Do iPods come with scratches?

do iPods when they come from the factory, into the store and into your hands, have any scratches prior to your own use? i had some scratches on mine, but there are so many (in a particular cicular pattern) scratches. I really can't tell. AND also...when you can only see scratches in like, when it's held against the sun and your own lights in your bedroom, is that a bad thing?
Can SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

well i never saw any on my i pod but i gues ur luky mmmmm i would have to say that if the ipod works well then u should not worry about it and if u got the need and got time u could take it back to the store u bought it (if u stil got the recip) and splain to them ur situation and i'm sure they will replace it 4 u

  • Do the REFURBISHED 20G Ipods come with new batteries?

It seems like a good deal for a 20GB Color ipod for $120, but do they come with new batteries or wil it die in 3 months?
Is the battery covered under the 1 year warranty?

They should be as good as a new model. Yes the batteries are covered under the one-year warranty so you should be all set, at least for a year.
I bought my daughter a refurbished 30GB video model for her birthday in October and basically it was a brand new unit in a different box. So far so good.

  • What Type of Case Does the Video iPod Come With?

Do I need to buy another one? Or is the one it comes with fine?

I just bought a ipod video, comes with a leather case and you can't play it while in the case, its alright but I'm not using it. I got a skin, which i find is much more easier and I like it better.

  • Do US ipods come with international Warranties?

I wanted to know if the ipods from the US all come with an international warranty? I have heard that US ipods all come with docks, and looking at various shop websites for the US they are £50 cheaper to buy the 20gb color version than in UK!! So if I can get it replaced or repaired under and international warranty, and the power supply isn't an issue then why not get one from the US? Why do brits get a raw deal? Its more expensive to buy in the UK and we don't get docks supplied!!! Is this fair? Anyway if anyone can clarify the whole International warranty issue cause that is the main worry about buying one in the US. Cheers

We bought 2 ipods in the US and rang Apple to check on the warranties. Yep, they have international warranties and yep they are quite a bit cheaper. Ours didn't come with docks however, and we don't remember them coming like that as standard. Better check that again.
Being regular visitors to the States I agree with you about the Brits being ripped off at home part!!
A couple of things to consider though. If you buy it online and have it shipped you will probably have to pay customs duty (at VAT rate of 17.5%) and a fee to the post office 'for processing' - another rip-off.
Also your ipod will come with a US power adapter. The voltage is fine as the ipod is dual voltage but the lead will be a US style plug. You will either have to buy the UK plug type power adapter, or like our girls do, use an international sort of travel plug thing. Can be a bit of a pain.
So in summary I'd say if you are over there and can hand carry the thing back from the Green channel at customs it's probably worth it - if not, then you might want to think carefully.

  • Why doesn't new ipod come with instruction manual?

I was surprised when my new 30 GB ipod did not come with a thick instruction manual, but just a little quickstart booklet. Does Apple expect us to have to learn everything online? I think it is very cheap to not include an instruction book.

as you state its all on line.. print it out and then you have a book.

  • Do the new iPods come with the 1.2 update on them now?

If so, is it advisable to hook it to a computer with Itunes 6 and the last stand alone update to restore it before hooking it to the computer with Itunes 7.02? Does the 1.2 format work better when it comes installed on the iPod already? My daughter is getting the 80gb video iPod for Christmas. After reading all the problems on here, it worries me that her iPod won't work well with 1.2 on it.

I wouldn't take any risks (by connecting it to an older version of iTunes). Some iPods have had to be restored after doing that, simply because the older version of iTunes may not understand some of the iPod's files.
Of course there are going to be many people with problems in these forums. This is a support forum. No one comes here with working iPods or iTunes, nor do they post that everything is working fine. For the vast majority of people, the latest version of iTunes 7 works fine.

  • Replacement IPod comes with a sad Ipod icon

This is my problem. I received a replacement IPod yesterday and I haven´t been able to make it work since then. I have downloaded the last updates of the IPod and the ITunes software, but I can´t restore it, my computer just doesn´t recognize the IPod.
Everytime I plug it to the my computer's USB 2.0 all I see in the screen is the Apple logo and, after that, a sad IPod with an exclamation sign. I have also tried to charge the battery, but it just doesn´t charge, it keeps on restarting again and again.
Don't know what to do, any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Send it back again, it's still broken.

