Do I need Safari's permission?

I am creating a video tutorial for a friend on how to enable cookies on her browser at home...do I need any type of permission from Safari if the logo appears in the background of my educational video?

You can set up your Yahoo mail account in Settings. Once you've filled out the information, you can access your mail via the Mail app on the iPad, instead of via Safari.

Project Server 2013: I am using Project Server Permission Mode and need help with permission assignments?
How can I change Permissions for the individual users to see specific projects or all projects in project center and to see specific quick launch items?
For Example: if i have 4 users, A, B, C and D. what i want is:
User A can see everything and act as a project manager or Admin.
User B can view all projects in project centre but can change the schedule or resource assignment etc.
User C can only act as approver of projects and can view all projects in project centre.
User D can only view specific projects for which permissions are given.
can i have some expert help in sorting and understanding permission modes... as i was playing with project server mode permissions and can't figure out how to apply the above scenario to set of my user.

Actually, it will take a couple of days to explain in detail the security model that is a fundamental and tricky aspect of every PS implementation. But basically, you NEVER set permissions for a single user. You have groups in which your insert users. Groups
define "what users can do". Then you associate groups to a corresponding category. Categories define "what user can see". Thus the association of a group with a category will set "what the user can do on the objects he can see". Then, for more advanced security
level, you can use the RBS that will consist in "branches" in which you'll insert users. Based on those branches, you'll customize categories to fine-tune what user can see (for projects and resources) depending on the RBS branch and level.
I'd advice you to start "playing" in a test environment with the default categories/groups that might probably cover your need.
Concerning your 4 users:
user A : add him to the "administrator" group. Be careful that you're mentionning either project manager or administrator, which are 2 groups/categories with totally different permissions level.
user B : basically can see everything and change everything? it could be in the project manager group, assuming that there are no project visibility restrictions on the category via the RBS.
user C : waht do you mean by "approver"? Workflow approvals? Then it will be the portfolio manager group. Task update or timesheet approval? Then it is another long topic: please refer in the documentation to the "status manager" and "timesheet manager"
concepts. There are not related to the security model. In a few words, the status manager is the owner of the project plan, is defined for each task and approves tasks updates. The timesheet manager is an attribute defined for each resource in its parameters
and approves resource timesheet.
user D : you have to define which permission level must be given to this user. Basically it could be a team member that will see only projects he's in the project team. Note that team member cannot interact with the project plan in another way than submitting
timesheets and/or tasks updates which must be approved.
Once more, those are large and complex subjects that require a deep dive into your business model and tons of tests in a test environment.

ITunes 9.0 Needs Safari 4.03 - I already have it!

Did the update to iTunes 9 (with Snow Leopard), but when I try to use the store, a warning appears that says it requires Safari 4.03 or later to work and suggests I do a Software Update. I have Safari 4.03! And of course, there is no update with Software Update.
Any ideas of what to do? Thanks.

I am having same issue as other Snow Lep seed users. I am fully updated to 10.6 and can not find any other updates. Itunes says it needs Safari 4.03 which I am running and when I tried to reinstall 4.03, the installer tells me I need to be running osx 10.5.8 or latter.
Maybe I didn't read the fine print on being invited to be a seed evaluator. I thought we were getting it for free for our input on performance. I will not be so eager to be a part of program again, if it is going to cause a hassle.

Do i need safari enabled in order to use apps like instagram or gmail?

before i purchase an ipod touch 5th generation i wanted to know if i needed safari in order to get apps like instagram and gmail that need internet access. i know i'd need wifi, but i my parents don't want me to have safari. do i need it to have those apps or just wifi?

You can't watch HBO using the Safari browser on the iPad at all. HBO has an app in the App Store called HBO GO. You must subscribe to HBO in order to use it

I need Safari download. One on my computer doesn't work but in App store no separate download for Safari. Have to install whole OSX. Very big thing to do for such a small problem. Is there an individual download?

Safari for OS X is only available as an individual download for OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and earlier
Now all Safari downloads are included with the OS
If you have a Time Machine Backup you can try to restore Safari from that.
If that doesn't work, reinstalling the OS from OS X Recovery is your only option

Urgent Help Needed - Safari no longer opens

I woke up this morning and all of a sudden Safari won't open, it doesn't respond and then quits itself. I've tried rebooting, re-installing and repairing disk permissions and nothing works. I've heard that this may have happened to other people as well.
I've checked which updates I've recently installed and they are as follows:
10th October, 2008 - Security Update 2008-007
17th October, 2008 - Migration CD/DVD Sharing Update
28th October, 2008 - Airport Extreme Update 2008-004
28th October, 2008 - iPhoto Update
Would any of these have an effect?
I'm really lost and have no idea why it isn't working, help is urgently needed and would be greatly appreciated.

