Do I qualify for apple education pricing as a community college student?

Looking to get a 13' macbook pro and I haven't really gotten proof of admission besides an email.

The info in this page may help you: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/open/salespolicies/edu.

No. If you want an extended warranty you still must purchase it. It is not included with education pricing.

I'm an 8th grader, going on high school soon, and I was wondering if a student in middle or high school can qualify for the Apple education discount?

  • Software Updates for Apple TV (tried everything in community)

Software updates for Apple TV using HDMI.  My MacBook Pro 2013 does not recognize the Apple TV as a device.  I've tried plugging in HDMI first then AC; AC then HDMI; re-start, etc.  The Apple TV doesn't update through TV and ethernet cable.  Apple TV is 2012 but I can't see it anywhere in order to see for sure.

If you have an AppleTV 2 it does not need a power lead at all when connected over USB.
Ceryain USB to microUSB leads are power only not data, so it could bethe lead.
Also if having issues remove all non-essential USB peripherals/hubs.

  • Had CC for a year.  Want to get again, but doesn't say I qualify for the $29 pricing because I haven't owned any previous software?

As the title states.  I had the student version of CC for a year.  The $29/month would help me a ton, but it says I haven't owned any Adobe software before.  Did having CC for a year technically not count as owning the software?

Thanks for the info. Seems kind of messed up though. Why would Apple let any random user of a machine control all future upgrades of critical apps. I guess perhaps my admin password was needed at some point, which my son has. Still, seems this is something you should be able to undo.
I'm starting to get a clearer pictures of what's going on. These 3 apps are part of iLife 11 and normally cost $14.95 each. They come pre-installed on new machines, but it looks like at some point you need to associate this "purchase" with an Apple ID, and can only associate it with one Apple ID. Thus they are now irrevocably associated with my son's Apple ID.
However, if I wanted to shell out the money, it seems I should be able to tell this particular mac to forget everthing it knows about the purchase of these apps, and re-purchase them from another Apple ID. Although I doubt I'd do that at this point, if I by a 2nd Mac and properly associated these apps with my Apple ID on this 2nd mac, I should then be able to use this "purchase" to download the apps to the first mac I'm having a problem with. However, currently I can't even see a way to do this. Is there some App Store cache I can trash so App Store no longer knows which apps were installed by which Apple ID?

  • Education pricing for tutors?

    Hi,
I am a full time tutor. I would like to purchase a MacbookPro and would like to know if I can qualify for the education pricing available on the online store? Thank you.

To qualify for that you usually need to be a student, staff, or faculty member of some accredited educational institution and have a .edu address.
If you have those things, then you should be set, otherwise you'll have to actually call Apple. These forums are generally user to user. That way Apple can take all the credit and disavow all the bad.

  • I bought my Mac with education pricing a week ago and missed the $100 Mac App Store promo

Long story short, I bought my first Mac a week ago with Education Pricing, mainly because Apple marked their education site with a banner reading "Last Call for Apple Education Pricing." Lo and behold, I received an email from Apple this morning about a new promotion for those buying with Education Pricing getting a $100 credit to the Mac App Store if they buy between June 16, 2011 and September 20, 2011. Is there any way I can receive the $100 credit even though I bought a few days before the promotion started? I would have waited longer to buy if I hadn't seen the "Last Call" banner on the Education Pricing page.

You can get a $100 education discount no matter when you buy it.  The email seemed to be just informaing you about the offer.  You can take your receipt into the Apple Store and they should be able to deduct the discount from your purchase.  If they are "rude" about it, then return your laptop and repurchase it with the discount.

  • Eligible for education pricing?

