Lots of apps are preloaded on a new MBP. Tell us which ones you don't think you need, and we'll tell you whether you can safely get rid of them.
However, the total space used on your hard drive by all the apps that are preinstalled is very small, and if there's any chance at all that you may eventually want to use them, you might as well keep them handy.
By way of example, my own Applications folder contains everything that came from the factory preinstalled in it, plus 2.5 years of subsequent additions totalling 196 applications of all kinds and sizes. Still, it only occupies 12.5GB of my 500GB hard drive.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

You can't delete the Calendar App. Do a search for Calendar in to iPhone search screen (before the first App screen). You may have placed it in a folder or moved it to another screen.
If you have problems you can use Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

Just updated to ios 4.3.2 and none of my IPhone 3Gs apps will run. The original apps that came with the phone do work though. What do I have to do to get them working again?

Do I need to uninstall all the CC apps that now have a 2014 duplicate?

I'm a little annoyed that the latest CC 2014 updates didn't "replace" the previous CC apps. I have a lot of plug-ins and presets that now have to be manually transported to their respective CC 2014 equivalents. Then I have to go back through and uninstall all the non-2014 CC duplicate apps....? It seems the update workflow/expectations could have used a little more articulation/clarity. Or, did I just miss it somewhere?

I accidentally deleted the preloaded tracks on my Zen Vision:M. I've read other posts and realize that since they are copyrighted the only way i can get them back is to buy them, and Ive even gone and checked out Naxos.com, but i think they have specific tracks, and I think the one track I want back is a medley. Im not sure if this was obtained by Creative from Naxos.com or not, but either way I cant find it on Naxos.com. I was hoping someone could post some info on this specific track so I can do a better search or even find it on itunes or something. I dont know much about it but I believe the file was called symphony.mp3 and I belei've it was a medley of John Williams songs. Does anyone have any info on this and what I can do to locate this song, whether I have to purchase it again or not?

the songs on the player are bound to the machine as I recall, you can't copy them off and still have them work.
I would suggest simply buying a few john williams albums

How can I delete places in the map app that came with the iphone5s

I Was in the map app playing around and by mistake entered some places that I do not want. I've tried everything to delete them, but cannot find a way to clear them. I have even dropped a pin on one of the places and now I cannot remove the pin. I tried reporting a problem with the place that I dropped the pin and it reported it to Apple. The more things I try, the worse it gets! Please help me get rid of the places and the pins!!!!!!

so what happened is that I forgot my password (the computer's) and I did erase all and came back on the factory reset. All is fine so far, but I am missing a lot of my apps - I sure did chat with apple and they made something so that I can get my Pages and etc back, but seems like I am missing a lot. I will show a screen shot to see the current situation. I use MacPro Mid 2014, from apple online store.

If you suspect something is missing, describe what you think it may be. The programs in your screenshot appear to be the correct ones.

Can I change the Apple ID assigned to the iLife apps that came with the Mac on purchase?

My wife and I own 3 apple devices. For ease we use one single Apple ID on all devices. Issue occured when my wife purchased the iMAC whilst I was overseas - during the in store set up (not knowing the impact) allowed the shop assistant set up a new Apple ID for her; resulting in the in built iLife apps (such as iPhoto) being associated to that Apple ID. We have since used the original Apple ID for everything on the MAC.
The problem occurs when app updates for the original iLife Apps are released - I can't update them under our Apple ID.
Can I delete iPhoto and re-install under our original ID without loosing all our photos - or is there an easier way to change the ID of the Apps?

If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account

Try resetting the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
It won't open or download!
If that doesn't help tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.

First try a hard reset. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If still no luck, try downloading another free app from the App Store.

Hi I recently bought a used macbook and the seller did not have the original disks that came with the computer. What I was wondering is if I needed to install a new hard drive in the event that mine fails, can I just buy a copy of the OS and install it on the new hard drive or do I need the specific disks that came with the machine??

You say that you have Mac OS X 10.7.5, so if it came preinstalled, see that you can't reinstall it because it's registered to the old owner. Call Apple to get replacement DVDs
If you want, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion. See if your computer is supported > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs Open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion
