Do I need to deactivate Premiere Elements 7 on Vista in order to upgrade to Win7?

Hi there.
I have a quick question. I bought Premiere Elements 7 last month and here is the situation.
I will be installing it on my laptop. That part is fine.
I just bought a Dell desktop computer and would like to install it on there as well. BUT, when Windows 7 comes out, I plan to upgrade to that from Vista. So I would like to install on the desktop for Vista, and then on Windows 7.
My question:  Is there an activation? How would I do that? Just install the program and then the activation code (is it verified online)? And when I upgrade to Windows 7, I 'deactivate' it or something?
Thanks,
Ronald

You can activate this software on 2 computers but cannot use the software on both the systems at the same time.
You can activate a product in maximum two computers. Hence, in order to activate a product on third computer, first you need to deactivate the software in the previous computer.

  • Need to deactivate Premiere Elements 10?

I got a new laptop and downloaded my Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10. However, I got a message when I opened Premiere telling me that I needed to deactivate it on another computer. But I can't figure out how to deactivate!
Also, I'm not sure if it's connected with my needing to deactivate or if it's just the computer, but I can't use any of the links on the Premiere menu on the old laptop, and I can't log in to my Adobe ID on either.
    Can someone help me out?
PS: If it matters any, my new laptop is running on Windows 8 and the old one is 7.

Adobe permits you to use your Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on only 2 of your computers. If you want to put that serial number on a 3rd computer then you have to "Deactivate" the installation on computer 1 or 2 to get this Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on computer 3.
By the message that you are getting on computer 3, you are telling us that your Premiere Elements 10 is on more than 2 of your computers already (computer 1 and 2) and you want to install it on another (the 3rd computer).
So, where do you have Premiere Elements 10 installed?
Go to one of those Premiere Elements 10 computer setups. Open Premiere Elements 10 to its workspace. Go to Help Menu/Deactivate and click on Deactivate to do just that. Close out of there. At this point, you can
    a. leave the program installed but deactivated on computer 1 or 2 as the case may be
    or
    b. uninstall it from computer 1 or 2 as the case mya be.
Please review and let us know if the above is clear and works for you.
    Thanks.

Where did you purchase Premiere Elements 11?
Do you have a purchased serial number that you have been able to confirm at Adobe as existing in its records?

  • I can't deactivate premiere elements 9

I have premiere elements installed on a macbook and pc.  I want to deactivate one account and install on new macbook pro.  I have read the instructions however when I go to help button deactivate is not highlighted on either the pc or mac.

Wish I had come here before contacting Adobe for support. They didn't mention this at all, only told me to contact them if I have problems re-activating on new computer.

  • Getting Premiere Elements 11 to install on my upgraded OS (Vista to Win 7)

I recently upgraded my PC to run Win 7 (64 bit).  I did a clean install of the OS so I need to reload my software.  I purchased PhotoShop Elements 11 with Premiere last year.  Both ran well on my Vista 64 bit OS.  PhotoShop installed with out a problem but the installer gives me this excuse for not installing Premiere. "This installer does not support installation on a 64-Bit Windows operating system. If you are installing by browsing through the disk content, then please run the "Setup.exe" from the folder "Adobe Premiere Elements 11\PRE 64".  If you are not installing from the disks please download the 64-Bit version of Premiere Elements 11."  Odd message since it had no problem installing and running on Vista 64bit.
I don't have a disk so can anyone tell me where I can find the 64-Bit version of Premiere Elements 11 to download?

You can download the 64-bit trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Premiere Elements 9 running extremely slow on Core i7 Win7 Quadro system

    Hello,
We've had a single installation of Premiere Elements 9 for some time now and for love nor money we've been unable to get it working properly, i've tried all manner of driver combinations for graphics and motherboard and the problems persist. Basically, the software refreshes extremely slowly, you can't even consider scrubbing the timeline, this happens regardless of what is placed on the timeline, it can be a series of tiny little jpegs all the way up to 1080p mp4 or even raw video, Premiere Elements just does not want to play ball. Now, I trialled the software on another PC of bog-standard spec with built-in graphics card and it ran very well but on our MediaPC it is totally unusable. Any help at all would be apprciated/ The spec of the PC is as follows (plus all software and drivers are up-to-date):
    Windows 7 64bit (6.1.7600)
    Core i7 950
    8GB RAM
    NVidia Quadro FX1800 (8.17.12.9573)
And we're using media files that are stored locally.
    Many thanks
    Andy

