Do I really need to write ANY code to create menus

I need to create a Enhanced CD. You know....a CD, that when
put into a computer pops up with menus and options to play music,
videos, goto a website display a PDF etc......
I know Director does this, because the last Enhanced CD I saw
had a lillte "d" in the upper left hand corner and also a message
that said MADE WITH MACROMEDIA (now Adobe).
So my question is if I buy Director, will I need to know any
code or Lingo? I know very little HTML, but thats about it. Was
something like this created via a drag and drop process, or do I
need to be a genius...or maybe a super genius?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's been a long time since I first used Director, I can't
recall a
project that didn't some amount of coding.
Your brief description doesn't include anything overly
complicated, but
will require an understanding of the fundamentals of Lingo.
Director
comes with some pre-built code widgits and there are 3rd
party Xtras
(some free, some that cost) which can make the job easier.
The best thing of all is the tremendous help that you will
get on this
forum. The only real question is do you have the time
required to learn
how to use the product?

In my scenario i have one custom zinfoobject which have lots of attributes.
So, i have to create hierarchy for this zinfoobject with three nodes. one node/charateristic is present in this zinfoobject as attribute. which will be the first node of hierarchy.
Then second custom infoobject is external not present in attribute list. which will be the second node of hierarchy.
Third node will be for which i am creating hierarchy.
So basically need solution for this first.
some one will load hierarchy info in some table and then will create view on top of that then i have to create datasource on top of that and write a program to load the data from that view in this hierarchy.
Need solution for this abap program also.

You configure the sender RFC adapter so that you can use it to convert RFC calls from a sender to XML messages and send these messages to the Integration Server.
Integration
You configure the adapter on the Parameters tab page during the definition of a communication channel. In addition to the adapter configuration, on the Module tab page in the module processor, you can specify generic modules, which give the adapter additional functions.
Prerequisites
 1. You have created a new communication channel or have opened an existing one.
 2. On the Parameter tab page you have selected the adapter type RFC.
 3. You have selected the Sender radio button to define the adapter as a sender adapter.
 4. The communication channel in which the RFC adapter is defined must be defined for a service of type Business System in the area Service Without Party.

Any way to Create Menus in version 4?

Dear fellow Premier Elements users -- I'm running version 4.0 of Premier Elements, and no matter what I try it crashes when I try to Create Menus (using a template). I've created many DVDs using this great tool, but I now I need to make a DVD with scene menus. The crash I get is in:

I would be happy to create scene menus in any way. My movie timeline has both video and stills, and I've defined two scene markers (but no menu markers). It seems that Adobe must have tested this function before they shipped the code, so I suspect there is a procedure that works. Has anyone successfully done this? I'd very much appreciate knowing how you did it!
I updated the Adobe software using the Adobe updater, so I do not think there is a released fix for my problem. Since my version isn't the current one, I don't think that that Adobe support will help. I had a similar experience with my previous vendor of moving-making software. That time I purchased the current version only to discover that the show-stopping bug was present in the new version. I felt silly for investing in the upgrate, and I switched to Adobe's products because I thought that they were a more reputable company. Up to now, their software has worked pretty well. If I can not find a way around this problem however, I fear that I'll have to abondon Adobe and start using Apple's products. I have a soft spot in my heart (for PC-based software) but not a soft spot in my head!

Hey Steve -- Brilliant. I think you nailed it. I'm working on a older PC. It's a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 with 2 GB or RAM running Windows XP SP 3. There are 17 GB of defragmented free disk space (which took hours to defragment). Although Premier Elements is the only program running, it still can crashes as soon as I select a menu template and click Apply.
The reason that I think your answer is correct is that I ran the same version of Premier Elements on my office laptop: 2.2 GHz Duo core T7500 with 2 GM of RAM and 72 GB free disk. I was able to apply a menu template on a much more complicated DVD project without any problems. It appears that my older home PC does not have the horsepower for this feature.
So you not only diagnosed my problem, you renewed my faith in Adobe. Now I'll upgrade to a hotter PC instead of jumping to a Mac. I've never liked the proprietary HW and SW strategy that Apple rams down our throats. I bought my first Apple device this year: an iPod Touch. Lovely little device, but I was flabbergasted that I would have to jailbreak the SW to be able to copy MP3 files onto it with anything other than Apple's own iTunes program. And they've jiggered it somehow to prevent tethering it in the States with a cell phone via Bluetooth. Makes me think that my ex-wife must be on the board... a chilling thought to be sure.
But Adobe makes great photograhic SW for both PC and Mac. The reason my home PC has only 17 GB free is that I have more than 12,000 digital photos online. All taged and deftly managed and optimized with Photoshop Elements. Nice.

then again it might not be such a good idea.

there would have to be someone or a group of people that check the code to keep it clean, and good java, so it might get a bit boggy and hard to maintain...
but a good subject, although i still think that there is sufficient examplecode to find.
You will practically never find exactely what you need online somewhere cause no application has the same possibilities, features...

