Do I need to uninstall the Photoshop CS6 trial before installing Design & Web Premium?

I'm studying game design and my school provides a full license for Photoshop CS6. Before they provide the license they require you to install the software and use the 30 day trial, so that's what I did - I just installed the Photoshop CS6 standalone version (the full thing, not Elements). Now that my trial period has expired I've been given the license, but it seems it's for the whole Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium, not just Photoshop.
Should I uninstall Photoshop standalone before installing the whole Design & Web Premium suite? Or will it be okay if I go through the installation of the suite and just deselect Photoshop from the installation options? Is there any difference between the version that's installed on its own and the version that comes with the Design Premium suite? Will it affect any functionality in terms of transferring stuff between applications?
I'm running Windows 7.
Thanks in advance.

Only if you want to or need the space... versions are independent... some people have several versions installed for testing different capabilities

  • Is it necessary to remove the Photoshop CS6 Beta before installing the trial?

I installed the CS6 Design and Web Premium trial while I wait for my ordered update disk to arrive.  I have the PS CS6 Beta installed and I note that the trial installation did not install CS6 Photoshop or CS6 Bridge.  ????????????

In the future please remove beta software prior to installing released versions of the software.  Presently I would recommend you uninstall not only the Photoshop CS6 beta but also the Design and Web Premium trials as well.  Once the software has been removed, including the beta, you can then try the reinstall again.
Hopefully it will be as simple as this but if not please feel free to respond to this thread with any additional difficulties which arise.

  • I was unaware that I needed to uninstall the older Acrobat Reader before installing the newwer XI. Am I now able to go back and delete both versions then reinstall the XI?

I have Windows 7, and an older Abode Reader, I've just installed the newer Adobe Reader XI, but did not uninstall the older Adobe Reader.  Is it too late to uninstall both versions of Adobe Readers, then reinstall the Adobe Reader XI?

If you upgrade from one Reader version to the next (e.g. Reader X to XI) it is usually not necessary to uninstall the previous version.
If you skip several versions (e.g. Reader 8 to Reader XI) it is recommended to uninstall the old version first.
    My recommendation for now:
    uninstall both versions using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
reinstall the latest Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    Hi Amy1957,

  • FAQ: How do I uninstall the Photoshop CS6 beta?

With the Photoshop CS6 beta coming to a close and the 60 day trial period expiring, you'll be looking to uninstall the beta software from your system.
It is recommended that you uninstall the Photoshop CS6 beta prior to installing the official release of Photoshop CS6.
Uninstallation is easy, and can be done in just a couple steps depending on your Operating System.
Important: Do not attempt to manually uninstall or remove Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging folders to the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac OS). Doing so can cause problems with uninstallation, and installation in the future.
If you've already tried to manually uninstall the Photoshop Cs6 beta, see the instructions at the bottom of this post for using the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.
Instructions for uninstalling the Photoshop CS6 beta:

Select Adobe Photoshop CS6 from the list and click Uninstall.

    Didn't Uninstall Correctly?
If you didn't uninstall properly, you can use the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to remove the Photoshop CS6 beta from your system: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

CS6 does not support high-DPI displays on Windows, only Retina on Mac. You have to live with it.

  • Do I need to uninstall previous version of Firefox before installing new version?

I am worrried about installing new version (3.6.13 ) since old version (3.0.15) is working o.k. Can you advise?

When you install a release version of Firefox (current version is 3.6.15), it will by default replace the existing version. There is no need to uninstall the old version first.

  • Improper Photoshop CS6 beta uninstall prevents Photoshop CS6 release version install

I installed Photoshop CS6 beta on my Mac, OS 10.6.8. Once I purchased and went to install CS6, the installer informed me to uninstall the beta version of Photoshop, but didn't say how, or that there was a catch. I went and uninstalled Photoshop CS6 beta bny dragging it to the trash. OOPS! - now the release version won't install, and I can't find anyhting on the Adobe website other than private messages from Adobe employees to specific users with the same problem as to how to rectify the issue.
Aside from venting my frustration at a situation I (and others have found ourselves in that could have been prevented by a little better planning and installer design, I'd really appreciate help in rectifying this state of affairs. It looks from other Forum posts like there is a tool or procedure that cvan be used to make the install work. Thanks in advance -

  • Need serial number for photoshop cs6 trial

need a serial number for my photoshop cs6 trial

There is no need for a serial number to use the 30 day trial.  If you have exceeded the trial period then you will need to purchase Photoshop CS6 to obtain a serial number.

