Do I need to unlock CUDA cores?
I have Premire CS 5.5 and After Effects CS 5.5. My windows 7 computer has an Asus ENGTX470 Phys X by NVIDIA GeForce GTX470 video card. To get the full power avilable to me, do I have to go through a process of unlocking CUDA cores or is that done aoutomaticly? If I have to go through some process, where do I find that process?

Greetings all. I've been trolling the forums for a few days now and suprisingly (I think) haven't come accross any discussion about the Intel Quick Synch technology and LucidLogic Virtu software available in the Z68 and newly available Z77 Intel chipset motherboards with respect to editing in Premiere Pro. The Intel Quick Synch technology, as I understand it, is all about accelerating video compression & decompression, etc.- though I've not used it yet. The LucidLogic Virtu software is supposed to allow the combination of Intel's Quick Synch along with a discrete graphics card (e.g. nVidia chipset with cuda cores enabled in MPE). My understanding and experience of Cuda Cores (I currently have them working in Pre-Pro 5.5 using a 460GTX chip and a successfull hack) is that when MPE is enabled, rendering and pIayback is greatly speed enhanced, though I believe the MPE engine gives only limited assistance and speed to much of the conversions, compression and exporting (which is a great deal of day to day editing experience) while Quick Synch is supposed to make a real difference here. Now I do not suppose Intel or the MB manufacturers have thought that the LucidLogic Virtu software be compatible with Premiere Pro and MPE hardware, but I figure it can't hurt to ask..
Editing needs: Some SD (basic DV), HD, 720/60p and some 1080i/p. (cameras Canon 7D video / Panasonic AVCCAM 1080/30p) MPEG4, H264 codecs, etc.
A motherboard which I moght consider would be, for instance, a new Asus P8Z77-V Pro or similar. http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_PRO/ depending on add-in slots needed (Pci-e and/or PCI)
CPU: Intel 2700K, memory to match with some overclocking expected,

Doug AQuick Sync takes a ‘black box’ approach which doesn’t give applications that utilise it via its API much control over its parameters so it’s aimed more at home users than professionals. This may change over time but I’m not aware if the API will be extended when the i7-3770K (Ivy Bridge) is released. Ivy Bridge has improved hardware performance for Quick Sync which generally seems to be tuned for performance rather than visual quality or flexibility.

Bill, are there any benchmarks showing that PCIe 3 offers real world gains with the MPE?
Be aware that if you already have a Z68 board that only some of them support PCIe 3 regardless of which CPU you use. Even though the PCIe controller is on the CPU the board has to have compliant PCIe circuitry; traces etc. -
I bought ipad air wifi cellular with att at apple store, and am going to take it to Egypt. Do I need to unlock it from att? Will it work in other countries?
There are many people using the basic (i5) 2012 MacMini and even older ones to edit complex films in FCP X so you should have no problems.
I have been using FCP 7 and FCP X since they came out on my 2008 iMac Core 2 Duo and am thinking of getting the same model as you rather than pay the astronomic price for a new 27" iMac.
The performance won't be quite as fast but it will be at least 4 times faster at rendering than my old iMac. -

so i want to know which thing important now CUDA Cores or Memory interface ?Neither one of those is a good choice. You need the high end Nvidia cards that has 3 or 4GB of memory. They have many CUDA cores, a lot of memory, and more memory bandwidth because of the greater memory.

My just bought ipad with retinal display 32G, screen frozen at one of game my son play. Now I can't turn off ipad, I can log in ipad. I connect ipad to my apple computer, message say I need to unlock the ipad, the problem is I can't even get to ipad home screen to unlock or enter the password. Basically, my ipad is dead. Do I need to unlock my phone to use Consumer Cellular?
I bought a used Iphone 3GS that was an AT&T phone and I was planning to use it with Consumer Cellular who said that I wouldn't need to unlock the phone to use their service. When the phone arrived it worked fine, I didn't have to go through any activation, it just went straight to the home screen. After inserting a SIM card and calling to activate it, the phone continued to work and I was able to text/make calls. Then it said it needed to be updated so I plugged it into itunes and let it be; when I checked on it it had restored itself and now I can no longer get into the phone. All I get is the activating phone screen and it won't recognize my SIM anymore. I bought a new SIM to see if that was the problem..still won't work. Why would it work one minute than just stop? Does this mean that I do infact have to unlock the phone to use it with my new service??
The used iPhone you purchased was apparently jailbroken to unlock it, and restoring iOS removed that jailbreak and your iPhone locked back to AT&T. Only AT&T can unlock it, assuming that the jailbreak hasn't rendered that now impossible as can happen. Here are AT&T's official requirements and procedure for unlocking an iPhone:

The person requesting the unlock must be one of the following:
• a current AT&T customer

My iPod Touch 2nd Generation is Disabled. The mesage on my home screen says "iPod is disabled, connect to iTunes." But recently I have sold my old laptop that had all my iPod backup on it, and I have purchased a new laptop. I have iTunes downloaded onto my new laptop, and I have Authorized it with my Acount ID and Password. But, here's my problem, I have never Connected my iPod to my new laptop, and done a Sync. And when I connect my iPod to My computer with my iTunes up on my screen, My laptop trys to Sync into my iPod and a msg box appears on my screen saying that I need to Unlock my iPod before I can Sync. But I cant because of it being Disabled. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?

My iphone 3gs says I need to restore my phone with itunes. when i connect the phone it says i need to unlock the phone which i cannont due because of the caution on the phone. How do i fix this?
Hold down the power button and home button at the same time until the phone powers on, shuts back off, powers on again and continue to hold it until it shows the itunes logo to plug in to itunes. This should allow you to restore without unlocking it.

It sounds like you're going to have to put the iPad in to recovery mode before you can restore it. The article linked below provides more details about the passcode lock and will walk you through putting the process of restoring from recovery mode.

Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.

Download the current version of itunes, attach your device to your computer, open itunes, go to the device (upper right hand corner) and select update. It'll update to iOS 6.0.2, the current version of iOS.

The only way you will be able to unlock it is through Verizon if you can meet their terms for doing so and even if you do an use a GSM provider in India if the phone detects a CDMA system it will switch to that on a roaming basis. You really need to call Verizon or go to one of their stores and discuss your options with them.