Before I do that, something weird just happened, I'd reinstalled Safari off my Install Disc and it hadnt been working, all of a sudden it opened up after I deleted some stuff out of the various Library folders (Safari, Cache etc). Only problem is it's the old version (3.0.4) and when I go to install the new version it tells me my OS has to be 10.5.2 or higher, when its actually already 10.5.5...
Does that change matters?
Also, with Archive and Install, how do I do that and will it wipe my hard drive?

Safari / Java Permission

Hi,
I'm facing an issue with VPN Aventail and Hyperras connecting using a Macbook.
Seems that Safari is not asking permission to install an Java Agent and it is not installing so I cannot access the Web VPN.
When I go to other 2 macs and do the same thing, it requires me to type the Admin usersname and password before install the java agent.
Do you have any idea and how to force Safari (or java) to ask permission before execute it ?
I was looking for the KeyChains, but there is nothing there.. the mac is pretty new, no software installed.

I remember that I was able to find a solution months ago.. it was something related to the permission of Java.
I see that Safari is not asking permission to run the Java Agent and I want to make the Safari to ask that permission but I don't know what to configure.

Need Safari showing Full screen in Kiosk Mode

What we need:
150 iPads shall start a web page in Full Screen Mode and they shall not be able to leave the Webpage (Exam-situation). I can set the safari into Kiosk Mode but the Safari is not full screen. On the other hand I can create a web app, which is full screen but I cannot start the web app in Kiosk Mode. What I really need is to start a web app in Kiosk Mode. Any Hints? We really need a solution for that.

There is an app specifically for this with complete control of your web content and you can setup a secret admin pin which is the only way to disable the app and exit the kiosk session you setup. The app is totally free and also has very cool hardware support for expanded capabilities check it out:

Hi, ninamarie. Apparently you are downloading files in one or more file formats that no application installed on your computer is able to read. Examples of such files are any whose names end in .exe (applications that run only on Microsoft Windows computers) or .dmg (disk images for use only on Macs running OS X), as well as many others. If you have downloaded any version of Safari, just trash it, because it is of no possible use to you in OS 9.1.
Many of the sites where you can send and receive webmail for free no longer support any web browser that can run in the eight-year-old OS 9.x. A good many other web sites that are not used for emailing also fail to load in those old browsers. It may be difficult or impossible for you to find a browser that you can use in OS 9 for every web site that is of interest to you, and it will certainly not be possible to find an OS 9-compatible browser that opens all current web sites.
The last, best browser I used in OS 9, nearly four years ago now, was WAMCom Mozilla 1.3.1. Download the OS 8.6-9.x version from this page and give it a try:

hello, first excuse me for my english i speak french and im not very good in english..
i record (publish file mp4) from flash as3 with fmis 4.5.
Then i see all file have the permission 0660 when save in the folder in opt/adobe/fms/...
i change in server.xml the value of mask to 012 but the file is now to 0664
but i want all files have this permission 0755
how i can make this?
i need this because when i publish this file, after i use ffmpeg and when the file is encode i want to delete the original file with php.

Have you tried the mask of 022? - You probably need to update the folder permissions so they cascade down (check out the special mods on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chmod#Special_modes). Can you have the user the ffmpeg process runs as, in the same group as the fms account? Also you only need 755 on a file to execute it as the group/all, or on a folder to browse it, so on the files 664 should be fine to read the file, but to save one back you need to make sure the directory permissions are correct.
If i were you I would (and have done on my fms setup for a similar transcoding reason):
Make sure the users are in the same group
Update the mask to 007
Update the folders / files to the correct permissions
find <root video folder> -type d -exec chmod 2770 {} \;
find <root video folder> -type f -name '*.mp4' -exec chown <account> {} \;

Every time i open firefox i need to give permission to do it. This just started today and has not happened before

i do not know what has happened but now the computer is asking for permission for firefox to make changes to the hard drive every time i open the browser. I have not changed my settings so what can i do to fix it? I have tried it with 3.6.3 and 3.6.4 same problem

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.
