Do iPhone App developers have to pay sales tax?

Hello,
I am an iPhone App developer in the United States. I would like to know who reports sales tax - Apple or a developer?
Thank you!

Not a W-2, but maybe a 1099 (miscellaneous income) - are App Store applications considered merchandise or a service?

Hi, May I ask... If I buy iphone from apple store, will I have to pay another taxes if I'm not in US? I'm from Indonesia.... THX

If you do not have a US billing and shipping address, you can NOT purchase an iPhone from the US Apple web site, if that's what you're asking.
If you are physically in the US, you need to know that #1. Unlocked iPhone 4S will not be available for purchase until some time in November. #2. The warranty is NOT international. If it breaks, you will not be able to get it serviced anywhere but in the US.
As for taxes, you will have to pay sales tax in the US. As far as any duties on the phone are concerned when you take it home, you'll have to inquire of your government for the answer to that.

Why can't I download apps I have to pay for on to my new iPad Mini. I have had an Apple id for my iPhone for years and have downloaded app to it, no problems. When I try to download apps to my new iPad Mini, it tells me my billing info has to be confirmed. After confirming with same info that is already there it tells me to contact support, no help up to this point.

Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.
In the lower right corner of this page is a 'contact us' link. Click on that and you'll see a page full of info and links, one of which is iTunes support.

  • HT4009 I would like to know if app developers have the right to sell their digital items on other platform?

I would like to know if app developers have the right to sell their digital items on other platforms like Player Auction site.
Like playing "Dragonvale", they sell gems inside the game application, what if they sell gems ouside the app store, like they will sell it to a third party website or another platform like Player Auctions?
    Thanks,

They won't work on the iPhone so I don't see what the point would be to do that, but you probably want to contact apple corporate and ask the question there. Or contact the developer of Dragonvale.

  • If I paid for app for iphone do i have to pay again for same app for ipad?

Hi just curious if anyone could tell me if I have purchased an app for an iphone for example My Movies pro do I have to pay again if I want My Movies pro for Ipad?
Does this depend on specfic apps or is everything free once you paid for it on either your ipad or iphone under same apple Id?
    Thanks
    Oil Country

    Hi Oil Country,
If the app is compatible with both iPhone and iPad, then you can download it to any iPhone or iPad that the Apple ID used to purchase it is signed onto.
You can go to the App Store on the iPad, then to your Purchased Items. Click on "Not on this iPad", and you should see the app listed with a little cloud next to it. Tap on the cloud to download it.
    Cheers,

It sounds like you may have subscriptions.
If you want to view your app subscriptions:
From your device's Home screen, tap App Store.
Tap Featured at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Tap the Apple ID button in the lower-left corner. (If you are not signed in, tap the Sign In button, and sign in with your Apple ID. Then, scroll back to the bottom of the page, and tap the Apple ID button.)
Tap the View Apple ID button.
Enter your password and tap OK.
From the main account page, scroll down and tap Manage App Subscriptions. If you don't have app subscriptions this button will not be displayed.
You'll then be taken to your App Subscriptions page.
    To turn off auto-renewal:
From your Manage App Subscription page, choose an app subscription.
Tap the subscription category for which you want to disable auto-renewal.
Tap On to toggle the switch to Off.
You'll receive a confirmation message; tap Turn Off to confirm your choice.
To turn off auto-renewal on computer:
    Launch iTunes on your computer.
Choose Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu.
Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
Choose Store > View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password. Click View Account .
From the Account Information screen, scroll to the bottom of the page to the Settings section.
Click Manage to the right of Subscriptions.
From the Manage Subscription screen click on the subscription that you would like to manage.
On the Edit Subscription screen, you will see the current subscription status and subscription details.
Click the Off radio button to turn off Auto-Renewal.
You will see a confirmation window asking you to confirm.
    Click Continue to proceed.
Note: When you turn off auto-renewal, you will no longer continue to be billed for your subscription, however your subscription will continue until it expires.

