Do I remove CS6 to install CC apps?
Could someone from Adobe please provide the relevant information, so that I can make an informed decision as to whether or not I need to keep CS6, or just replace it wth the CC apps. Are there any features which would only be retained by keeping CS6? Will my CS6 files still work in CC? Will Cs6 conflict with CC? Is there any point in keeping CS6, or would it simply be a matter of preference?
This apparent lack of information and assumed knowledge is becoming quite a frustrating feature of Adobes. When I signed up, I did not anticipate the possibility of having two versions of software on my system; very naughty Adobe!
Yul101 I would recommend you make this inquiry in the product specific forums which you are going to be using. In general I would recommend leaving the older versions installed if this is software which is critical for me to use on a day to day basis. There is likely going to be a bit of a learning curve as you get use to the new workflows. In addition if you use any third party plug-ins then you will want to contact the manufacturer to ensure that they are compatible with the current CC version of the software.

Should I uninstall current CS6 before installing CreativeCloud app?
Should I uninstall current CS6 before installing CreativeCloud app?
I have the CS6 Master Suite and have kept it updated, do I need to uninstall that before installing the creative cloud apps?
cheers,
FredNot necessary. CC will recognise existing installs and simply substitute the licensing.

How do I remove CS6 App Manager under CC
I'm running OS X Mavericks, and have CC installed, along with CS6. Amongst the many (many) issues that I've encountered with CC, I noticed that I still get the CS6 menulet in the menu bar, as well as the CC menulet.
How can I remove the CS6 menulet, so that I'm left ONLY with the CC version. When I launch CS6 App Manager, it switches immediately to the CC app manager, so I can't access the CS6-specific preferences.
The CC manage shows me all my CS6 and CC products, so why does the CS6 manager insist on wasting space and CPU cycles in my menu bar?
Has anyone managed to turn this off?Mmm ... just me then?
Well, if anyone else is having the same issue, I have found a way around it.
I opened Dreamweaver CS6, chose 'Check for updates' from the Help menu, and the CS6 manager popped up – from there, I could set the preferences correctly.
All sorted now. Not sure if it will work with other CS6 apps (I think I can remember InDesign CS6 opening the CC app manager), but give it a try.

FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of Mac OS X is too new. I removed all traces of FaceTime and still not able to install from App store. New to macbook pro with Lion.any help with this would be greaty appreciated.
FaceTime is included in Lion. The App Store version is for 10.6. If you deleted it, restore it from a backup, or reinstall the Mac OS.

I'm on Vacation with no access to my Mac. But had tried Sync. My software update is iOS 6.0.1. I've tried another WiFi network. I read your comment of deleting Apps for stuck update. So removed all Apps! Can't even install Free Apps. Now using my Kindle

I do backup with iCloud. I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever. Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -
Someone else set up my apps on my iPad. Now when I load find friends it shows him instead of me. I rebooted and re installed the app. How can I remove him even though I'm signed in under my apple account tnx

This is the article that will assist with this part of your post:

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

I want to delete photos that are on my iphone, by doing so from the computer, not my phone.
Syncing your device with itunes will then enable you to remove whatever photos you wish to remove from your device deleting them with the computer and not the iphone. -
After removing CS6 apps, CC app still informs me I need update?
The CC app window still shows when updates are available on CS6 apps I have removed. When will that resolve? I thought it was safe to remove CS6 to make room for CC 2014 versions?

Installed photoshopcc; should I now remove CS6
installed photoshopcc should I now uninstall CS6? CC runs out of memory very quick after using for a couple of days. I have used the purge function, no help. thinking I might as well remove CS6 & it's Bridge function. 32bit 4Max ram
Ah yes, that's right, been awhile since I've worked with a 32 bit system. My mistake.
Honestly, if CC isn't running well on your system, why not continue using CS6? Anything in CC you must use? Or upgrade; worth it in my opinion, but not everyone's. As to the scratch disk, I'm assuming that's a disk drive? You're going to get much better performance out of an SSD than dedicated HDD. And if your OS/Photoshop isn't on an SSD, that's probably the single biggest performance gain per dollar spent you can get. Makes a significant difference, in my experience. -
I can't install CC apps, creative cloud show me only CS6 apps.

Hi Tom-Xgs,
please mention your system specification along with please check in Ctreative Cloud Desktop Application. There would be a drop down menu to slect varioud option.
It should be selected to ALL APPS.
please check this snapshot for references.

