If you are, it has to do with control of getting the updates and control of downloading new software. Sometimes there will be an update when someone won't want an update. Requiring the password would give someone better control over what gets installed. Or if there's new software, it will give a parent, for example, better control over what gets purchased or even just downloaded, in the case of a free app.
I'm not an Apple employee, but I'm pretty sure Apple doesn't consider it a problem. They tend to err on the side of caution, especially when money is involved. Requiring the apple id password every time definitely does that. -
Every time I download an app on one of my apple devices, it automatically goes onto both of the other devices. How do I stop this from happening?
On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.

hello .. i am using mavericks OS and it is showing it needs updates about 800 meg. and every time i download that it dosent do anything and again it is beginig to download again and again that.. please help me. the update is 10.9.2
To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step. -
How do i stop having to put my apple id in every time i download an app?
I just got my iPhone and am trying to set it up. It seems like I have to type in my Apple id every time I want to download anything, even free stuff. Is there a way to set it so that my phone stores/knows my id and can skip that step?

Based on the OPs post, he is being prompted for the password when downloading new apps, not simply when opening the app store app. Oonce the password is set in the system, your shouldn't need to add it again just to open the store, only when making a purchases (including free downloads). That is how the system is designed to work, and is not likely to change anytime soon. -
Why am I being asked to enter my apple ID every time I unlock my iPAD?
For some reason in just the last few days, each time I unlock my iPAD it is asking me to enter my Apple ID. I didn't change anytiing in my settings. I did go to settings to find something that may be causing this and cannot locate anything. This is not a major issue, other than it is simply annoying. Not sure if anyone else has run into this and has any suggesitons on how to correct it. FYI, I am using an iPAD2 on the latest SW. Thanks!
Correct, the passcode lock is not activated. So I can hit cancel when it asks me for it and continue. It isn't stopping me from doing anything but like I said, it is just one of those annoyances I would like to make go away.
I am wondering if it has something to do with a game I downloaded from the Apple Sotre called Virtual Pool. Because somethimes when I go to add a new app, I get some error messga saying the store cannot download Virtual Pool right now when I never asked it to and I already have the game loaded and working properly on my iPAD. Would that be a possible cause perhaps? The iPAD thinks I still need ot download the game when I don;t so it keeps asking me for my Apple ID? -

There are two options, the default is enter your password once every 15 minutes, the other is a restriction that asks for it every time. If you haven't activated the restriction in Settings/Restrictions/Require Password, then yours is good for 15 minutes. -
After a computer crash I had to reinstall the whole system using Migration Assistant. The User ID is NOT the same as the original computer. And now every time I reboot the computer and load Logic the program asks me to enter my Serial Number with a "Licensing" window. Why can't the copy protection see that I have already done this? Am I missing some Pref file, or is it in the wrong location? The program works fine once I enter in the number and insert my Logic XSKey (from an older update). Thanks.

Do you run automap 4.8/4.9? If so, then the chance is that automap is the culprit for slow undos/redos on LPX 10.1. Delete the Novation controller in the LPX controller surfaces. You find it under preferences/controller surfaces. If that is the solution for you, then uninstall automap. You find the uninstaller under applications-automap.

Help me i just bouth 2 mini ipads and now everythig my daugher download in one mini is downloading in the other and in my ipad 2 we have the same apple id for the 3 ipads
Do two things:
1. In Settings > iTunes & App Stores, turn off automatic downloads for Apps.
2. Assuming you sync using iTunes, turn off the automatic app syncing on the App tab when you have the iPads connected that should not receive the downloads. -

When you open Firefox navigate to facebook.com and enter your username and password. Firefox should then place a drop down from the address bar asking if you want to remember the password. Accept the saving of the password.

The topic says it all. Each time I down load an App I get a notifcation to my iphone telling me to turn on automatic syncing. I want it to stop. How do I stop it.

If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? As rex already mentioned, Apps and other content are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. No transfers. No combining Apple IDs. Forever means forever.
In practice, this means any apps you currently have - free or paid - will need to be either repurchased using your new Apple ID or downloaded again if free. Until you refresh all of your apps, your iPad will ask for credentials to the old Apple ID any time one of the apps is updated.
Why did you feel it was necessary to create a new Apple ID?
