Do I need to Update my Bios for H61m-p21?

Hi I'm planning on buying the Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 by January. I use a h61m-p21 motherboard. In order to use the gpu, would I need to update my motherboard's bios? I really don't feel up to it cause it seems like such a hassle.

Download the attached archive to your desktop and insert a fat32 formatted usb stick.
(Do not decompress the archive)
Start the forum flash tool and select option1 then point it at the downloaded compressed archive.
Then point it at the usb stick.
When complete boot to the USB stick and follow the on screen prompts.
You will need to re-install the intel chipset and ME drivers when complete.

I bought a new battery on ebay to replace my old battery and adapter because my computer wasnt charging and didnt know if it was the adapter or battery. The adapter was fine, it powered my laptop, but the battery has never been able to charge. When I contacted the seller, he said to update my BIOS. and to power up my laptop and choose start battery calibratation and update battery to known. I've read not to update the BIOS unless it is neccasary. What do you say?

Hello Dawn, welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you've replaced the battery for your notebook and are now having issues with it charging. I will try to assist you with this.
I recommend following this document for any troubleshooting. It will also guide you threw calibrating the battery. Battery Does Not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge.
As there is no mention of updating the BIOS in that document, I don't recommend doing so unless deemed necessary later on.

Do I need to update the BIOS for new HDD?

I have to replace my HDD due to the current one dying on me. My current HDD is the 60Gb standard drive for the G4 DVI A1025. I'm considering replacing it with this model:

Which as you can see is 80Gb but otherwise looks to be pretty much the same.
Does anyone know if this drive will require a BIOS update or not?
Also when I do install it, can I simply boot from the Install DVD and then run Disk Utility to format it or does it take some other more complicated way to format it?

The only hard drives that won't work internally on your machine are the 1.8", SATA, and the greater than 120 GB drives given this limitation:

What that says basically is you can have up to 200 GB if your model is this one:

But not any earlier version of the Powerbook where the limit is 128 GB (since 128 GB hard drives aren't made, that's why I said 120 GB).

Do I need to update my bios?

A previous thread of mine has been locked so I'm gonna try my best this time to word it correctly while abiding by the politics. Okay here goes. I use a MSI H61m-p21 (B3) motherboard and would like to know if it supports the radeon HD7870/R9 270X without needing a bios update. Even a simple yes or no will suffice.

The thread has been locked for a reason. Ask again if you own any of these cards. We can't tell you if a non-MSI vga will work without an update or not. If you want further support then stop with this.

Windows 7 clients need to update printer driver for no reason

I have a problem with my Windows 7 clients in domain. We have 2012 print server and multiple printers installed on it. I installed a brand new Canon IR printer with a new driver from Canon webpage. After I did that, almost all Windows 7 clients got a warning
that they need to update driver for printing. Those clients are NOT using the printer I installed, but the other ones (who worked fine until my installation). Is it possible that installing new printer cause other compatible printers to update themselfs???
Can I avoid it in the future?

The main issue is that installing a new printer will affect other printers, right?
Here is a similar symptom and the environment is Windows 7 ,Windows 2003 Server. The OP in this case has resolved this issue by modifying the Group policy called “Point and Print Settings Restrictions”. This policy will influence Windows Vista and the later

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

Why you install Windows 7 on Equium L20? In my opinion this pretty old notebook doesnt support new Windows 7
If your notebook has an Intel graphic card, you could try the Windows 7 driver from Intel directly.

How to update a BIOS for a P6N SLI Platinum motherboard

I'm running Vista x64 with 4GB RAM. I'm having the same problem as everyone else that the OS runs slower with 4GB. I installed the Microsoft's hotfix and that didn't correct the problem. I downloaded the 1.5 BIOS drivers but I'm having trouble installing them. I created a boot disk by right clicking on the A: drive and selecting Format. Then I checked of System Disk or whatever it was called so I can boot off of it. It loads the A: prompt but it wont see any of my hard drives. I have two partitions; a C and a D. Since that didn't work I grabbed another floppy and installed the drivers on their.
Problem is that I don't understand how to Flash the BIOS. I run Afud408.exe from the command prompt and I get a list of options. I believe I selected the /p which did something, but then I rebooted and the BIOS is still v1.1 in the boot up screen. Can someone please help me? What do I need to type in the command prompt to get it to update?

In order to make this work you need to run the afud408.exe from a pure DOS command line (not a DOS box).
The correct command line needs to be:
afud408.exe BIOS-File name
Example:
afud408.exe A7350NMS.150
However, the best thing is to use the following tool, it will make the whole procedure a lot easier since it automatically prepares everything for you:

It works with Vista 64bit as well. All you need is an USB Flash drive.
If you don't have an USB-Flash Drive you can also prepare a CD for flashing. Guides can be found here:

I need to restore corrupted bios for a DV6-3103sa

1. Product Name and Number
     HP Pavilion DV6-3103SA
2. Operating System installed
     Windows 7 64-bit
3. Error message
     Caps Lock flashes twice (BIOS Corrupted)
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
     Updating BIOS, tripped on cable, lost power, bios corrupted.
     Initially tried reinstalling bios with a USB;
battery out, usb in, win + b held down, plug in power, turn on.
usb light flashed few times, it did not find \*.bin so no install.
     Then, it was CMOS battery out, laptop battery out, unplugged, left it overnight.
     Didn't reset bios.
   Then, I tried USB again,
I read I should've renamed 0143FF27.bin to 0143.bin or even 0143F.bin
but it's no longer reading the USB drive since I took out/replaced CMOS battery....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, exams coming up, a working laptop would be amazing

Try a hard reset.
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button
If it does not help then you have reached a point where only a shop or service center capable of reprogramming and/or replacing the BIOS eeprom chip can help.
It is sad to say it, but the normal result for interruption of BIOS updating , even if inadvertent, is the creation of a laptop shaped Brick.
It can be repaired but not by anything we can tell you except Contact HP or a BIOS repair company.

Need help updating Camera Raw for d600.

I have PSE 11 and have turned off my firewalls and still cannot get a Camera Raw update newer than 7.1. I have a d600 and it wont work through that. I know it can be done since I wasnt having this problem before I had to restore my computer and reload my software. I have searched Adobe up and down and everything says to us Help>updates...but its not giving me the option to update. Can anyone help...or send me the file.

Officially, you are not suppose to update your PSE11 and that is why Adobe is not allowing you to update the product by going to Help >> Updates.
However, this does not mean you can't. You can always update your product manually provided you have the basic knowledge of Windows file folders and how to rename, browse and delete old files. Having said this, to update your PSE11 to the latest version of Camera Raw 8.3.0.141, you can do this:
1) Download the update file from this link:
<http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/8.3.52/setup.zip>
2) Unzip the downloaded file to your desktop
3) Browse the unzipped folder and double-click on the file called: "AdobePatchInstaller.exe". You might get a prompt to close PSE11 if it is open, so close it and press "Continue" button.
4) Wait for about a minute until PSE11 is updated.
5) now launch PSE11 and from Photo Editor, go to Help >> About Plug In >> Camera Raw
6) you should see something like in this picture:
Good luck but post back if your system did not update automatically. Windows XP, and Windows Vista does not update automatically using this method so there is another method you need to try. Post back anyway to let us know.
