Do I need to uninstall FF3.6.13 after installing FF4 beta 9?

I have two (2) Firefox icons on taskbar. Do I need to uninstall FF 3.6.13 to get only one (1) icon on taskbar?

To prevent interferences between versions, use a specific [[Managing profiles|profile]] for Firefox Beta.
If you don't want to customize again Firefox 4 Beta, you can recover data from your current profile. See [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].

I have an academic version of Final Cut Studio on my laptop and recently purchased the most recent Full version of Final Cut Studio. Do I need to uninstall the academic version before installing the new version? I ask because this is not an upgrade, but a completely new version.

I'm with Jim on this.  It always seems to work out better if you do not install over another version.  You can use this app (freeware - thanks to Jon Chappel) to completely remove ALL Final Cut Studio apps and components: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/
Once that's done, install your newly purchased version.

  • Do I need to uninstall FF3 b4 installing FF4?

I would simply like to know if I should uninstall FF3 before installing FF4?

You can uninstall Firefox 3 before if you want, but it is not required, you can simply install Firefox over your current version.
I prefer uninstalling the old version and making sure all the Firefox files and folder have been removed from the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory installation directory]. If you do this, when uninstalling Firefox make sure you do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data", if you select that option it will delete all of your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

  • Do i need to uninstall elements on PC before installing on Mac?

I recently got a mac and want to transfere my elements 10 from my PC to mac. I am aware that elements 10 is multi platform so I should be able to do this. However, should I uninstall the previous version on my PC before attempting to install on my Mac? If I dont, will it effect the license/ the amount of times I can use the key etc.?

No, you do not need to uninstall.
You can use a single license on two machines to install.

  • Do I need to uninstall CS4 (non-Education) before installing my new CS6 (Education) Design Standard

Do I need to uninstall CS4 (non-Education) Design Standard before I install CS6 ( Education) Design Standard Software? How do I do this, is there an uninstall mechanism available?

    Hi bmcgon1,
It doesnt matter if you uninstall  the older version or not.CS6 installer would be a new install and it would not overwrite or uninstall the older CS4 version software. if you dont intend to use the older version CS4 software you can unisntall using the Creative Suite Cleaner tool.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Edge Reflow after installing Adobe Edge Reflow CC

After installing Adobe Edge Reflow CC via Creative Cloud I have noticed I still have Adobe Edge Reflow on my machine.
There is no specific uninstaller in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
So how do I uninstall it?

Jarrid it sounds like you may be having more severe issues since this is the second program you are now stating you are not able to uninstall.
I would recommend you uninstall all currently installed Adobe Creative software using the uninstallers in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once this is done you can use the  CS Cleaner Tool to verify a complete removal.  You can find details at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

  • Do I need to uninstall the old Firefox before installing the new version?

I really don't have any problems with Firefox, just trying to find out if it is necessary to uninstall Firefox 4, before installing the new version?

no, in fact, it's better to update it instead of installing the new one separately so that you don't loose your bookmarks and such.
To update, open firefox and go to Help and chose About Firefox. you should see an update button there.

  • I need to uninstall v10.0 and re install 3.0 to 3.6.13 Help!

    Hey,
There are a lot of benefits to running the latest version of Firefox. You might want to consider running the older version on [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 a USB Stick with PortableApps]. That way you'll still be able to run the latest version for your day to day activities.
If you still want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Do I have to uninstall an older version after installing a new one?

    Hi,
I just upgraded my CS5.5 Design and Web Premium to CS6. Is it OK to uninstall 5.5 now, or does CS6 need still need it? If I do have to install, is doing so via the Control Panel OK? Thanks.

There's no reason to and doing so has been known to kill some file
associations. If you uninstall, you may have to reinstall CS6.

  • Should I 'uninstall' old Firefox updates after installing Firefox 8?

I'm strictly a "button pusher" and have no clue to the 'how' a computer or its programs work. I had Firefox 1.0.6. 3.5.5, on up to 3.6.8 and I've just installed the latest Firefox 8. Am I supposed to get rid of the old versions or just leave them on the computer. I am assuming that I can't just 'delete' them but must uninstall them; is this correct or do I just leave them there?
    Thanks for any help offered.

If you've updated Firefox every time then the previous version has been replaced by the new updated version.<br />
If you only see entries of older Firefox versions in Add and Remove programs then that are leftover orphaned entries that haven't been removed by the Firefox updater, but the files of that older version are no longer present.

  • Uninstall full Photoshop program after installing next version

I have CS4 full program and the CS5 and CS6 Upgrades on my MAC. Can I remove CS4 and CS5?

    yes.
even when installing an upgrade version, the previous version(s) do not need to be installed.  in that situation, the cs6 installer should prompt you for the previous versions' serial number.

  • Uninstalling Acrobat Pro X after installing Acrobat Pro Xl?

I noticed that when I intsalled the new Acrobat Pro Xl as part of Creative Cloud, Acrobat X was not removed.
Since the app alone uses almost 1 GB of space, I would like to safely remove the app, and any related files that are not required for Xl.

    Jeff,
In the "Adobe Installers" folder, when opening the Acrobat uninstaller (named "Acrobat X Pro"), the uninstall optons are:
Acrobat X Pro (checked by default)
.– Suite Shared Configuration CS 6 (checked by default)
    Remove Preferences (UNchecked by default)
Should I run the uninstaller with the options as is?
    Thanks

  • After installing or uninstalling a program or after installing a Windows update requiring a reboot, I lose Firefox and have to reboot a second time.

Am running VistaSP2 on a Dell E520 with a Kaspersky based AV program. Ever since I installed the latest version of Firefox I find that when I install or uninstall a new app (e.g. Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Skype, Windows Messenger, etc.) or when I install an update from any source that requires a reboot, I find that Firefox will not start. Even the UAC confirmation window will not open. I have to perform a second reboot to be able to open Firefox. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it and it does not help.

Which is it, hanging or crashing, or both?
