your account.

How do I Fix Other People Sending Me iMessages when I no Longer Have an iPhon

So, I recently decided to go away from the Apple iPhone, which I enjoyed, just too costly. Though, when I left, to go to android, I kept the same sim, and transferd it over to my new phone, with no issues.
The issue is on the other end, other people's cell phones (iPhones with iMessage) think I still have a iPhone, automaticly sending an iMessage. Most people don't know how to send it, like a regular message, so I'm wondering how I can disconnect iMessage from my android phone. Or would I have to contact my carrier to repair this issue, as I believe it still recognizes my new android as an iPhone.

Sound like they did what is called an express replacment. What apple does is they put a hold on your Credit Card for the amount of the cord because they are sending you the cord first. Then, once you receive the new cord in about 2-3 days, you'll put the defective cord in the box and ship it back out and when they receieve the defective one, they'll be able to remove that hold from you card.
I believe the reason behind the hold on your card is incase you don't return your defective one to them so they can find out the cause of the issue.
An Apple Retail Store could swap them out for you in store incase you happen to be near one. This requires no hold.

What do you mean do you need credit?
iMessage and FaceTime activation use hidden SMS messages directed to Apple's activation servers in the UK. If you are not using a supported carrier, or if your carrier is not aware that you have an iPhone, the messages may not be able to pass properly.
What country are you in and what carrier are you using?

i just recently ordered the prepaid iphone 4. y'know, because why not? haha. I was using a straightalk phone before this and was getting tired of it(it ran off of T-Mobile servers I believe) so my mom told me about it and im just like sweet i'd gladly rather have an iphone than this. and it was cheaper than the straightalk phone. so I ordered it and my mother ordered one for herself as well. they came in together. and her's worked perfectly fine and is still running fine. mine however, is a different story. I plugged in the charger right away to charge the phone, and it came on, but it said the battery was fully charged. so I unplugged the charger and the screen just completely shut off. and this kept happening, so eventually I just decided to go through the set up with the charger in. got to the part where they tell you to connect to iTunes, and I had to unplug it and hook it into my laptop. turned off again. so I plugged it into my laptop and the apple logo kept popping up like it normally does, and it would just keep turning off and on again. and then I had to put the Iphone into recovery, to restore it. and it wont leave recovery. I downloaded the update for it and everything but it just shuts off when its done and then tells me I need to download it all over again -___- my luck just seems to be pretty bad lately, any ideas on what I should do? and what I can do?

iMessages do not have text messaging fees, no.
Be sure to turn of "Send as SMS" in Settings however. If your 3G or internet access drops out, it'll often try to send as an SMS instead. Doing the aforementioned will prevent this.

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. If you don't follow them exactly as given, it won't work. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Part of the validation for cards is that they are registered to the same name and address as on your iTunes account, prepaid cards tend not to be so won't be accepted.
What you owe isn't shown on the payment details screen of your account ? If iTunes gift cards are available in your country then you should be able to redeem them onto you account so that you can your debt, after which you should get the 'none' option so that you can remove the prepaid card.
