Do I need to purchase crossover software to sync with my Mac OS?

I'm not receiving texts either...
I just got the phone today

I can assist Jayjkil! Yes, you will need a 3rd party software to sync your Samsung Galaxy S 4 with your Mac OS. Let's resolve your text issue. Did you port your number in? If so, please ensure your old device is off, and power your S4 off>Remove sim>Power on. Please allow up to 72 hours from port for complete service. Please feel free to share more information or reach out if you need any additional assistance. Thank you.

  • I'm using numbers on my MacBook, do I need to get seperate app to sync with phone?

I'm using numbers on my MacBook, do I need to get seperate app to sync with phone? Or should it sync through iCloud.
Also does anyone know if numbers has a similar feature to auto sum on excel, where you can quickly add a row of numbers together?
    Many thanks

You have to purchase Numbers for iOS devices separately.
To add a row of numbers select the range to add, then drag the quick functions from the left (lower) of the Numbers window to the destination cell:

I recently updated my iPad and when I went back to read a book that I had purchased I'm getting error messages and whole chapters are missing.  I tried re-syncing with my mac book and nothing changed.  Any help to restore my book completely?

Try a system reset.  It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to do a time-consuming "Restore."

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
    Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config.

  • Older MBP running OS X 10.4.11, can't update. Do I need to purchase new software? If so, what version? Thanks

    Query is the title

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • How can I know if the software that came with my mac is valid or pirated?

I recently purchased a MBP that came with numerous amount of really expensive software like Adobe Masterclass Collection,Logic 9, Key Note, Pages, Numbers, Final Cut Pro and many more. How can I find out if this software collection that came on the mac are valid or pirated. Is there a app that can scan my mac for serials or to verify the apps? If infact they are legit purchased, how can I put them on my other mac? or is it even possible. For example, Final Cut Pro and logic are from Apple. Could they Verify them?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Unfortunately, there's not a way to check if they are original or pirated. Also, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Final Cut Pro (if it's Final Cut Pro X) and Logic Pro, if they were purchased in the App Store, don't need a product key. My advice is to delete all those applications, and purchase again the applications you need with your Apple ID in the App Store, if they are available there.
That's because you will have problems to update them (as they are registered to the old owner's Apple ID) and you can't use them legally if you haven't purchased the applications

  • Songs I purchased in iTunes, after syncing with my iPhone and iPad, show up in the library and playlist on the computer. They are in the songs lists on both devices but do not actually transfer to the playlist on either though the computer says they have.

I purchased four songs in iTunes, downloaded them, then did a sync with both my iPhone and iPad.  All songs show up in the libraries of both devices. I then added these songs to a playlist on the computer then synced both devices again.  According to iTunes on the computer, all four songs are in the playlists on both devices.  However, on the actual devices, only two of the four are in the playlists.  All four are still showing up in the library.  I created another playlist specifically for these four songs to see what would happend, dragged them to the playlist on the computer, then did another sync.  Once again, according to the computer, all the songs are in the playlists on the devices.  However, only two of the four are actually in the playlists on the phone and iPad. Any ideas what's going on?

    Lynn,
I had a very similar issue (same playlist).  After several frustrating hours of various combinations I was able to sync by changing the options to "manuall sync.." and then "dragging and dropping" the needed playlist from the iTunes Playlist list to the iPhone button (on my itunes setup/view that was from the far left column list of all of my  playlist in iTunes to the far upper right "iPhone" button).  To sum up "checking" the playlist and syncing didnt work, "drag and droping" the playlist did... at least for now... then I unselected the "manually manage" in the options and re-synced and all playlist were synced correctly.  Good Luck.

  • My ipad won't sync with my mac since i did the software update

on my ipad.  It says my itunes is out of date, but when i tried to download that it said my mac os is out of date? when i clicked system software update it says i'm uptodate.  current 10.6.8.

If your Mac is running OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, the OS needs to be updated.
     Cheers, Tom
If your Mac meets these requirements http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842 you can download a free update of OS X Mavericks.
