If you got it elsewhere, you may also have malware.

I had this problem on an IMac and I finally found a solution in an unlikely place. The problem was a security setting. I don't remember right this moment the exact setting and I am not on that machine right now but when I am I will try to retrace my steps to the fix. In the meantime check your security settings and any browser or browser extensions for computer log off settings. These settings are intended to prevent unauthorized use and incidentally screw up your backups. Hope this helps.

I have been trying to download my copy of Mountain Lion for last 3 days and the download is stuck at 53.25mb. I tried all of the restart/ Cookies deletion that apple support staff recommended to no avail. Download starts from begining and once it's 53.25mb downloaded, the remaining time goes upto and beyond 650 days and counting.
Is there any guru, who can help me download Mountain Lion this year? Preferably in a days time !
Cheers!Doesn't strike me as a "high traffic" issue, if you pause the download can you open the /Applications/ folder on your Mac and see if the installer already present? If you can stop the download and delete the installer (because it is not finished), the try again?
If you've already done the above have you tried using Disk Utility First Aid from your Recovery HD?
Try to verify/repair the disk and see if that takes care of it. (Of course make sure you have a good, recent backup before trying this.)
If you're still having issues: re-install OS X from the Recovery HD, install all available software updates, try again. -

I have an IMAC using Safari version 5.1.10. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flashplayer 5 times now. I am still getting an error message "blocked plug-in" when I try to launch a video.

One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there -

i have a macbook pro (almost positive that its a 2010 version) and i got mountain lion. The BIGGEST AND MAIN REASON i bought mountain lion was so that i can do airplay, allowing me to mirror image what is on my mac to my Apple TV. my whole computer is updated as far as the displays and newer features but the small airplay icon will not show up on the top of my screen. therefore, not allowing me to mirror image what is on my mac to my tv... it is connected to the same wifi as my apple tv. idk what to do. could it be because my macbook pro is a 2010? desprately looking for help...please help me with this issue

Forefox will not download or ask me to save .png files even though I set that file extension in Prefs -> Applications dialog box to be "Always ask"
I have to be able to donwload and save .png files and I can't do that if they load in a browser window.I find it odd that the browsers on the Android platform can't support this on their own. I know that Google Chrome on it's full blown version for the PC is able to do so without using the Adobe software for the embedded PDF aka using "The Adobe PDF Link Helper" . I would love to see this change especially since I prefer Firefox over other browsers.

Docs say they need a 'newer version' even though I have the latest Pages 5 release?
I have several documents that I created in the latest version of Pages 5 (version 5.0 (1465)). Last week, they were all working fine in Pages 5 and were saved to that format. Now, when I go to open any of the documents, I get an alert message that the document can't be opened because I need a "newer version" of Pages to access them. I have gone to the App Store to check for updates; I'm at the latest release.
Just for fun, I tried opening in iOS versions (no success) and even opening in copies of the old Pages '09 apps. Nothing works now. I'm also sure it's not a corrupt file issue, since this is occurring today on multiple Pages files.
What happened, and how can I get my documents to open again? I spent a lot of time getting these docs perfect, and I am desparate not to start over from scratch.

PS: This problem is occurring even after I deleted all old iWork / Pages apps from the disk, so that's not the problem. I had seen that as a recommendation for previous upgrade cycles.Please clarify....

I finally got the account set up and now when i try to log in or purchase an app, it tells me that i have not verified my account. I have verified my account. I have been trying to get this thing going for about 2 hours and getting really frustrated. Starting to consider returning my ipod.
I dunno if this will work for you but I had the same issue today and had to redo what I did about two weeks ago.
I went to "Settings" then to "General" and scrolled all the way done to "Reset"
I didnt do a reset that erased data, just the ipad settings.
I had to re-enter all my wifi stuff but after trying to log back into facetime it worked fine.
It's a pain in the arse (second time I've had to do this in a couple of weeks) but it worked for me, Good Luck
