Do I need nike plus sensor with iPod Nano 7h generation?

I want to buy a iPod Nano just for the nike + support and logging my daily runs. is it mandatory to have the sensor in the shoe?

No, it's not. Neither the 6th nor 7th generation nano needs the sensor. I have the 7th generation and use the running app all the time. Have never used the sensor. Do expect to need to calibrate the app from time to time, as it will be off, distance wise.

    According to this page: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/features.html
Track your walk. Or your run.
The built-in accelerometer in iPod nano gives you real-time feedback on your workout, and you can upload data to the Nike+ website. There’s no need to connect a receiver or use a shoe sensor to track your steps, distance, pace, and time. Just clip on iPod nano and go. In the gym, connect iPod nano to a Nike + iPod compatible cardio machine to keep track of every workout. Back at your computer, upload all your data to the Nike+ website to create personal goals, check your progress, and challenge your friends to top your results.Learn more about Nike + iPod

  • When the new Nike Sport Armband for iPod nano (5th generation) ?

When the new Nike Sport Armband for iPod nano (5th generation) ?
Is the Nike Sport Armband for iPod nano (4th generation)same to use??
Is Nike Sport Armband or Incase Sports Armband good to use?

Not sure about the Nike, but do NOT buy the InCase armband. This product is HORRIBLE for at least 3 reasons. I am tall and of normal build. Tried to wear it while working out (have worn other iPods and MP3 players in armbands/cases while working out with no problems at all).
    1) The strap is barely long enough to fit over my biceps (which is normal sized). The strap is not flexible, so it's loose when your arm is extended, tight when your arm is flexed. When doing a normal arm exercise (not even a biceps exercise), with a normal amount of weight, the very first time I tried to wear this, it popped right off my arm (literally).
    2) This generation Nano is longer than previous ones. The case is even longer (longer than necessary). It barely even fit on my arm, length-wise, between my elbow and my shoulder (and my arms are somewhat longer than average). Also, it was so long that I had to try to wear it in only one position, otherwise I couldn't really even bend my arm (during the 1 minute it stayed on my arm to begin with).
    3) The case has a thin opening at one end but none at the other, and is difficult to get in and out. Thus you can either have access to the earphone plug or the "lock" button, but not both. I actually "solved" this by creating a small hole in the bottom that allowed me to stick the earphone plug through it, allowing me access (sort of) to both ends. (Unfortunately, did this before testing the product out and can't return it now, if I could have to begin with.)
Do NOT buy this product. I wish I hadn't.

You can do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store for a fee, get a 3rd party site to repair it, sell it for parts, or get a new one.

  • How do I uninstall the nike plus from my ipod nano?

I've got new running shoes and no longer need the nike plus.
how do I uninstall or remove the nike plus from my ipod?

I don't believe there is a way to remove it from the Nano.  You can remove it from your Menu's via your iPod's Settings.

  • Issue with Ipod Nano 6th Generation

    Hi,
I am currently living in Japan and managed to get an iPod nano 6th generation at the Apple Store in Shibuya. However, there are a few things that I am curious as to whether or not other users are experiencing. First, my songs are set to shuffle, and sometimes when I hit next song it will shuffle through 3 or 4 (my shake to shuffle feature is OFF). Once it gets to the song, it might show one songs cover but play a different song. Also, if a song is playing and I blank out the screen, the next song will sometimes play, but sometimes it won't at all. When I wake up the screen it appears as if the next song should be playing but it isn't. So far, this has been a little disappointing. Does this sound like a problem with the software and are others experiencing anything like this? Thanks in advance!

What you are describing sounds like tracks that have been put on your nano that are not authorized to play them.
First, go to itunes and sort your music by "Kind" if this column is not showing, right click and select the kind column to show up. Sort by this column and scroll down, you will most likely see some music where the kind is "Protected AAC" or something like that. If you look on your nano, you will see that the tracks that are not playing are the ones where their kind is "Protected AAC".
If this all ends up being right, you need to reauthorize your computer to play your music. Connect your ipod, then in itunes select 'Store>Deauthorize this computer'. Then, select 'Store>Authorize this computer'. Then restore your ipod and resync all your tracks. Once you are done, they should be authorized and you should be able to play them on your ipod.

  • IPod Click Wheel games compatible with ipod nano 5th Generation

I've found the iPod Click Wheel Games by clicking the triangle that appears next to the "App Store" tab and clicking the third option, "iPod Click Wheel Games." But when I look at the details of any of the games it says they are compatible with:
"This game is compatible with iPod nano (3rd and 4th generation), iPod classic, and iPod (5th generation) only. It cannot be played on your computer, nor is it compatible with other iPod models or iPhone."
Does this mean that I cannot use them on my iPod nano 5th generation? or is the iPod nano being referred to as "iPod (5th generation)"
I guess it just seems silly that a game is only compatible with older versions or that the newest iPod nano can NOT operate older games.
Can anyone explain this? or has anyone tried to download one of these iPod Click Wheel Games and found that it actually Does work for an iPod nano 5th generation?

