1) Slows down the machine. I have already uninstalled some of it, I don't need it-
Microsoft.net Framework 4 Client Profile.....

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition [ENU], Sync Framework Runtime Native v1.0 (x86), Visual C++2005 redistributable, Visual C++2005 redistributable (x64), Visual C++2008 redistributable x86 (9.0.30729.4148 and 9.0.30729.6161)
2) Realtek Ethernet Driver 8136-8168-8169
3) Silverlight.
4) Windows Live Essentials, including assistant, live sync and tool.

Region 2 Pal DVDs
There are some foreign movies I have been wanting to watch, but they are not available in NTSC Region 1 format. I just read that computers are region agnostic and should be able to play a DVD from any region. Then I read conflicting reports- desktop vs laptop, newer versions of Windows Media, etc. It would be wonderful to be able to watch PAL 2 DVD's from Europe/ with English subtitles on my Lenovo. (I know my DVD player can't handle it.) The experts on this forum should know better than anyone what my Lenovo can do. Some of these DVD's are kind of expensive. I don't want to buy, until I know for sure that I can play them. Any thoughts? Can my Lenovo handle it?

Bank of America requires Firefox 5 on Mac for their CashPro online treasury management. I need to find version FF 5.0 to download and install. Help! I just need a link to version 5.0 so I can install it. The website throws and error when using 6.0.#. BofA Tech Support said I needed to downgrade and that was the ONLY solution. I hate large corporations. If someone could provide the link I would appreciate it.

My Mac Pro starts up when I turn on the power supply (when I plug it to the outlet), BEFORE I switch on the button on the computer, why is this happening? Plus, my computer keeps freezing and blacking out and I'm forced to restart it, that's when the compter starts on its own when I turn on the power.

I should have followed up with a progress report because I eventually eliminated all the problems I was having with my Mac Pro, now it's behaving like a new computer… beautifully. I did originally take Grant's advice above, changing the setting that I had in the System Preferences > Energy Saver but that only stopped from rebooting on its own when I shut down my Mac properly. Otherwise it continued to restart on its own after freezing or crushing when I switched on the power. I took my machine to the Apple Store and after many tests they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was very depressed about the whole business.
It was after going onto many of the other Apple related websites that I discovered that it wasn't a faulty power switch or fan, as as I originally thought, but found out that my problem was related to the Graphic Card and possibly I did not have enough ram (I had the original amount of 2 GB). The original card that came with the computer: 512 MB ATI Radeon X1900 XT was over heating and forcing my machine to shut down, I think it was because I had upgraded to OSX Lion which on its own requires at least 2 GB of ram to operate well. I added 4 GB of Ram to the 2GB I had (4GB kit (2GBx2), Apple 240-pin FBDIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 upgrades for Apple Mac Pro (4-core) 1st Gen. - 2006-2007 Desktop/PC, CT579443 from Crucial.com about $160 for the set) and replaced the Graphic Card with ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB from Apple (around $260), (ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro (Mid 2010) - Apple Store (U.S.)) This card works very well with my original Mac Pro 2008. I installed it about two weeks ago and no problem with it starting on its own, over heating or freezing. OSX Lion works well and I'm thinking of upgrading to Mountain Lion once I learn that my Mac Pro 1.1 will work with the new hardware I installed.
Your problem could just be the power cord but I agree with you that doesn't sound right, when I mentioned faulty switch I meant the part where the power cord meets the power button, the unit which houses the power distribution, I thought at first that it could be faulty but changed my mind because of the computer overheating.
I don't know if this is of any help to you but I hope your trouble will be solved with the new cord. -

Locate your iPad close to your wifi router and see if the problem persists.

I have done several "attempted downloads, and see the full file download, typically taking 30 minutes to complete, and then something goes wrong.
I am happy to suspend AV and FW software, but would like to know if it is a good fix or not first?

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Hi everyone, I'm having a really annoying problem in installing iTunes 11.0.3. I use a Dell laptop with windows 8 installed. I tried to download iTunes 11.0.3 for Windows 64 bit on apple.com. The size is actually 85Mb, but my downloads keep downloading the 77.5Mb version. So when I installed it turns out to be iTunes 10.2.1.1, the problem is iTunes 10.2.1.1 can't even recognize my iPad and I can't sync anything to it right now. Please help me because this problem is really getting on my nerves. Thank you
I tried the back-up and restore option tonight and it worked a charm.
Not sure why I had the problem in the first place but that was a relatively quick and easy fix :-)

This is not right, it wasn't asked for and it is dominating access to your earlier software. Also my copy of Photoshop Elements is not working at all, it just wanders off into la-la land on even basic operations. What are you going to do to correct this lamentable situation? and when ?

I do apologise to members of this forum for my display of bad temper, it was generated by a series of problems with my system and this one from Adobe just took the biscuit and I thought I had finally reached Adobe. My fingers are poised over the phone this morning awaiting the start of the working day.
One thing that I cannot explain is that this series of trial programs, not clear in the updater, from Adobe is that it seems to have damaged my copy of Elements 10. I cannot put text onto pictures. I have tried uninstalling and reinstaling Elements 10 to no avail. Anyway we will see what they say.