What project settings are you selecting when you start up your Premiere Elements project? If you're selecting the correct project settings for your video, there will be NO red lines above your clips when you add them to your timeline. Is that the case in your project?
You say you're using .mp4s as you source video, and that could be part of the problem. Most .mp4 formats (from smart phones or pocket camcorders, with the exception of the Flip) are not supported natively in Premiere Elements. What make and model of device produced this video?
Also, you say your video is 1080p, which is also not supported by the program. HD video to be edited in Premiere Elements must be shot in 50i or 60i. Progressive scan frame rates in AVCHD files are not supported in version 9.
Finally, you say the program even chokes on photos. Have you ensured that your photos are no larger than 1000x750 pixels? Even "small" JPEGs can be many times this size, and soft-rendering this video source can also choke the program.
With a good match between source video and project settings, the program should fly like an eagle on your hardware.

  • Need to deactivate Premiere on a computer

    Hello,
I had Adobe Premiere CS3 installed and activated on two computers. I mainly used one computer and forgot about it being installed on the second one. I then tried to install it on a new computer that I just purchased but the activation failed because it was already activated on the two previous ones.
So I uninstalled Premiere on one of the two older computers but didn't de-activate it (I thought that would happen when I did the uninstall). So now I still can't install it on my new computer because it still says I have too many activations. Apparently it never got de-activated when I did the uninstall.
So how do I de-activate my other computer's copy (which it's no longer installed)?
    Thanks.
    Mike

OK, you have three computers, A, B & C. You had PrPro installed and Activated on A & B. You wanted to install and Activate it on computer C, but can only have two instances of that one license Activated.
You uninstalled, without de-Activation on computer A, but still have it (where you want it) on computer B. Without the de-Activation of computer A's license, you still cannot install and Activate on compuer C.
The course of action would be to reinstall it on computer A, and confirm the Activation, which still shows on that computer and on Adobe's records. Once done, de-Activate it officially and then uninstall it. This frees up one instance of that license. Once done, install on computer C and Activate the now remaining license. Yes, it's an extra reinstall, check Activation, de-Activate and uninstall, but that is the only way around it, unless TS can de-Activate the license on computer A, without reinstalling. Only they can help you there.
Personally, I'd just bite-the-bullet and do the reinsatall, de-Activate, uninstall.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How come Adobe Premiere Elements 8 doesn't offer an upgrade price?

I just called Adobe and they said Pre 8 is a standalone program but is offered at $79.99 after a twenty dollar rebate. It would have loved to have been able to purchase it as an upgrade and be priced accordingly. Oh well…..

My local Best Buy had PRE8 in combo with PE8 for $75 in last Sunday's circular.  I think you had to submit the rebate for that price, though I'm not certain.

  • I need to identify my Satellite L300-10Q in order to upgrade it

    Hello,
I have an aging Satellite laptop I was considering to upgrade. Unfortunately I can't find reliable information about it. I tried to find the model in different Toshiba european websites using the automatic search, the serial number and the manual searching to no avail.
My model doesn't appear in the support sections nor the discontinued products sections, although I cand find pretty older models in the latter.
These are the model, part number and serial numbers I have:
    Model: Satellite L300-10Q
    Part Number: PSLB0E-00901VCE
    Serial Number: 38212076Q
The "closest" model I've found is the "Satellite Pro L300-10P" in the Spanish website
    http://www.toshiba.es/discontinued-products/satellite-pro-l300-10p/
It has the same hardware specifications than my laptop, the only difference I found in the description is the OS version. It seems that this model is limited to 2Gb of RAM at max (already preinstalled).
Do you think that my device could have that same limitation? Is there any other site to look for my laptop specifications?
I mean, a reliable one (I can find my model using Google, but the results are all prehistoric advertisements of vendors that copypasted the (who knows its origin) same information.
Also, is it possible to replace the original HDD with a SSD? I think the interface is SATA (150 MB/s), maybe it's not worth it.
Thank you in advance... and excuse my poor writing skills in english.
    Regards

Why you dont install some hardware diagnostic tools like Everest Home Edit or the Sandra Sisoft to get all the details about your hardware parts?
Both tools are freeware and can be downloaded from different pages.
Such tools help you to identify the built in parts and you could also get information about the hardware properties: i.e chipset, CPU, HDD controller (SATA), etc
By the way; the chipset seems to be the Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset and such chipset supports max 2GB RAM

  • Need to deactivate elements

i need to deactivate Premire Elements to reinstall on second computer.... don't see where the deactive tab is

    danschnarr
What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running.
Typically, for more recent versions, you would go to the opened project and Help Menu/Deactivate. Close out of the project. And, then you would uninstall via the classical Control Panel route.
You might also find a deactivate option to check in the course of the uninstall. But I would make sure to do the one in the opened project nonetheless as well as any deactivate in the uninstall dialogs.
Please let us know if the above answered your question.
You are allowed the same purchased serial number on two of your computers. So, I would ask, are you talking about a second computer here or a third?