  • After reformatting my hard drive, I lost some of my apps and have to pay to get them back. What do I do?

My OS got corrupted, so I had to reformat my hard drive and in the process lose all the data on my hard drive. This includes apps that were included in my MacBook when I first got it such as Facetime, while others are at their pre-Yosemite versions. I can't reinstall them since I have to pay for them, while the other apps like iMovie and Garage Band can't be updated and also require payment. How do I get these apps back? I use a Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina 15" running on 10.10.1. Bought it at around February or March 2014

    Hey JeromeAM,
When you first got your MacBook Pro, you should have agreed to accept the purchase to your Apple ID. Most of your apps that came from the Mac App Store can be downloaded again. To do that, open the Mac App Store and go to the Purchases tab and make sure that you are signed in. From there, you will see a list of apps that you can download again. If you still are not seeing, check to make sure that nothing is hidden.

  • HT201925 When i try to install a free app i have to pay for every singe one none of them are free why?

When i try to install a free game i have to pay for every single one none of them are free, why?

    Please explain in more detail.
Are you actually seeing charges, or are you just asked to enter your CC info?
If you're actually being charged, it could be:
iTunes Store & Mac App Store: About payment card authorization holds - Apple Support
    Or:
Make in-app purchases - Apple Support

  • How do I get a list of the iPhone apps I have purchased from the App Store?

How do I get a list of apps I have purchased from the app store?

Sorry, but this doesn't work.  I tried it myself before I asked, and then again  in response to this suggestion.  It says" You do not have any purchased apps available to download."
    Any other suggestions?

  • How to re-install iPhone apps that have been deleted on the iPhone?

    Hi,
I've installed a number of iPhone apps onto my iPhone via iTunes. I've then deleted some of them on my iPhone. I now want one of the deleted apps back. It's still visible in my iTunes Applications, as well as in Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications.
How do I get it re-installed into my iPhone? So far I've tried:
    - redownloading the app from the iTunes store, and selecting Buy and pressing OK to re-install
    - double-clicking on the .ipa file in Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications
After each of the above I resync my iPhone. But still the app won't re-install on my iPhone.
    thank you,
    ...ben

Yeah, figured it out, and was just about to post what you said. But you were too quick. Thank you!

  • Why do i have to pay state taxes on something thats not coming from my state?

Can someone explain to me why apple charges taxes on things that clearly don't come from my state?

Be more descriptive. There are some states that require sales taxes to be paid for items bought on the Internet. if you live in one of these states contact your state representatives and ask them why they implemented internet sales tax laws in your state.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, states that currently collect internet sales tax are Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania. States that will collect in the future: New Jersey, Virginia, Indiana, Nevada, Tennessee, South Carolina, California.

  • I understand many find my iphone app users have this question... I am trying to find the last location of my Iphone before it went off line... The information contained in the app is misleading.. does anyone have advice?

The information in the app (find my iphone) is misleading. Italing that your device will show its last location for up to 24 hours...

Even if it does show the last location, that is of little value, once the iPhone is off or restored to factory settings it is untrackable.  It is best to inform your carrier immediately with the IMEI number so they can blacklist the iPhone, if they will provide that service.  Some do, some don't.  Apple will not assist other than maintaining their own records of lost/stolen iPhones.

  • Apple technical support *****. Can't even tell me how to hard reset my iPhone. I have to pay $300 to get an answer.

Can anyone tell me how to hard reset an iPhone? Thanks!

Apple Technical Support does not **** if you are within warranty or paid for AppleCare. Otherwise, you are expecting something for free when everyone else was required to pay. In my opinion, that would ****.
Apple's website has plenty of knowledgebase articles that you can access for free. You can try it too. I searched the Internet for iphone reset and here is one of the top hits:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1
There are also the forums (i.e., here) where other users are more than willing to volunteer their time to help you solve issues.
