Do I need to download a programme to enable me to install my CS6 standard suite?
I have downloaded CS6 standard suite from adobe but when I click to open it says I don't have to right software to open in. I have an iMac. Do I need another programme installed on my computer to enable me to install the adobe suite?
It says : There is no application set up to open the document. Search the App store for an application that can open the document, or choose an existing application on your computer

I'm being told I need to download Flash player even though I have installed the latest version
I'm using a Mac with Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5, with Safari 6.0.2 as my browser. I haven't had any problems with Flash player until today. Now suddenly, when I try to view Flash content, it tells me I need to download/install the latest version of Flash Player. However, I have installed it multiple times. I even uninstalled it and re-installed it, re-started my computer, etc, and it still won't work. What else can I try??
Does this happen with all Flash content? Do you see the animation and version info when you go to this page?

If not, please go into Safari's preferences dialog, the security tab, and verify that Enable Plug-Ins is checked.

I Need To Know All Programs/Plug-ins/Files Bundled With CS2 Design Standard Suite
I am the Unit Software License Manager for my office at a government installation. I am in charge of accounting for all licensed software (both the physical CDs and the licenses/serial #s/Registration #s) being used on the computers in my office. Currently, I have a master list that shows all software used, including the main programs, plug-ins, add-ons, settings, toolkits, servers, drivers, etc., on all our stations. I need to break the list down to show which of these programs, etc., were bundled to the CS2 Design Standard suite specifically. Does anyone have any knowledge of the complete list that was bundled with CS2 Design Standard? Thanks.

Need to Download Premiere Pro CS3 (CD won't install)
Hi there,
My laptop's HDD recently crashed, and when I went to reinstall the Premiere Pro CS3 cd, I get to the screen where install progess is shown (after I've entered my S/N). The installer seems to hang on 'instaling 3rd party content' and takes FOREVER for the green bar to 'move'. Then, after hours of letting it sit, I get a window that says install has failed... pretty sure that it said 3rd party content DID install, but PP itself and something else did not. I tried twice, with the same result.
The CD is clean, no real scratches... just been sitting in its case for years.
FWIW, I'm running Vista 32bit.
I'm hoping there's some CS3 files still hidden on Adobe.com that I can DL in place of the CD.
Don't really edit from home much anymore. Just need my copy of PP to work so I can recut my resume reel, which is a fairly important task.

It appears that something is wrong with my laptop... because the downloaded file stalls at the same point as the disc. While it still says "Installing Shared components". This is when the green progress bars stop(about 10% of the way) and the HDD activiity light on the laptop stops as well.
Back when I reinstalled windows, I had some issues updating. Once I got to a certain point, one of the updates would render my laptop screen completely blank.... so after reinstalling a few times, I stopped installing updates at a certain point... though I did make it to Service Pack 2.
That's the only reason I can think of, as to why the program won't install. It's really odd.
BTW: I did shut down the antivirus while attemptinng Premiere install. -
My computer crashed and I had to reinstall windows. In the process I lost everything including the install files for Captivate 7. I would like to download them again but I cannot find them, only Captivate 8.

.dmg.part is not a complete file.. It usually indicates that the entire file has not been downloaded yet. Are you sure you downloaded the entire file? (i recommend updating itunes through > Software Update

I am currently in Ghana and am trying to download a programme to make my modem work.
When i download a new program or go to update spotify for example, in order to allow the changes my mac requires me to enter the administrator name and password.
I know the password as when i log into my computer on use this works.
However when the tab comes up to download/etc the name for the administrator does not come up, and so i copy the name that it says on the system preferences accounts information. this does not work (it is my name).

Please help??If the machine was upgraded to Lion 10.7.x by the original owner then you bought an illegal license of Lion and also of any other applications that the seller said came pre-installed, this assumes the seller did not include original install media. In that case you need to contact the seller for the original install DVDs that came with the machine re-install up to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and then purchase Mountain Lion ($20) and the applications you want or need. If the seller cannot come up with the original install discs then you can buy them from a nominal cost from AppleCare..

What files do i need to download?
I'm trying to figure out what files I need to download. I eventually want to install everything I possibly can that's available from Oracle, but I'm trying to tacle just the Database + Forms + Reports right now since that's what my college professor says I need. She also mentioned that I need a client.
I don't know why ever I would need a client to go with a server... aren't servers just big happy standalong thingers? (just kidding)
Anyway, I'm doing this under Red Hat Linux 9. I don't want to mess with personal anything... I want the full blown software. So I download the "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard Edition for Linux/IA64, Release 2 (v9.2.0.2)"
Doesn't sound like I'm getting a client with that. So where do I download the client? I see a link there that specifically says it's a client, but it's only for windows. I have windows running under win4lin, but I really really HATE to use windows. I will avoid it at all costs. Is there a client I can get for Linux? I can't tell, but it would make sense to me that it would be in with the Designer download. I'm guessing that just because the Designer is... well... the Designer. And I figure you're going to need a client to design things...
Thanks for the help, if I get any.First of all you have downloaded the wrong software. IA64 is 64 bit. If you're running on regular Intel hardware you'll need 32 bit Oracle software.
Also, if you install the database software you also can install the client software from the same set of files/cds. Install the database first, and then do a separate client installation. Select "programmer" and that will give you things like OCI and Pro*C.
I don't know anything about Designer, but it is a separate product and has to be installed in a separate ORACLE_HOME directory. I don't know if that is available for Linux.
Lastly there are a lot of problems with installing Oracle on RedHat 9. Oracle is only certifying now RedHatAS 2.1 and I think RHEL 3.0. Here is an excellent web site (you'll need it) that has workarounds and tips for all the problems you'll encounter installing Oracle on Red Hat:

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

As we can always download the programmes that we want to backup in icloud from apps directly without icloud, then what's the ultimate utility of uploading programme files to icloud?
thanks a lot!Backing up to iCloud is an alternative way for apple customers to be able to save data apart from contact, calendars, notes, etc. Now it might be pointless to you and to me, but some customers do not have computer to back up to or have their CD's that they import those songs from, so they need to save it.
To me backing up to icloud is only for 8GB iphones, any other devices will take up more than the free 5GB icloud has or you buy more storage, so it does not make sense to me or some people. -
Having had some photos done at a photographers, they have passed me the disc of the slideshow, which is in avi format, however I cannot view it on my imac, I would be really grateful if someone could advise me what software I need to download that is compatible with the imac whereby I can view the slideshow and also whether I can then save the slideshow to iphoto. Hope you can help, I am not great with technology as you can probably guess.
