Do Not Disconnect Doesn't turn off - itunes not finding ipod

My ipod has been plugged in for hours and it still says do not disconnect. Also, itunes says that there is no ipod connected. How do I fix these and have itunes find my ipod.

Maybe you should try and restore it to factory settings by using your iPod updater and selecting "Restore".

  • Can I turn off iTunes match on one computer only?

I have iTunes installed on two laptops, one at home and one at school (I'm a teacher). iTunes match has worked great for my home computer and iPad, BUT...I do not want my music on the school laptop. Is there a way to turn off iTunes match on one machine only? I thought I had turned it off, but when I went to add some audio books for school it said it was adding them to iTunes match and now the books show up on all my devices.
To be clear, I want to keep iTunes match for my personal laptop and iPad, but would like to turn it off on the school laptop.

    Hi,
Yes. To turn off match Go to menu > store > and select turn off itunes match.
To turn it back on you need to turn on from same point but you will be asked to sign in and add this computer.

If you are in Hong Kong, go to Digital Trade, 1/F, Sincere Plaza, Argyle Street, and it will cost you 120-150HKD, but before you go check that your power button and home button are working correctly, if not press as hard as you can, hope this will help.

  • How can I turn off itunes match on my phone without losing all my playlists?

I have itunes match but want to keep all my music on my iPhone because I travel and don't always have access to the internet.  I upgrades to ios8 and now it seems if I turn off iTunes Match in my phone it get rid of all my playlists.  How can I stop that from happening.  I want my music, and playlist on my phone.

To keep playlists on the phone, create them on the phone
To keep music on the phone, download the tracks before turning off Match.
But turning off Match isn't really necessary. Just turn off Show all music in the music app settings, or do not attempt to play a track that has a cloud icon (i.E. isn't downloaded).

    Hey Rafacandido,
Thanks for the question. Let’s see if we can isolate the issue further. To do so, try restarting/resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the issue persists after a restart, let's try a reset of your settings as outlined below:
    Reset iPhone settings - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph7a2a9399b
Reset iPhone settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:
Reset All Settings:  All your preferences and settings are reset.
And finally, if the issue persists you can try a back up and restore as new:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
After erasing and setting up as a new device, your device is now in a factory configuration. Test to determine if erasing and setting up as a new device resolved the issue. Content on the device may have caused unexpected behavior.
If the issue is still present, you may want to contact Apple Support.
    Thanks,

  • HT204406 How can I turn off iTunes match on my mac

I want to disable iTunes Match on my Macbook Pro?   How do I do that?
The main reason is bc I just want to sync all of  my music to my iPad and not have to download it from the cloud one song at a time on my iPad.

    jrhuff -
    Open iTunes
At the top menu select "Store"
Scroll down to "Turn off iTunes Match" (I've already turned mine off so it shows " Turn on iTunes Match") If your's is on, it will say, "Turn off iTunes Match"

  • On my 4 yer old imac when I run aps/programs or on the net with my Itunes runnig everything runs super slow, turn off itunes all runs fast again, any ideas

On my 4 year old imac, when I run aps/programs or on the web "with my Itunes runnig" everything runs super slow, when I turn off itunes all runs fast again.  Note I have upated all software.  Any ideas out their.  Thanks William

2gb of RAM is not a lot for keeping too many apps and the OS running comfortably. Have you tried running with as few apps open as possible at any one time - preferably just the one you are currently using, to see if this improves performance?
Also, you could launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder and it'll give you an idea of what is going on memory-wise.

  • My macbook doesn't turn off and filesystem verify or repair failed

My macbook doesn't turn off unless I take out the battery, which I did not do at this time. Used disk utility and it came up with Error: filesystem verify or repair failed. Missing thread record id=2099508. Incorrect number of thread records.  Invalid file count. Should be 1042169 instead of 1042170. The volume needs to be repaired - 7%. Okay, shall I take out the battery, then put it back in, and on startup press D and do a hardware test? Or what?  Thank you.  Ellen
    These are the MacBook's specs:
    Processor Name:
    Intel Core 2 Duo
       Processor Speed:
    2.4 GHz
       Number Of Processors:

       Total Number Of Cores:

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I had work to do on my computer, and I didn't want to rsk messing around with it until I finished.  So, I removed the battery in order to turn off the computer, then restarted it , holding down the D key at the same time. The computer started up, but no screen came up to continue. So I again removed the battery, though I did first try shutting it down the correct way, and aain restarted with holding the D key down. Nothing happed no hardware test.  So, everything is backed up now, and is my next step to insert my Mac OS X install disc 1, or do I earase everything and install it,?  And am I supposed to install the disc while holding down the C key?
    Thank you.

  • No option to turn off iTunes Match in IOS?!

I used iTunes Match for a while and decided now to renew my subscription, so I let it expire.
On my computer I have managed to turn off iTunes Match, but when I go to Settings>Music or Settings>iTunes on my iphone, there is no option to turn off iTunes Match! There is only an option to renew.
This is frustrating as ****, I can't load any new music onto my phone because iTunes Match is still 'on'.
I've tried singing out of my iTunes account, turning off my phone, and turning it back on, but nothing has worked.
Is anyone else having the same issue?
    Does anyone have any fixes?