  • I installed the photoshop CS6 trial version and got an error.

I installed everything without a problem and verified my adobe acount but when it tells me to sign in an error pops up that says: "Please connect to the internet and retry."
But...I'm connected to the internet and there's nothing wrong with the internet that would cause a problem for signing into something. I even tried restarting my laptop and signing in again but got the same error.
    What should I do?

Thanks for writing, Jeff; I appreciate your question.  To clarify:
    1. Nope, I'm not on a managed network.  This is my personal computer onto which I'm installing software.
    2. This thread is about CS6.  I have just bought the CS6 Production Premium suite, and have (per support chat instructions) attempted to install both the full and the trial versions.  I've followed all the instructions on the website listed in post #1 here, and have followed all the suggestions of those on chat support.
    3. I have a sufficiently-powered computer (i-7 Intel processor on Windows 8 with 8 megs RAM), and have attempted the installation on both wired and wireless connections, with and without firewalls and antivirus software enabled.  I can do everything I want with my computer and internet connection except get past this sign-in screen.
Google "please connect to the internet and retry" "adobe" and you'll get thousands of hits, a whole lot of them having to do with CS6.  Has Adobe recognized this as a bug anywhere?
    Thanks again for writing.

  • I manually uninstalled Photoshop CS6 Beta, and now Photoshop CS6 won't install.

Before I read the FAQ on how to properly uninstall the Photoshop CS6 Beta, I uninstalled it manually (by dragging it into the Trash on Mac OS X), and now when installing the CS6 Master Collection, Photoshop appears with an [!] that says "a conflicting or prerelease version of Photoshop CS6 is present on this computer. This must be removed before the installation can continue." I've tried deleting every file I can find with "Photoshop" in it, but to no prevail. What can I do?

    Jeff,
    The URL is:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4361731#4361731%234361731
I'd just add a line under:
Navigate to your /Applications/Photoshop CS6 folder
    to check Applications/Utilities/...
    for the other uninstaller.

  • Photoshop Cs6 (TRIAL) - Installation failed - Encountered Errors.

Hi, Sorry I don't know if this question has been asked yet, so I'll have to ask.
Everytime I have tried to install the Photoshop CS6 trial, it says that my installation has failed and that it has encountered errors. Below is what my error report says.
    Exit Code: 15  -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)    ERROR: Media DB Error : 12
So, I'm not understanding what the error is.
I know I meet the system requirements because I'm running:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium)
    4 GB RAM
    585 GBs of Hard Drive.
It says 86x bit? I think?
I'm pretty sure that I have those met.
Other than that, I'm just not understanding why this isn't working.
Adobe Download Assist is installed just fine.
    Hope someone can help!

Did you have the Photoshop Beta installed? If yes, then you need to uninstall that one before you can install the trial.
Does your account have sufficient privileges? If not, you might need to log in as Admin.
    Run the install again.
If the error recurs, then run CS Cleaner Tool and remove all products.
Reinstalling after that, should resolve the problem. Get the Cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Let us know how it goes.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't install my CS6 trial.

My OS is Windows 7. I downloaded Adobe Downloader Assistant, downloaded CS6, and clicked on the 'setup' file, and it gave me an error mesagge saying that there was a prerelease/other version of CS6 interferring, and I had to uninstall it before I could install the package. I manually deleted said version, hoping that it would solve this problem, but no matter what I did, it kept giving me that message.
I even tried to use Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool (And, for some odd reason, it kept asking me to insert a CD), but it still gives me the same message. What did I do wrong?

I recently downloaded a free trial of Creative Cloud. When I open Adobe Application Manager, I've been able to download/open/"try" Premiere Pro CS6, but when click "Try" in order to download a Photoshop CS6 trial, it automatically says "Download error.