Can I use photoshop with out installing other apps for cs6?
can I use photoshop without installing other apps?
You absolutely can
Usually, Adobe Bridge is automatically installed as a companion app for Photoshop - for example, if you download Photoshop CS6 through Creative Cloud, Bridge will also be installed. But Photoshop can definitely be used as a "stand-alone" application. -
Hi,
I've been using the new Adobe Creative Cloud 2014 for a couple weeks now perfectly fine, until yesterday. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects quite extensively. This morning, I opened the Adobe CC app and all but Adobe Acrobat Pro show installed. The other already installed apps have buttons to "install" but clicking this button shows the "Exit Code: 7 - Unable to complete Silent workflow" error in the logs. Ive tried disabling my Sophos antivirus program and restarted several times. The already installed applications themselves seem to function normally, they open and work projects. I've even tried to uninstall one of the already installed programs (Bridge) and it fails to uninstall, saying I need to restart my computer and disengage my anti-virus, which I've done. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe CC app as well, and have the same result. Help.So I've completed the solutions listed in the help article with no changes. Here is how it has gone with each solution listed in the article. Also, it is not clear in the article whether these steps are to be done in sequence or may solve the problem individually, but since Solution 1 fails for me, doing them in sequence was impossible.
Solution 1: Mac OS: Run the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove the program listed as up-to-date.
This does not work because uninstalling any of these applications does not work. As I stated in the post, the uninstaller for all of my adobe applications (photoshop, bridge, indesign etc) throws the same error each time saying I need to: restart my computer (done) close all applications (done) and disable my antivirus (done, which was fully engaged when I installed the apps originally with no issue) and disable my firewall (done, I don't use one). Not sure what I'm missing on that, plus its a real bummer that I need to reinstall all of my CC apps even if the uninstaller did work because my creative cloud app won't recoginize they've been installed.
Solution 2: Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
This did nothing.
Solution 3: Download and install the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app from Creative Cloud for desktop.
This did nothing.
Solution 4: See the steps listed in Solution 1 to remove all installed Adobe Creative software. Once all Adobe Creative software has been removed, use the CS Cleaner Tool to ensure a complete removal. You can find details in Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6.
This did not do much because I can't uninstall the software to begin with.
What am I missing? -
Uninstalling Adobe Bridge CS6 after installing Adobe Bridge CC
I got all of my Adobe Applications on my MacBook Air through the new Adobe Cloud service. At that time, all of the applications were Adobe CS6. When I saw that Adobe Bridge CC was available, I downloaded it immediately. I had been having problems with Adobe Bridge CS6 working with my Adobe Photoshop CS6. After installing Adobe Bridge CC, I did not find the uninstaller application for Adobe Bridge CS6. I found two copies of the uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CC. Where can I get a copy of the uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CS6 for Mac?
Vizzpat there is no separate uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CS6. Adobe Bridge CS6 is installed by several applications. When those applications have all been removed then Bridge CS6 will be removed as well.
In general you can locate the uninstallers for Mac OS in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. You can also find additional information regarding installing and removing applications at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html. -
InDesign CS6 Text Tool Crashes App
As soon as I try to choose the text tool in InDesign CS6, it completely crashes (will included my entire crash log below)
I actually found this thread before starting mine.
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4798907#4798907
However that did not help me at all. Deleting the preferences is not a solution to my issue (was really hoping it would be that easy).
I am on an up to date Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Macbook Pro Retina.
I immediately checked out my Fonts, and nothing seems out of the ordinary. In fact this Macbook itself is a rather new acquisition, so I have the standards, the Adobe Fonts that come with CS5 & CS6, and exactly 3 fonts I have installed on my own (already tried disabling them in Font Book, still the same issue).
InDesign CS5 works no problems. It is only InDesign CS6. I just recently was able to get the CS6 Suite through work prior to the holidays, so this is the first time I have used InDesign CS6 since installing it.
I actually also manually went through all of my fonts, 1 by 1, and disabled any I did not need. I also Validated Fonts, found 14 issues, either disabled or removed the issues completely, validated them again, and no more issues. So really not sure what else I can do with my Fonts, they are more streamlined than they ever have been in the past.
So any and all ideas are welcome. I prefer to use the CS6 version since it was purchased and should work. TIA for any help offered.
Here is the entire Crash Log.

2 libsystem_Hi Bob
We're actually using your Lynda tutorial for our training, it's such a great resource thank you.
Here's a thread I was reading which wasn't helpful for myself although I did try some solutions that were relevant to me.
Re: InDesign CS 6 Folio Builder crashing
Solutions tried:
- Re installing InDesign CS6
- Downloaded DPS updates directly from Adobe
- One post suggested deleting my cache file/folders which would result in any folios I've made deleted however this
is the first time I've used the DPS tools in Adobe so I didn't worry.
- I've also deleted/reset my preferences
Is there anything else you can suggest? -
Freshly Installed CC apps simply quit after launch
Hey. I'm using my CC account on both work and home computers. The one at work (Mac) works like a charm. But when I installed a CC on my home laptop (PC with Windows 8.1) after removing CS6 trials, the apps (Ps and Ai) do download, install and launch but quit just after showing a glimpse of interface.. No error message, nothing. They just issue a quit command. Is it a common thing that could be cured? Thanks!
We´ve got the same problem.

I have a annual plan, it supposed must be used in two terminals, but i haven´t been able to install any app in a second computer, it always says that the app is only available as a trial download. What can I do to solve this issue, and be able to use my paid plan in two computers?
Hi Susan,
Please refer to the help document to fix this issue:
