Do I need to delete/uninstall my CS2 version of Photoshop?

Do I need to delete/uninstall my old CS2 version of Photoshop on my iMac before I install (via disc) my new CS6 Extended Photoshop?

no. but if you do plan to uninstall and want to use it on some other computer, it's a good idea to deactivate (help>deactivate) it first.

    No, uninstalling is not required.

CS2 version is only compatible with till Windows XP, If you trying to install on new Operating system, it might will give you errors.
Also the activation server is not available for CS2 versions.

  • I want to delete/uninstall an older version to bring up the newest version. How do I do this?

What more details do you need? I want to uninstall an older version of Firefox and install 4.0X. But cannot seem to be able to get rid of 3.04

OK, here I am replying to myself but perhaps others may gain from this solution. Remember, this original post was "how to stop Adobe preventing me from installing an older version and forcing me to take the latest version...". I just wanted to re-install an older version to prevent big CPU usage and stuttering video. Well, this is what fixed it for me an allowed me to install Adobe Flash V9...
Assuming you have properly uninstalled Adobe Flash Player v10.n, you need to remove a folder and files from your registry. If you are unhappy to do this, then ask an expert - the registry is not somewhere you want to get lost in. I am also assuming you have the correct system permissions, Anway this is what I did:
    1. Go to start button and find (and run) REGEDIT.EXE
    2. Rather than give you a specific path to follow, it is best to simply use REGEDIT to find the folder by clicking "Edit" then "Find".
    3. You are looking for a folder called "SafeVersions".
    4. When you find it, it may show a number of safe versions (previous loads of the player).
    5. From the left window pane, right click on the aforementioned folder then click "Delete"
    6. Respond to any prompts you might get, like, "do you want to do this..." etc.
    7. Close down all applications in the normal manner and reboot.
    8. When restarted, go back on line and download the V9 (or whatever version you want). You'll know its a good 'un as it loads in a fraction of the time.
    9. Go back to your web page or whatever and, hey presto, everything is back to what it was before that hungry V10.n was uploaded.
Hope that helps, it might be nice if the Adobe uninstaller deleted this registry entry, but it doesn't - or at least in Win7 on my PC, it didn't.
Let me know it the above works for you.
    Thanks and good luck

  • Uninstalling a trial version of Photoshop CS6

I have an old trial version of Photoshop CS6 on my Mac Book Pro that I want to uninstall.  It's from last year so I can't remember very well what the deal is but it's not even set up on this device anymore although I did have it activated for awhile and it worked great.  Anyhow, I just want it off without screwing up my computer.  I looked in Applications/Adobe/Utilities for uninstall but didn't find it there.  Should I look somewhere else?  Is it safe to drag the disc image to the trash by any chance?  Thanks.

Please run the Cleaner tool also to remove Ps  :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
This would ensure you do not have any issue installingPs in future..

  • Uninstalling 32 bit version of Photoshop CC

Why do you have to install both 32 & 64 bit versions of programs?  In InDesign & Illustrator, you can uninstall the 32 bit versions using the Windows uninstaller but it won't let you do this in Photoshop; would be good if you were given the choice when installing to save your download quota and drive space.

I would recommend reviewing the following documents:

  • Uninstalling a trial version of Photoshop Elements 10

    I have Photoshop Elements 8 (PSE ) & Premiere Elements 8 (PRE 8) installed.
I want to install a trial version of PSE 10 but not PRE 10.
If I do the install of PSE 10 must I convert my catalogs created in PSE 8 to PSE10 catalogs in order to carry out my assessment of PSE 10?
If the answer is "yes" and I decide I don't want the upgrade do I uninstall PRE 10 to revert to PSE 8?
What happens to the converted catalogs when I revert to PSE 8? How do I get them back to their pre PSE 10 conversion state?

