Do i need to buy iphoto 11 if i have iphoto 8

do i need to buy iphoto 11 if i have iphoto 8

You sound like you're in the high-school debating club.
This seems to be an issue of semantics - when I say "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)", I mean "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)". When you use that phrase, you seem to mean "Not full screen photo editing (not being able to use the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)".
While you're perfectly free to define black as white, don't be surprised when it causes confusion. Let me spell it out for you as clearly as I can:
In iPhoto 09, you can use the full screen to see and edit your photo.
In iPhoto 11, you cannot.
That is a loss of functionality.
To be honest I have not looked at it in a couple of month - I am genuinely interested in whether the bugs in 11 have been fixed - I'm excited that they have fixed the 10 photo limit - that's certainly progress - the same for the side-by-side comparison editing - although I presume the toolbar bug is still present there?
Thanks!

I need help buying iPhoto  photo album. iPhoto was built in to my iMac. I am supposed to be able to make picture albums using my photos. It won't let me purchase the photo album i just made. I can't find any kind of help anywhere. Please help

If you have iPhoto '08 or older it is no longer supported for print products
If you have iPhoto '09 or '11 reboot, launch iphoto and
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
If the preview s good and you can not order boot into safe mode, preview again and order

Yes, and you need to be at lion level in the os.... AND you need to have an intel chip set greater than intel duo core to run lion.   Don't make my mistake and buy iPhoto 11 only to discover I need to upgrade to lion (which I can't on both of my macs!)

    Hi meliniesittigLCSW,
Where are you seeing that message? Do you already have Acrobat installed? If not, you can install it by following the instructions in this document: Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps

  • Do i still need to buy it, even though I have mountain lion for a few weeks now?

Do I still need to buy Mountain Lion, even though I have the beta version now? And if so, will it let me upgrade it?

    Where did you get it?
If via the Apple Develeoper Connection or AppleSeed, and you have build 12A269, you don't need to do anything.
If you got it elsewhere, you may also have malware.

  • Do i need to buy two licence when i have a 4507 chassis with 2 Sup4?

I have to run enterprise software version on my 4507 with redundant Sup4. Do i have to buy two time the enterprise software package, or is one enough?
    best regards
    Oliver

Oliver, One is enough for you.
You can use the same package and it should work for you.
If it doesnot let you copy from it second time, you can take a backup of the IOS image form the first sup and TFTP it back again to your second sup.

  • I have OSX Lion 10.7.5 and iphoto 11 9.2.1 I have spent 3 days making a book for christmas and when I go to buy it I am told I need to update iPhoto.  I went to apps and clicked on the update tab but it showed no results.  HELP!

I am trying to buy the book I created in Iphoto and it says I need to update iphoto.  I have OSX Lion 10.7.5 and Iphoto 11 9.2.1.  I don't know how to update.  I tried to follow the suggested instruction by going to Mac App, clicking on update tab but nothing was found.  I am not sure what to do.  I have spent three days creating this book for a Christmas present and I am 5 hours from the closest Apple store.  Can anyone help.  I don't mind paying for upgrades if that is what is needed I just don't know what is needed or how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Linda

Yep, just install iDVD (plus sounds and jingles) and iWeb if you want it (but note that iWeb apparently won't work if you upgrade to Mountain Lion).
Then use Software Update to get any late iDVD updates.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can't buy iphoto in app store; another apple id on my macbook bought it before

Hello, i bought a used macbook air. after deleting the pre owners' admin account and deleting the harddisk i install OS X lion again. After that i wanted to buy iphoto in app store to use photostream on my macbook. But in the app store it wasn't possible to buy. The button says only "accept" and when i click on it i have to login with my apple id. after this a notification windows opens which says i'm not able to accept because another apple id (from pre owner) bought it before. i don't know his id  or password. but there is no possibility to buy it again in the store. it's just to accept but doesn't work...
what can i do   please halp me!

You will also find the Mac OS X Lion on your new-to-you Mac is tied to the previous owner's Apple ID. The two of you together need to contact Apple Care and request that Mac OS X Lion and the bundled iLife apps be releaed from his Apple ID, so that they can be accepted into your Apple ID.

  • Before upgrading my system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion I had taken a backup of iPhoto in my external drive. But now when I try to open that package, I'm directed to app store to buy new iPhoto. How can I retrieve my photos without buying iPhoto?

Before upgrading my system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion I had taken a backup of iPhoto library in my external drive. But now when I try to open that package, I'm directed to app store to buy new iPhoto. Why would apple install iPhoto by default with Snow Leapord and make us import all our photos in it at the first place, and now ask for money if we want to retrieve our photos back on mountain lion? What if they make contacts a paid app with the next OS upgrade, and then bully us to pay money if we want our contacts? This is something very dissappointing on Apple's part. I need answers here.

I fail to remember if the installer gave me an option to keep my applications.
The Mountain Lion installer will not delete applications. It will only mark applications, that are not compatible with your current system with a "forbidden" sign in the icon. And you cannot launch them.
Does your iPhoto icon in the Applications folder look like this?
Then your iPhoto version is incompatible and cannot run with Mt. Lion. If it is iPhoto '11, with a versionnumber starting with 9.x.x., you can upgrade it by downloading a newer version from the Apple downloads site  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1650.
But if you have 8.x.x, you need to buy an upgrade.

  • Need to install Iphoto for 10.8.5.

I need to install Iphoto for 10.8.5. Where can I download it?  I'm willing to pay for it. I just don't know where to get it.  Apple only has the version that works with Mavericks and I have had a bad experience with Mavericks and don't want to go near it.  Thanks.

If the computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, not including Mac OS X Server, install it from the computer's original disks.
If the computer shipped with Mac OS X 10.7 or newer, go to the Mac App Store main page, click on Support under Quick Links, contact Apple, and see what they say.
If desired, buy an iLife 11 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
