Do i seriously need to re-sync my iPod for iTunes 11.0.1??

So, I have nearly 80GB worth of music on my ipod.  I recently downloaded this new version of itunes in order to update my ipad.  Now, I can no longer retreive anything I've download from itunes and, apparently I have to re-sync my ipod, lose all my music, because of this new version of itunes?  Are you kidding me?

You can enable the sidebar in iTunes 11 by going to View>Show Sidebar in the menu at the top of the screen. The iPad will appear under the devices heading and you can click on it to highlight it and then rename it.
You can rename it on the iPad as well in Settings>General>About>Name.