You'll lose the information about the new photos.
The thing to keep in mind is that the Organizer is a database program.  It keeps the info about the location of your actual photos, and keywords, and albums, etc., in its database tables.
So, if you start with a new, empty PSE10 catalog (database) and add photo information to it that new information will only exist in the new PSE10 catalog.  There's no way to bring information from your old PSE8 catalog into that new PSE10 catalog while keeping the new PSE10 info.
You've almost got it right about converting your old catalog -- if you decide to keep PSE10, in PSE10 you use the Catalog Manager window to browse to your PSE8 catalog and tell PSE10 to convert it.

  • Do I need to uninstall older version of Photoshop first?

Nowhere in the FAQs or Install instrucitons, either the text or video install instructions, can I find any reference to the need or lack of the need, to uninstall an older version of Photoshop prior to downloading and installing the newer version. Specifically I will be upgrading from CS2 to CS5.
Should I then assume it is not necesary? And if so would it be wise once the upgrade is done, that then I should uninstall CS2?
    Thanks
Forgot to mention I am using an older but competant desktop which funtions fine using CS2. Windows 32 bit, XP Sp3 Home Edition, 2.56GB RAM.

There is no need to uninstall CS2 before or after. You might find that some things are easier to do in CS2, creating PDF presentations etc. (now moved to Bridge)

  • Need info about cs and cs2.

i have several copies of creative suite cs, photoshop cs, illustrator cs and illustrator cs2.
but now adobe take down the server so i cant activate anymore.
but i found the download link that adobe provide with serial.
    my question is:
    1) my version is cs, can i still use the cs2 that adobe giv?
    2) if cs cant use the cs2 that adobe provide, how do i activate the cs version?
    3) the serial csn be use on multiple pc?
    thanks

I ran into this problem last night, my Photoshop CS (Windows version) lost its activation at some point since the time it was used last about a week ago. Coincidently, I had installed a new version of Norton Internet Security during this time, and thought it had something to do with this problem. I tried turning off Norton, but it made no difference trying to reactivate Photoshop. Apparently, sometime around 12/13/12 to 12/15/12, Adobe shut down the server that supports CS & CS2 product activations.
Whether Norton affected the original Adobe Product activation or not is a moot point (Symantec denies their product it at fault), as it is now no longer possible to reactivate the CS version, either by internet or phone. I logged into my Adobe account, followed the link to the CS2 activation fix, I didn't find anything for supportting CS, but decided to try downloading the CS2 version of Photoshop. It installed and a ran fine with the new key Adobe provided.
The biggest thing is that I got lucky in getting the fix, and while the Adobe phone support guy said he couldn't support my old CS product, he did give me the web link to find the work-around. While it was frustrating to lose use of my original CS product, I guess I can't complain as I got a minor version upgrade that appears to work fine at no cost.

  • Need Help for Installing TK ACTIONS PANEL for PHOTOSHOP CC

I recently just subscribed to Photoshop CC. And the first thing I try to do is to install the TK ACTIONS PANEL into photoshop.  I did what I used to do with CS5 to install the TK ACTIONS PANEL. I follow the instruction the same way, but I couldn't get the panel install. Instead I got a message " Load panel xml error Error #2032 ". Please HELP!!!

Panel extensions were are developed using Adobe configurator and there were several versions and there needs to be a different install developed for each panel extension for each version of Photoshop there seems to be no compatibility between Photoshop versions each gets it own copy of everything.  I developed a panel for one of my packages but don't use it or distribute it. Instead I just link Photoshop Scripts path to my scripts path and use a single copy of my scripts for all versions of Photoshop, I address Photoshop incompatible change in my scripts maintain a single script by adding code to test for Photoshop version in functions that need to be coded for various versions of Photoshop,

  • Need to Uninstall CS, CS2, CS3, CS4 - Uninstall Tool Missing

We've been with Adobe for a long time.
We're upgrading computers and Mac OS on all to Mavericks.
Would like to clean up in the process.
Would like to thoroughly UNINSTALL all CS, CS2, CS3, and CS4 products on all computers.
We are currently using CS5.  And, after installing Mavericks, will install CS6 Design Standard.
Most threads point to using the UNINSTALL TOOL ... but no one seems to have a link to where to get it?
It is not in the folders that everyone says it should be.  I do not have it.
I hesitate to just DRAG the folders to the trash.  I'd prefer a tool that will UNINSTALL proper plists, etc. ... not just trash the AP folder.
    Anyone?

