Is iTunes pre-installed on a new iMac (late 2012) running Mountain Lion? if so - which version?

iTunes comes in OS X, so iTunes is preinstalled on an iMac. Depending on the OS X version your iMac has got, it will have one or another iTunes version, but it should come with iTunes 10.7 or 11. Open Software Update to install the most recent iTunes version, iTunes 11.0.4, because your iMac won't come with the most recent iTunes version

Will all new macbook pro come with Lion pre-installed?

I will be purchasing a new MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks. I presume it will come with OSX Lion pre-installed. I would prefer to have only Snow Leopard installed since I won't be upgrading my other Mac Pro immediately. Will it just be necessary to re-install the Snow Leopard and start from scratch?

It depends where you buy the mac also if you get a new macbook air it will most undoubtly have LION. But I would say it's safe to assume that most macbooks that have stayed on the shelves at these apple stores have not been opened and updated. So I would think that if you purchased a new mac today unless it was a macbook air it should only have Snow leopard installed on it and they should give you a code to redeem a copy of Lion.

Or if you have to purchase and download Lion from the App store at home. Lion seems to only be pre-installed on the mac minis and macbook air. Let me know if I am wrong!

Just bought a Refurbished Macbook Pro with Retina Display 15.4in (Feb. 2013) and was wondering if it came pre installed with Mavericks.

I would doubt it as Mavericks was only released a few days ago. Check under About This Mac and it will tell you what OSX it is running.

Does iPhone 4s now come with iOS6 pre-installed?

I am looking at buying a new Iphone ASAP, but it looks like there are alot of problems with iOS6 so is there a way to get an Iphone without it at least untill Apple fixs the problems.
So does anyone know if iOS6 has been pre-intalled on the iPhone 4s.

You won't necessarily find what your looking for with the date range because most people update their iPhones.
You can still go to maps.google.com on your iPhone and then add it to your homescreen with the arrow at the bottom of the screen. I haven't ran into any Exchange issues.
In general, the updates are going to fix more problems than they create. I haven't ran into any problems with Maps or Exchange on my iPhone, which is running iOS 6.

Computers with Java pre-installed

I am working with a customer looking to purchase a numnber oif PCs for a Java application and am looking for a list of namer brand computers that come with Java pre-installed. I know Dell pre-installs Java, but they are particularly interested in HP systems. Does anyone know of a comprehensive list of PC verndors who pre-install Java, and if not, if specifically HP pre-installs?

Brand new iMac running slow with only 3% of HD used!

I just purchased a new iMAC 21.5" with 2.9 i5 and 8GB memory and literally have yet to add any programs except AI, ID and PS and its running very poorly. This is my first MAC and i'm very disappointed. I purchased this computer for school where I am getting my BS in media arts. I use an older 27" iMAC at school using all the same programs and more and my new computer doesn't hold a candle to its usability. For example, opening up the programs takes what I consider to be a long time being that there is nothing on the HD. While in PS, and trying to edit, without even having multiple windows open, or multiple layers, it will not instantly edit in the preview window. If and when it decides to edit the computer, then it prompts the color wheel buffer. I specifically told the guy at the store exactly what I would be using it for - to only run the Adobe programs and CC. Since owning the iMAC, I have updated the suggested programs from the apple store and had the most recent OS updates.
The model number of the computer: A1418 any help would be greatly appreciated! If I don't have the correct model I need - I will gladly make the unsaid large retail giant take it back, one way or another.

First, I would try the following suggested steps for when you don't see content in iTunes after updating:
Quit iTunes.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Use the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) to go to the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes library files:
Mac OS X
/Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Microsoft Windows Windows XP and Windows 2000
\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Windows Vista and Windows 7
\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
Drag the iTunes Library file from the above location to the Desktop.
Open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in the iTunes folder.
Locate the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you upgraded iTunes (Year-Month-Day).
Drag this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder).
Rename this file to iTunes Library.
Open iTunes.
You should now see your missing content in iTunes.

Does the ipad come with itunes preinstalled, or would I haave to buy it separately. I know I'd have to purchase another copy if pages, which I have on my imac.

Yes - but the iTunes that comes installed on the iPad is the iTunes Store where you purchase your media. The iPad comes with a preinstalled iPod App and that is where your music library resides and plays on the iPad - not in iTunes.
You don't have to buy either apps for the iPad.

We are still on FCP6. We never upgraded to 7, and we have just upgraded our iMacs.
FCP6 does not work with the new iMac and we would like to continue using the older version of of FCP.

You should refrain from repeating this suggestion about Rosetta (especially since you have no direct experience with it). Much has changed since the time of its discussion back in the introduction of Lion days.
The fact of the matter is that Rosetta has no valid function installed into Lion or Mt. Lion and users have reported serious system problems and crashes after further subsequent modifications and System updates.
There are two safe methods to install FCP6 (FCS2) into Lion or Mt. Lion:

The 2012 iMacs are also in essence glued together and very difficult to disassemble and reassemble. The bottom line is: don't try it.
Why, if I may ask, would you want to remove the 3TB drive and replace it with a 1TB drive? What is it you hope to achieve even if it were possible?

In the case of the former you need to provide the router. In the case of the latter you do not. But a router is needed to create a wireless network in your home.