Just wondering how I can create a new account and password?
I've bought a second hand iMac from a dealer who hasn't fully erased the previous owner's user name and password. Therefore , I can't update or install any new password or update to Mountain Lion...
There is also no installation disc, so I don't seem to be able to reset the password that way.
I've just gone into the dos text :/root and wondered what I can do to create a new account and password without having to reinstall Snow Leopard?

Firstly, make clear of the relationship between client side and server side. There is no free lunch at all. Say if you don't want to make another connection to the server from the client side, all you have to do is sent whatever the client is needed to the client side at the very beginning. I believe that should be something really basic to be considered. It is just like, if you don't go out to buy something from the supermarket on your own, nor the supermarket provides any kind of delivery service to you. How can you physically get something you want to buy? This is the same in nature.
So, your wish is definitely being denied naturally. The only way you can do is, prepare everything on the HTML code for the javascript. Otherwise, make another connection to the server from the client. Don't try to stuck on something which is definitely not possible.

Did you create a backup after the video was taken? If not then it is gone. IF you have such a backup then restore from that

Fiori Configuration - Worklows really needed ?

Dear All Gurus,
In case we install fiori and its components in our system do we need to configure Workflows in R/3 (ECC) ??
We are not using Worflows for approval scenareos since for the approvals and allerts we are using the Legacy System .
(Ex : PR is created in SAP and once SAVE, through SAP PI data flows to a legacy systems and Approval is done there and data flows back to SAP to create PO automatically through PI etc...).
Can we just use Fiori to create PR / PO /Sales Ord. (business scenarios) independantly without Workflows?

Actually we have ERP - MM, SD , FI , CO modules implemented so far in R/3 - ECC in our company and PP , PM, QA modules yet to implement..
All of these are integrated with Legacy Systems through SAP PI/XI and approvals are done at Legacy systems end. (Purchase Requisitions / Purchase Orders are created without workflows)
Why my concern is Do we really need SAP workflows for Fiori to create Purchase Orders , Purchase Requisitions, Sales Orders etc....
Can these be created independently in Fiori?

There are differrent lease type and there Start date and expiry date.
each lease has to return somoe returns on some basis.
selection screen has four options but none of them is date.
My understanding:
I need to get only those leases in my report whose expiry date is greater than system date/current calendar day.
I am not selecting any date field in selection screen, so i need to get value of expiry date from cube, and than compare it to current date.
So i need to write a customer exit in which i need to read date and restrict data on this expiry date.
Requirment:
Need a code for SAP exit variable which will meet the following requirment
There are the following 4 variables in the query.
1) material
2) product hierarchy
3) City
4) lease type
I need a customer Exit variable (CMOD) that will
filter the records on the basis of condition-"lease expiry date is greater than current system" and display all the records whose expiry date is greate than Sy Date (Current Date) and also if expiry date is blank.

It sounds like there may be some confusion on your system about what application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset filename associations by following the steps in these articles (depending on your operating system):

Help needed in writting Customer exit - ABAP Code

Hi Friends,
I have a scenario in one of the query and need to write a customer exit for the same. Here is the scenario:
I am using one input variable XXX to get input from user which feeds value to one of the charateristic lets say "CHAR1" in query. I have one more characteristic "CHAR2" which has to get the value from the same variable XXX. This is not allowed in BI7.0 as the variable is Hierarchy Node type. It gives error that "Variable XXX is used for two different characteristics."
So i need to create one more vaiable YYY which will get the value from XXX and then YYY will feed value to CHAR2. I would appreciate if some one could tell me step by step how to write customer exit and give me the piece of ABAP code i need to write in my case.
Your help will be appreciated in terms of points.

1. What should CHAR2 take - Hierarchy node variable or something else ?
--> CHAR2 is a simple charateristic
2. In your scenario - why have CHAR1 and CHAR2 ? why not have the user enter values against CHAR2 ??
--> We dont want user to enter two input as the input values for both Chars are same.
3. Did you try using a replacement path variable with the CHAR2 variable taking values from Variable on CHAR1 ?
--> In BI7.0 replacement path variable only take values from Query results. So not able to do the same.
