Do I need to keep my computer on in order to keep my music on my phone?
On the actual Music App, does my laptop need to be on in order for me to access my library from my phone? I just want an easier way to keep all my songs with me when my ipod isn't?
The usual way is to sync your iPhone to your iTunes Library.
I'm not sure how your iPod fits into your question, but sync it too.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:

I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.

I am trying to downloadapps onto the iPad we just purchased, and it keeps telling me that I need to authorize my computer. I go ahead and authorize by going into iTunes/store/authorize computer, I verify the information that is given. I go back and try to redownload the apps and I get the same exact message, this computer is not authorized for this device. What am I doing wrong?
I have been trying to work through this problem by myself and have so far downloaded the most current version of iTunes. Frome there when it tells me I have to authorize this computer, I had to not put in the iPad information, I had to authorize with my current iTunes information, and any iPad or iPod, iPhone information. I have several people in the family that have different accounts, so I had to authorize each and every individual account because I didnt know which apps or music was purchased under which user. I looked in console and its saying that it may be because of Sophos Anti-Virus, i deleted and uninstalled all traces of Sophos but looked in console and this is some of the lines coming up:

Can anyone help me get my iMac to reboot? I get a gray "curtain" over the light gray start up screen with a message that I need to restart my computer and to hold the power button until it powers off and then press the power button again to restart. It just does this over and over again and won't restart.
Yeah, as necronym stated, it is a hardware issue and more than likely a RAM problem. Disconnect everything from the computer except keyboard and mouse and try again. If it still happens try removing one and/or swapping your RAM sticks over. Keep trying until you have eliminated all possible combinations. Just put a mark on one RAM stick so you know what have tried. If it still fails to boot properly you should probably replace your RAM, but that is no guarantee of success. Tried to open my old MacBook. Couldn't remember password. Followed suggestion to reinstall hardware. Now startup disk is stuck in computer and it won't turn on. I keep getting a message saying I need to restart the computer. When I hold down power button, I get the same message over and over. Any ideas?

To eject the Disc, hold the Mouse button down, (or what passes for it on a Laptop), while powering up, if you also hold the Option key down at the same time it should eject & give you a chance to insert your install disc & wait for it to shw as a Boot option.
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Tiger Mac OS X Install disc , then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, *you must select your language first.)*
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
If it appears to be time for An Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, APPs, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...

What version of iTunes are you using? The error you references seems to be connected with iTunes 9.0.4. That version of iTunes is not compatible with iOS 6. You need to update to the current version of iTunes.

Currently using Photoshop CS5, but with a replacement computer and upgrade to Yosemite, keep being told I need to install the legacy Java 6. Currently, Photoshop won't even open. I absolutely do not want to subscribe, don't want to mess with the cloud, just want to buy an upgrade to something that will run for a while longer. I don't care about Lightroom, Bridge, Illustrator, etc.; most of those I've deleted over the years. But I do use Photoshop - or would if it would still run. What options do I have?

It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.

i just bought this computer and i didnt have any problems with it. but recently whenever i connect to the wireless a small black box appears to me saying that i need to restart my computer. its even written in many languages.
ive been searching a lot about it on the internet, and i found that its a problem called "kernel panic". i read that it is caused by a software or a hardware problem. but i dont have any bad software on it. i only have office 2008 and photoshop CS4.
i hope i can hear any good news about it as i just need to know the exact problem and how to fix it, knowing that if i took it to an apple store to fix it, it might cost a lot...

Keep getting message - You need to restart your computer - iMac freezes
My iMac freezes without notice, a dark screen comes over the monitor and the message "you need to restart your computer" appears.
This happens randomly and I have no idea what causes this. I thought perhaps it was just a loose power cord, as the cord does seem quite loose.
However, it happens after the machine has been running for some time. Before I have a chance to save my work, the computer tells me it has to shut down. It's not a consistent thing, so it's hard to know if it's the cord or not.
This also happened half way through watching a DVD. Nothing was touched or moved, so it wouldn't appear that this is being caused by a loose cord.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem? (I'm running Tiger on this machine with 700+ megs of RAM plus am using a Mac keyboard. Airport is installed but not in use.Hi there,

"You need to restart your computer" message keeps appearing
After am done with my computing session, and try to shut down my computer often times, this being the 7th, the machine will not shut down but instead it will display the message "You need to restart your computer...". After i do the restart, a message appears says something like: Mac OS X failed unexpectedly. The problem is that the OS has not failed unexpectedly; i tell it to shut down but it doesn't. Would anybody have a clue as to what is causing this problem?
Notes:
No non-native software has been installed
Have not renamed system folders

new to windows 8 im getting a message that says i need to authorize this computer how do i do this using my ipod
You wouldn't be able to authorize your computer using your iPod, but Apple does have an article that can get iTunes to shut up about authroization (especially when it's already authorized, but iTunes gets confused for some reason).

Could someone please help? I can play some dowloaded films through Apple TV but my 2 recent purchases won't play. It says I need to authorise my computer (whcih I have already). Has anyone had similar issues?

choose the appletv rather then your shared lib in the list
if you are trying to view a movie that is located on your ipad on your tv using the appletv then
you should use airplay mirror not the remote app