Lots of conflicting information, but let us see if any can be sorted out.
    1. You have a new Mac Book Pro computer, and you are trying to install Premiere Elements 10 Mac on it.
    a. Is the installation disc an Adobe installation disc that specifically says "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 & Adobe Premiere Elements 10" and is further labelled DISC 3 OF 5? If not, then I am guessing that you have an unauthorized copy. Did the sale to you go through Adobe with regard to transferring the license from the "someone" online seller to you?
    b. Adobe allows a purchased serial number for the product to be used on no more than 2 of the users computers. So, a possibility might exist where the seller did not deactivate the product from his/her computer before sending you the product. But, if that were the case, I suspect you would be blocked by a message about too many copies of the serial number on your computers.
    c. When you said that the "Photoshop CD installed perfectly", are you referring to Photoshop Elements 10? And, please confirm whether you installed this Photoshop Elements 10 from the same installation disc as the one that you are using for the Premiere Elements Install.
    d. In the absence of any of the above possibilities, there are special issues to be addressed with installing Premiere Elements 10 Mac. Those are defined in the link that I have cited already.
    e. Besides all the rest, Premiere Elements 10 and QuickTime need to be run under Administrator Privileges. So, you need to set that up. Unless someone steps forward here to detail how to do that with your Mac Computer, please check this out with the Best Buy people. I am strictly an Elements Windows user otherwise I would be giving you a step by step on that aspect of the matter. But, check out the following online link to see if it is helpful with regarding to setting these permissions
    http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2592
    f. Do no presume that your video card is up to date. Verify that at the web site of the web site of the manufacturer of the video card, the computer manufacturer, or Best Buy Geek Squad. Since you purchased the computer there, they should be very helpful with these details of Administrator Privileges and video card/graphics card update. Do you know how many video cards/graphics cards your computer has and at least one is NVIDIA?
    g. You will need to explain how an "Elements 12" got into the mix. If you want to update Premiere Elements 10, then you need to purchase a serial number for Premiere Elements 12. All the Premiere Elements versions are standalone programs. "Upgrading" related to them refers to a pricing matter rather than updating the existing software.
Please review and then we can decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements 12 problem

I have recently purchesed Premiere Elements 12 on to my old pc which has windows XP on it and has seemingly incompatible display drivers. I cannot get the drivers now. Is it possible for me to some-how re-load the editing program onto my Lap-top instead? I have already paid for Elements 12 but never got the chance to use it.

    Wullie Broon
    Supplement to Yes.
How did you purchase Premiere Elements 12, as a purchased online download or from an installation disc in a boxed packaging of the product?
Whatever the case on that point, please see if you can remedy your Premiere Elements 12 Windows XP situation by deleting the BadDrivers.txt file. In Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit, it can be found:
    Local Disk C
    Documents and Settings
    All Users
    Application Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file for version 12 that you delete. This Premiere Elements Folder may have some folders in it. You do not want anything in those folders in the Premiere Elements Folder. You just want the BadDrivers.txt file in that Premiere Elements Folder named in the path above. Make sure that you are set up with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
If that does not work and you need to install Premiere Elements 12 on your laptop, then
    a. Deactivate Premiere Elements 12 from XP
    b. If you have no further plans for Premiere Elements 12 on XP, then uninstall it via the Control Panel route.
My concern is what you have in the way of Premiere Elements 12 installation files. If you purchased the program as an online download and you downloaded to Windows XP 32 bit computer, I am not sure if those files will be applicable for installation on a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit system. Best check with Adobe Chat on that by clicking on the following link. When it opens, click on the statement "Still Need Help? Contact Us" to bring up the Adobe Chat on the topic of Serial number issues or activating my product. If you purchased download files from Adobe, you might also get help under the topic of Orders, Refunds, and Exchanges.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=serial-number-issues-o r-activating-my-product
Do you still have the original download files or installation disc and purchased serial number?
