That is correct. The curren version of iPhoto requires Mavericks.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -
My JPEGS are no longer being copied over to Finder. Only a random fraction are copied. It use to work perfect. I can move them 4 or 5 at a time, but it is very time consuming. Is there a bug in the updated versions of iPhoto?
OK - here is what I've done in the past. As I want to be able to save my photos on a DVD that can be read by both a PC and a Mac, I am burning them in Finder. I start by downloading into IPhoto. I'll flag and edit the ones I want to print or post to the web. After that I want to take all the keepers and move them from IPhoto to various files I create in the document section of Finder. I've done it both ways in the past, copy and paste or just drag over, all the files would transfer over. Now there may be dozens of pictures that do not move over - very random, in one case there were only 6 photos and the 3 vertical ones did not copy over.
I'm wondering if this is a software issue or if there is just too much data being moved around. FYI there are 2 Nikon cameras I use and the files from both do this.

If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.

And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4

Does Aperture 3 have built in PhotoShare/iCloud capabilities or do I need a newer version of iPhoto as well? I'm running iPhoto '09 and am to scared to switch to the newer version of iPhoto..?

Both Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11 are compatible with Photo Stream. However, note that the most recent iPhoto '11 and Aperture 3 versions use the same library, so your library will be upgraded, and it doesn't mind if you install iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3. That's why I recommend you to make a backup of your iPhoto library before installing Aperture or upgrading iPhoto -
Updated version of iPhoto now can't email photos
my imac notified me to click on the updated version of IPhoto. Since then i am no longer able to send photos out through the Iphoto email. I get a pop-up that reads:The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination.

Uninstalling iPhoto will not affect your photos - they are in you riPhoto library (and of course you will always have a good backup of it and all other data on yoru computer because if you do not you are guarenteed to lose them sooner or later)
Unfortuantly it also will not solve your problem - did you delete the accoutn and re-enter it in the iPhoto preferences? waht happend?

If you have transfer the ringtone to your computer, play the ringtone - then it should move to your tones folder in itunes. Just make sure when you play the ringtone it's plays in itunes. -

If you have Yosemite you need iphoto 9.6 from the App store - what is the exact error message you are getting?
Try dragging the iphoto Application to the trash from your applications folder (wait tot empty the trash) and then install iPhoto 9.6 from the App store

If it is OSX Snow Leopard Installation DVD then yes this disc contains the BootCamp Drivers version 3.x and is needed after the installation of Windows to install the BootCamp Drivers.
With OSX Lion BootCamp is at version 4.x and the BootCamp Drivers have to be downloaded during use of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX.

Thanks to Bobthefisherman & Turbostar. Turns out I've got a corrupted disk (which I found out via "verify disk" on Disk Utility First Aid. Previously, I never thought to verify disk -- only to repair permissions -- so I never knew my HD had been corrupted.
Wasn't able to do a clean install of OSX10.6 because my SuperDrive only sporadically will load discs, so I am taking it to the Apple Store to see if they can do a clean install, and depending upon costs, get the Superdrive replaced.
The HD wasn't partioned by the way. And I did have just over 40GB of contiguous space.
