Do I need to delete my photo,s once I have downloaded them on to my computer?

do i need to delete my photo,s from my iphone after saving on to a computer? will this create space?

Always recommended to keep your camera roll empty...import the photos...delete from your camera roll. If you want the photos on your phone, sync them back to your phone. Camera roll is designed for temporary storage only.

If they were deleted from your camera roll that should have resulted in a corresponding decrease in the estimated size of your next backup.
If it's still saying that you don't have enough storage to back up, read through this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.  It provides some suggestions for reducing your iCloud storage, such as deleting unneeded email.
The other area to look at is your text messages.  These are included in the backup.  If you have lots of photos and videos attached to your messages, that can significantly increase the size of your backup.  If that's the case, deleting these may make a big difference.

  • A friend of mine was recently in an accident and we need to delete some photos from her iPhone's "Photo Stream From my Computer" album, but cannot figure out a way to do it (there's no delete button). Help?

A friend of mine was recently in an accident and we need to delete some photos from her iPhone's "Photo Stream From my Computer" album, but cannot figure out a way to do it (there's no delete button). Help?

Sounds like it was synced from her computer using iTunes.  Connect the phone to her computer, open iTunes, click on the name of her phone in iTunes, go to the Photos tab and see if this folder is checked.  If so, unchecking it and syncing will remove them all, or deleting/moving the photos from the folder on her computer and syncing will remove the deleted/moved photos.

  • I copied some photos from the main album to a new album. And I need to delete these photos from the main album so as to have them only to the new album. When I select the photos and choose delete I get the answer DELETE EVERYWHERE

Ι copied some photos from the main album to a new album. And I need to delete these photos from the main album so as to have them only to the new album. When I select the photos and choose delete I get the answer DELETE EVERYWHERE. I don't have the choice to delete it only from the main album.

You mean you copied photos from your camera roll to a new album, correct? Well, that's the way it works. The photos wern't actually copied to your new album, just pointers to the actual photos, which are still in your camera roll. So, yes, if you delete from your camera roll, you remove them from your phone.

Connect the iPod to your computer. Click on the iPod under Devices and iTunes. How large is the "other" category as shown in the colored bargraph? If larger than about 3/4 GB, restore the iPod. That large of "other" indicates corrupted files.

  • I downloaded the trial version of LR 5 just to get a feel of LR 5. However, now that I have bought it, it has all my photos in a mess and I need to delete all photos and start with a blank LR...Help!

How do I save my photos and then reimport them??

You can create a new catalog which will be empty File->New Catalog. There is no SAVE command in Lightroom, so in general you don't need to SAVE your photos. If you have done some editing of the photos, and you want that to show up in the new catalog, select the photos and then Ctrl/Cmd-S to save the metadata with the photos.
If all your photos are "in a mess" (whatever that means), you might consider learning how to organize in Lightroom by getting rid of that mess using Lightroom methods. But generally, if you are beginning and your photos are all "in a mess", then creating a new catalog and importing again will result in the same mess. You would need to identify what you did wrong, and fix that.

Photos than came from computer will need to be uncheck on computer then do a sync to delete.
You can only delete photos from your Camera Roll directly.

  • I have the Dropbox App on my iPhone 5.  I don't need all of the photos, and my Dropbox is full.  How do I remove photos and, where do I move them to on my computer?

I have the Dropbox App on my iPhone 5, for my photos.  I don't need all of the photos to be on my phone, and my Dropbox is full.  How do I remove photos and, where do I move them to on my computer?

If you have DropBox installed on your computer, you should already have those images in a folder corresponding to the cloud folder structure. Simply copy the from there to any folder you wish them to be in.
And, if you delete them from the dropbox folder, then sync dropbox, they will be removed from all of your devices.
You might want to login to dropbox and have a look at the instructional tours.

  • How can I delete multiple photos at once from the official Photos app?

    Dear fellow Apple users,
I have many pictures on my Camera Roll in Apple's Photos app. What's the quickest way to delete multiple photos at once?
Thus far, I know how to delete photos one by one, but that's time-consuming.
    Thank you.

No not box with arrow, that is share button.  Edit is where it shows in the pic I posted

I deleted a photos from iphoto, later I found them in imoive, how do I move the photos back to iphoto?

    Hi Canadian Beaver Tail!
You may want to try restoring the photo in iPhoto, using the instructions suggested in the following article:
iPhoto '11: Delete or restore a photo
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2398
    To restore a deleted photo:
If you haven’t yet emptied the iPhoto Trash, do the following:
Select Trash in the Source list.
Select the photo you want to restore.
Choose Photos > “Restore to Photo Library.”You can also drag the item out of the Trash into an empty part of the Source list.
If you use Time Machine to back up your computer, you can recover a photo, an Event, a folder, an album, a project (such as a book, card, or calendar), or a slideshow even if you deleted it from the library and emptied it from the Trash. To restore photos, quit iPhoto, open the folder containing your iPhoto library, and then open Time Machine. To open Time Machine, click its icon in the Dock, or click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar and choose Enter Time Machine. For more information on using Time Machine, see the topics in Help Center. In the Finder, choose Help > Help Center, and then search for “Time Machine.”
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden

  • I can't connect to my MacBook becaus it won't boot. Then my iPad says I need to delete some stuff to be able to download any.thing. I know I have room but is it possible to delete without connecting?

I can't connect to my MacBook because I can't get THAT to start. It just sits in it's blue screen With the apple, spinning it's gear. All this happened after I used mackeeper. If anyone can help with that, I'd appreciate it. I've tried starting in safe mode, resetting everything but nothing happens. It's not the kernel, ive delt with that  it looks like it's going to boot but it won't.  Then there's  my iPad which says I need to delete some stuff to be able to download anything. I know I have room on there but there are 2copies of a movie and I'd like to delete one of them.  Is it possible to delete anything on the ipad without connecting to MacBook?  I do have an appt later in the week but if I could fix this myself that would save me a couple hours driving time. Thanks for anyone's help in both of these matters.

Be sure Safari does not have the Block Pop-Up Windows preference set.
Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.

You cannot backup photos to iCloud.
You can enable Photo Stream (in Settings > iCloud) but only for 30 days and only a max of 1000 photos.
Then what does this mean? It was copied from the kb article that I posted above.
Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
    Tap iCloud.
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
In the Backups section, tap your device.
In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage.

There's no way to delete all message threads at one go. You can however do one contact thread at a time.
In Messages app where you see a list of messages from different contacts,  tap Edit (top left), tap the red (on the left), then tap the red Delete button on the right.