    Can anyone explain this?
I can't but Apple should be able too - U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)

  • Can I replace my ipod nano 2nd generation with ipod nano 3rd generation.?

I bought an iPod Nano 2nd generation last year in June and the warranty lasts until June of this year 2008. I want to know if there is any way to upgrade to an iPod Nano 3rd Generation without paying for a whole new iPod. If my iPod is messed up or something, will they replace it with a 3rd generation iPod Nano, or another 2nd generation iPod Nano. Is there any way to get the 3rd Generation iPod Nano?
    [x|http://www.parikesit.com]

If my iPod is messed up or something, will they replace it with a 3rd generation iPod Nano, or another 2nd generation iPod Nano.
If they still have iPods in stock of the older generation, you will get one of these; the color may vary, but other specifications should be the same. If not, you will most likely get a current model.
You may want to find someone willing to purchase that iPod, and then put the money toward a current one.

  • Using Apple Earphones with Mic and Remote with Ipod Nano (3rd generation)

Hi, I'm just wondering if there is any way i can make the Ipod Nano(3rd generation) compatible with the Apple Earphones with Mic and Remote. I know on the box it says the earphones are only compatible with a few ipods, like the 4th generation ipod nano. But Is there any program i can download or use to allow the ipod to recognize the earphone remote and mic?
    Thanks a lot.

I'm quite convinced the answer is no for that Apple mic.
I do believe recording is possible on the Nano 3G with the right attachment. But I don't think the sound comes through the headphone jack the way they do on the nano 4G and iPhone 3G/touch.
This review http://www.macworld.com/article/60004/2007/09/3gipodnano.html says it's possible, but when I look at "Belkin, Griffin Technology, and XtremeMac" I don't find much... doesn't sound like they worked very well ... the iKaraoke is compatible

  • Will yamaha MCR 040 work with Ipod nano sixth generation?

I am interested in buying a Yamaha micro system such as the MCR 040. There specs are not very explicit and I want to be sure that it will charge and control my sixth generation Ipod nano.
    Has anyone tried it?

According to the product's specifications page it is stated as being compatible with the 6G Nano. This page also says so.

  • Syncing issues with iPod nano 6th generation

I just had my dell laptop re-imaged. I have Window 7 as the operating system. My iPod 6th generation nano shows up in iTunes but music and audiobooks will no longer sync. I am able to get them to sync when hooked to other computers. Any advice?

    Hello bell57
Try restoring your iPod nano with iTunes and then setup the sync again to see if it starts to sync normally again.

  • Change Nike+ account associated with iPod nano(6th Gen) after a full restore

    Hi,
I own the 6th iPod and had it configured with a Nike+ account to post my runs.
For security reasons I had to delete the Nike account and create a new one.
Now, I would like to post my runs to this new Nike+ account. Since there was no 'Change Account' in the Nike + iPod tab in iTunes, I formatted and restored my iPod.
The earlier account details are not visible now under the Visit Nike+ button in iTunes, however I am unable to change or enter the new details anywhere to save my runs.
    Plz help.

    Hey iSolve,
That doesn't seem to work. I had also tried logging into my Nike+ account through the browser and then syncing but without any luck. I am beginning to think that a full restore only wipes out the previous Nike+ account details in the iPod. But iTunes will not try to associate the restored iPod with a new account.
I checked the settings.pst and workout xml files file in the hidden iPod folder structures, there always is a user info xtd created even in the workout files.
Could someone explain the above scenario or any other solutions.
    Thanks.

  • Sailing accident with iPod nano 6th generation. Read description

So I was sailing today and my iPod 6th generation nano was in my life jacket pocket and the pocket was zippered. I was teaching a sailing class for kids and we decided to have a swim break and I jumped in the water with my iPod still in my life jacket. (Stupid mistake) so what should I do? I haven't done anything for it yet.  Suggestions would be much appreciated.

Get a baggie and some raw rice or new silica gel packets. Put ingredients in the baggie and place it in a cool, dry place such as a cupboard. Wait 4 - 5 days. Connect the Nano to power (wall charger works best) let it charge for at least 30 minutes then reset it while it is still connected to power. It may take  few tries. When if revives fully charge it.
If the back light does not work you will need to make a Genius Bar Appointment at your nearest Apple Store and either do an out-of-warranty replacement or buy a new one. They will give you 10% off the cost of the new one for recycling the old one.
