Pre-orders aren't paid for until they are released and you download them, so there shouldn't be anything to refund - if any tracks on the album were released early and you downloaded them then they will remain as purchased tracks.

When the pre-order item becomes available, your account will be billed for the pre-order, and the item will appear in the Purchased section of your account.
Some pre-orders include songs that are available for download immediately. When you pre-order, you will be charged only for these songs and you will receive them immediately.

    So i pre ordered the Linkin Park album The Hunting Party, and when I did it, two songs were automatically downloaded to my library, but then more songs were released and they didn't download to my library even though they were already available. I did some digging up on the internet and someone told me that an email was sent to my email adrees noticing me that the song from the album I preordered was already available and ready to download to my library, but once I entered my email there was no mail that said that, so I  cancelled the pre order thinking that if i preorder it again I would get the songs, but to my surprise the money I spent on the album was not given back to me even though i cancelled the Pre Order.     Do they show as purchased in the store and do they show on your account's purchase history ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.

    Contact Apple directly at 1 800 692 7753.  Explain you would like a refund on your iCloud storage.  They will be able to look up your purchase, and verify if you successfully cancelled it or not.  They can also ensure it is cancelled.

    if you purchase a itunes gift card you will not be able get your money back. unless if it has never been used, such as enetering the bar code then you can probably take it in to the original store where you bought it from with the receipt.

  • When I buy a pre order song how do I get it to play with the rest of the CD?

    When I buy a pre-order song from i tunes, and then purchase the CD the song was from it will not play with the rest of the CD.
    Example: Tori Amos's new CD Unrepentant Geraldines
    I purchased the single Trouble's Lament when it was released, before the CD.
    I just purchased the CD and the song should be #2 on the CD, but its not there, it is listed separately, and will not play with the CD.
    Also, other issue... Free U2 CD, it says its in my Library when I clicked on the CD add in the store. It's nowhere to be found in my library!! I really would love to listen to it since I have several of there CD's and am a big fan
    If anyone can help with either of these issues , I would greatly appreciate it.

    For the single, if you select the track in your library and do 'get-info' (control-I) on it and select its Summary tab on the popup are its details (e.g. album name and artist) the same as for the other tracks on the album ?
    For the U2 album you should be able to download it into your library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it, though that might have been fixed by now).
    Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
    A third option is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.

    As of right now, we do not have an ETA as to when we will start pre-orders. My guess is that once something more definite is out regarding the console, such as release date or specs, then we will start taking pre-orders. Maybe this summer?

    Contact the credit card company and have them do a charge back.
    Tell them the device was not new, and it was broken on receipt, tell them you cancelled the service and that you want your money back.
    They will reverse the charge
    The return phone not received scam is quite often posted here. Just search the forum. All you need is a tracking receipt to show it was given to the post office, or even scanned any place along the way and you are not liable.
    Small claims court just loves these cases.

    I have had experienced this more than a couple of times with purchases from the App Store.
    Your product should have a support link, either on their web page or under Help.  Go to there and submit a message about the fault you experience and the company should get back to you relatively quickly (not Apple, but the vendor).
    I live in Australia and after purchasing my third app that didn't work I submitted a help request and in the end the company (after I sent a copy of the App Store receipt) issued me with a serial number I could use and downloaded the product from their website.  This only took two days - not bad considering time diff (company was in US).  Support person was very helpful.
    Trust me, they want your business.  If you experience a problem, chances are others are too. 
    I no longer purchase apps from the App Store without trialling them first.  Since there are no trial apps on App store, I always go to vendors website.
    While I understand Apple is not responsible for the third party apps found in the App Store, the duds that are in there sure are breeding a lot of frustration for Mac users. 
    Side note - my sister recently purchased Norton Antivirus for Mac - after trying to get it to open the activation window so I could enter the Product Key (for two days!) we are now in the process of getting our money back from Symantec.  While you may not have any luck with the App Store, you may find you have luck with the actual vendor (software producer), get onto their tech support and you may be pleasantly surprised.

    once Apple processes a return the bank has the money. Depending on your bank and their policies the bank then has up to 30 days to put the money back in your account, longer if it was a debit card processed as a credit. Banks are holding money longer and longer because they can.