    Hi,
I'm a gonna be a senior in high school but I was wondering if I qualify for the education discount for buying a macbook pro. I work every summer at a private school that runs a enrichment camp and am called faculty there because I manage the tech department and assist for teachers of classes. I am on payroll there. Does this make me eligible for student/teacher discount? The more money I can save the better so I am hoping I am.
It is so annoying that they don't give us high schoolers any love. We are like one of their biggest consumer bases, at least where I'm from. Everyone in high school has a mac here. They should give us some incentive to return by offering discounts and promotions for our age group.
(ps the camp is for middle schoolers so the age group is right)

  • Hi! I'm currently in Singapore & my sister's in the Philippines, I'm planning to buy a Mac for her thru education pricing, do you think they'll allow me eventhough she's studying in the PH?

    Please help me (:
by the way, she'll be coming over here next week, is it enough if I just show them her ID in the Philippines?
    thanks (:

If you’ve been accepted to college, are a college student, or are the parent of a college student, you can take advantage of special pricing on Mac computers and certain software and accessories. College and K-12 faculty, staff, and professors can also use Apple education pricing.
You might want to go apple/students/how to buy and get some more info than what I've given. I tried getting the discount because I have two kids who use the computer for school and I couldn't get it. I would think if she has some sort of proof that shes been accepted to a college or in college you could just take her with you and pick up the bill when she's done shopping for her computer.

  • How to provide proof to qualify for edu discount?

    Hey,
I want to buy a macbook pro online, and with the education pricing it says that a parent or guardian of a student or applicant for higher education can qualify for the education discount. I'm an applicant and I'm just wondering how my parents would have to go about proving that I've applied for university?

Welcome to the discussion forums jessicarghhhh -
There is a education link on Apples website. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/education_routing
You can also order or get more info from The Apple Store by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.
    Hope this solves your problem!

  • Can you use Apple education discount in store?

I'm a sixth form student, and I have a UniDays student discount which allows me to get up to 15% off a Macbook on the Apple store. Can I use this discount to buy a Macbook in an Apple store? And also because the Apple education pricing states university students, will I still be able to use the discount? I've activated the discount and everything works fine online, but in a store would i be refused it because I am not university age? Thanks!

I don't know about your particular store & location but in the UK I have used education discounts with purchases made in an Apple store. You need to prove you are eligible usually via a student ID etc. The store staff may let you login to the online store to see the price of the item for price matching, if there is a particular online Apple store for education - have your account details with you.
You may find that the UniDays discount cannot be used with the student discount, its unclear to me if these are separate offers (check any small print or terms & conditions).

  • Query about education pricing

I am gonna buy a new mac book pro from apple online store for my girl, she is studying college. What are all the details(may be college id) to be submitted for getting education pricing.

Academic versions can be installed on two computers. Student versions can be installed on only one computer.
Perhaps I should say activated rather than installed. You can install on 1 milliion computers, but activate on a limited number of computers.

  • How do I qualify for an upgrade to Acrobat XI MAC from Acrobat 7.0 Windows

I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional - Windows - and want to upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for my MacBook Pro. CanI qualify for the upgrade pricing or do I have to pay the full amount?

    Hi kevinc26850405,
I can understand your concern & will guide you in the right direction.
As you have a registered copy of Acrobat 9 for windows so even if you have the setup file for Mac the serial key won't work as it is platform (operation system) specific.
I would suggest you to get the latest Acrobat version i.e Acrobat DC and you will be able to use it on any of your computer as it requires a subscription to serialize it not a serial key.
Download link for 30 days trail version of Acrobat DC Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC & you can serialize it using your Adobe ID.
In case if you experience any issue or have any query please let us know. We will be happy to help you.
    Regards,
    Aadesh

  • Ok so am in 9th grade and for christmas i can get a macbook pro i was wondering if i can get the education pricing and am in public school i read it and it says k - 12 school

    please respond

    It doesn't appear so. :-(
If either of your parents works for a school, or you have a sibling in college or accepted to college, they would qualify for the discount:
Apple offers special education pricing on Apple computers, software and select third party products to college students, parents buying for a college student, or teachers, homeschool teachers, administrators and staff of all grade levels. Students who have been accepted to college are also eligible.
K12 - Any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible, including homeschool teachers. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.