Thanks. I thought I might as well mention one last thing here, in case anyone else has the same issue.
Even after I erased and restored my iPhone from the cloud backup, there was an issue. All of the songs I previously had on my iPhone (that were erased when I restored) became 'ghost files' and didn't show up in the music app. They did, however, show up in the iPhone when it was plugged into iTunes. They showed up in the iPhone music section of my iTunes, greyed out, with a little dotted circle to the left of each song. I couldn't delete them; when I did, if I unplugged my iPhone and plugged it back in to my computer the files reappeared 'greyed out' in my iPhone music.
I found the fix here (credit to Jerrill): https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5369825?tstart=0
I'll quote it here for ease:
"I downloaded one of the file explorer programs (iFunbox in my case) for my PC and deleted everything out of the "Purchases" folder on the phone's "Raw File System". After a couple of syncs with iTunes everything was back to normal. It appears that something was screwed up on the iPhone side that iTunes couldn't sort out. I don't think anything could sync from iTunes to the phone, not just the greyed out items."
So, basically, if anyone encounters the glitch in the OP, do the following:
Back up your phone to iCloud.
Erase all settings on your iPhone.
    Restore from iCloud backup.
Download a file explorer program (I used iFunbox as per Jerrill's instructions).
Delete ALL files from the 'Purchases' folder on the iPhone's 'Raw File System'.
Reset your iPhone by holding the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Plug your iPhone into iTunes, and select 'Sync Music' then check 'Sync selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres'. Uncheck ALL the boxes (don't sync any music to your iPhone).
    Sync.
Unplug your iPhone and reset it again by holding the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Plug your iPhone back into your computer and the ghost files should be gone.
I then unchecked 'Sync Music' then checked 'Manually manage music and videos' because I like having more control.
Now to repeat the process with my iPad... iTunes Match, never again.

  • How do i turn off iTunes match, it won't turn off even though it says it's off?

how do i turn off iTunes match, it won't turn off even though it says it's off?

On what device and why, exactly, do you think iTunes Match is not turned off?

  • Trying to turn off iTunes Match, stays enabled on iOS devices.

So I have had issues with playlists and such with iTM so I decided to turn it off.  Well I turn it off on my iPhone 4s/iPad 2/new iPad/iPhone 4 and on ALL of the devices NONE of them will successfully turn off iTM.  Settings > Music will show iTM disabled but when you open up the Music app you still see everything and the you can stream/download anything you want.  Here is what I have tried so far:
Disable iTunes Match everywhere (Mac Pro/iOS Devices) and no change
iOS Devices (tried all of them) settings > general > usage and delete the music usage.  Then turn off iTunes Match > reboot > open up music app, still see everything.
I am pulling my hair out and have no clue what else to try.  Thoughts anyone??   It seems strange it is happening on ALL my iOS devices...the only device that seems to work perfectly is the MacBook Air which has no music on it and just uses match.  iOS Devices though are stuck in some strange loop where I cannot turn off iTunes Match.
Running iOS 5.1 on all devices and iTunes 10.6

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately that did not work for me.  I turned off match and let it sit for over 3 hours and music never disappeared.  I made sure to turn off auto-lock so the iPhone/iPad didn't go to sleep and neither device ever cleared out the music so I just restored from iCloud backup.
Now the other thing thats strange is I still have autolock turned off and both devices are sitting on the music app and on my iPhone I have the cloud icon going with the status bar and took 3 hours to get it complete the first time and then someone called me and foolishly answered the phone and then it started all over again.  On my iPad I don't see the cloud icon but i have the spinning wheel going in the corner for almost 24 straight hours now.  I have all my music/artwork back but none of my playlists so I am going to let both these devices sit until the spinning circle stops.
I do have a large library of just under 25,000 songs so maybe thats why its taking so long but I haven't had this issue before iOS 5.1 and iTunes 10.6.

  • HT204406 Does anyone else have to "Turn Off iTunes Match" and "Turn On iTunes Match" for it to become available and working on a second computer??

Everyday I get to work and open iTunes. Everyday the iTunes Match logo next to my library is constantly working and never stops. The only way I can have access to my iTunes Match library is to "Turn Off iTunes Match" and "Turn On iTunes Match" immediatly after. It checks libraries and then everything is available.
Is there a reason and a way to have my iTunes Match to work as soon as I open iTunes?
    The requirements are met:
    iTunes: 10.6.3 (25)
    OS X: 10.6.8
    Thanks
    Marc

  • How do you permanently turn off iTunes match?

I just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS7. I'm very excited and happy with the update. Everything looks very nice and is much more intuitive than before. However, I am having one slight problem. I can't turn off iTunes match.
iTunes match is not something I like to use on my phone. I've always found it to be a little annoying and it tends to get in the way of my music listening experience. Once the update was complete, I opened up settings, went to music, and deselected iTunes match. However, it's not staying unselected. Everytime I look back into the music options it's turned on again. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've been having the same problem for about a week now and it's driving me crazy. I've changed passwords in everything to reflect the new protocols (that nobody informed us about, I might add) of having at least one capital, etc. etc., but that hasn't changed anything. I do have one song pending download that WON'T download because the file at iTunes is apparently corrupt, and I can't seem to simply eliminate this one song from the queue. HELP!!!!

  • Turn off iTunes match

Every time i start iTunes, it attempts to match my songs with iCloud. I have over 10,000 songs in my library.  This takes about 10 minutes, during which time, nothing else can be done in iTunes.  How do I turn this off so it is only done manually, not automatically?

go to the store tab on itunes. Not the actual store but the tab at the top of the screen that says store and press the turn off itunes match.
Step 3 takes a while if you have a lot of uploads and a slow connection.
basically it takes a while if you have a lot of uploads and a fast connection.
If you'll leave it running and just walk away from it and let it do its thing it will finally get done.
Just be patient.  It's not as fast as we all expected, especially with all the people uploading to it at the same time.