  • Every ipod comes with a warranty right?

So I have this ipod classic that I want to take in store. I bought at best buy by the way. And I want them to check it see if the can repair it. Will I be charged if its covered under warranty still? and do I have to take my box and my receipt?

Basically, it's any physical problem with the iPod which wasn't caused by a manufacturing defect or something done during an authorized repair.

  • Does any iPod come with a Repeat a-b Feature?

Can't believe I have been unable to find one with this feature so crucial to musicians.

Sometimes it's called Section Repeat. It's great for musicians who need to learn, say, guitar or piano licks.
Also great for someone learning a new language. Repatition's the thing. Being able to loop any part of a song is the idea, as described above.

  • What does the new ipod come with?

I just ordered mine online and I want to know if I need to go buy USB cables or a charger, etc before I get it in the mail.
    Thanks

And why the **** did they stop the firewire cables from working ??? I was very suprised last night....plugged it in at home and it came up on the screen that it doesnt support Firewire anymore....*** ???

  • I just read that all iPods come with a one year apple care warrenty does that count for iPods that you sent in to be replaced and does it cover cracks in the screen

    1

A unit replaced under warranty will have the balance of the warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer. No, it does not cover physical damage, such as broken screens.

  • Regarding a refurbished ipod Touch: Do they come with a new screen and/or battery?

I am deciding if I should (to save money) order a refurbished 4th gen. ipod touch. I previously had a refurbished 2nd gen. touch and had no problems with it.
If anyone can answer these 2 questions, I'd appreciate it...
    1. I know a refurbished ipod comes with a new outer shell...does that include a new screen or do I take a chance at getting a scratched up screen?
    2. Do they put a new battery in the refurbished ipods, or do I get a partially used battery causing me to have to replace it sooner?
Both of these will come into play as I make my decision to buy one at the refurbed price or full price.
    Thanks!

It depends on who you buy it from. If you buy it at a store you can usually ask to use it or which ios it has. If you get one that has iOS 6 you can update to iOS 7 anytime. If you get iOS 7 you cannot downgrade. So in the end, it depends on who you buy it from and if the store/company can tell you.

  • What is the case that comes with the iPod?

I'm planning on getting a 30GB iPod but, this stupid company won't say what is in the box. I know it comes with a case. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the case or could at least give me a brief description. If anyone could, I would greatly appreciate it.
All I know is, that this company really could care less about it's customers. I can't even contact them about this.
    Thanks Again

the 5th gen iPod comes with a small faux leather envelope-like case, light grey in color, that has a soft cotton-like interior. it has an opening in the top and is just large enough to hold the ipod. reminds me of one of those tiny wallets that will only hold a credit card. you slide the ipod in the top. while the ipod is in its case you cannot access the click-wheel, screen etc. basically you can't see the ipod.
if you're looking for a case that will protect the ipod while allowing you to use the interface, you will need to buy anouther one.

  • Cd didn't come with ipod nano...

On the site it says every ipod comes with a cd to install software... but my green 4GB ipod didn't come with one... I even checked the store to make sure I wasn't missing anything... my mini had a cd with it so i was wondering why my nano didn't

On the site it says every ipod comes with a cd to install software
    Where did you see this?
    Here is from the iPod page at the Apple store;
    "iTunes
    Available as a free download"
No, the Nano does not come with a disc.
Go here -> iTunes Free download
to download iTunes (that's all you need).
Here is a link for the iPod Nano Users manual.

  • What comes with the 6G replacement iPod?

When the 1st G iPod is replaced, does the new 6G iPod come with earphones & charge/sync cord?

    deggie wrote:
My understanding is it comes with only the iPod, but you might want to jump into one of the long threads where people have received a replacement and ask one of them. I know a service replacement unit does not come with any accessories.
Mine did - Apple Earphones, Dock connector to USB cable and the Quick Start Guide.