    I have already been there.
    1.  In my Adobe Installers folder, there are only alias' folders for "Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium", for "Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium", for "Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium" and for "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit 2.1".  When I "Show Original" and go there and try to OPEN the folder to run the uninstaller ... nothing opens.  When I search for "Adobe Uninstaller", nothing is found.
    2. I have downloaded and run the Cleaner Tool for CS3 and 4 ... but it was very very fast (didn't see a progress bar while it was working as expected) and CS3 and 4 are still in my applications folder.  There was a message on one of them something about "support file missing".
So, this doesn't seem to have worked ... again.
In our office, we used to "trickle down" computers.  The person with the oldest computer gets the new on and his goes to someone else.  The problem with this has been that the person giving away the computer has been required to "clean it up" before passing it on and people haven't known HOW to do this.  Thus, the missing uninstallers, etc.
So ... I want to delete (thoroughly) CS, CS2, CS3 and CS4, including Bridge, Device Central, Extension Manager, Drive, Fireworks, Flash, Media Encoder, Stock Photos, Version Cue, SupportAdvisor ap.
Can I simply "drag to trash"?  I suspect not.  But unistallers don't seem to be present and cleaner tool doesn't seem to work.
Are the instructions for "manual" removal of all files?
    Thank you.

  • How do I delete uninstalled Apps from the iPhone app list that is shown inside iTunes on my PC after sychronizaton?

To clarify and to not receive the answers of those who doesn't read more than 2 lines of a post: I am not asking how can I delete backups to free space in iCloud nor how to hide the purchase history!!! those things I already know...
to be clearer please let me explain what I mean by "list inside the iTunes of my PC". To access the list to which I am reffering you must take this steps:
    1) Connect the iPhone to the PC. This should open iTunes if not already opened and activate the synchronization between iPhone and PC.
    2) After syncronization and eventual backup in the iTunes window on the top right side it appears the tab "iPhone".
    3) Click said tab "iPhone" to see its content. In the top bar you can see 9 tabs: "Summary", "Info", "Apps", "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", "Books", "Photos" and "On This iPhone".
    4) Click the 3rd tab, the one named "Apps", in this window on the left side you have the full list of the apps and on the right side you can see how these apps are arranged inside the device (inside home screens and folders).
I am referring to this particular list, the one on the left side of this page. See, I ricently run out of space in my iCloud so I decided tidy things up. I deleted all of the old backups both form iCloud and from PC and I hid all of the Apps that I no longer use from my purchase history.
now, the point is, every time I go to this particular list I can still find all of the apps, even those uninstalled from the device and removed from the purchase history...
In this list the apps that are still installed on my divece have got the "remove" button at its side and those which are not have got the "install" button... my point is that I went to great lengths to clean everything and still I can't seem to find a way to remove unwanted apps from this particular list...
I do suspect that it is because I have to restore some registry inside the iPhone itself... The point is that I don't want these apps to appear on this list anymore but I don't know how to clear it... Any help? Have I been clear?
    thanks

That list includes all the apps that you installed to your device directly from iTunes on the computer, or which were purchased on the iOS device and subsequently transferred to iTunes on the computer.
If you right click on any item in that list and choose "Show in Windows Explorer" it will open your iTunes application installer directory on your computer, which should be:
    C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
In there are all your saved application installers (*.ipa files).  You need to delete those actual installer bundles and then make sure to NOT allow the "transfer purchased content" when you sync or backup in iTunes (as that will just put them back on your hard drive).
One caveat to removing those, is that if you ever wish to keep a specific release of a particular app, and the developer replaces the iTunes/App store version with something else, your sole source for your older version will be your own stored copy of it.  So for example, when PDF expert released their iOS 7 update, and charged everyone full price for it, if you wished to keep using the previous version on your own devices, then you needed to keep a copy of the installer on your own computer as that older version is no longer available in the store front.
