Do Not Disconnect screen and can't open iTunes!

I upgraded to Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. I installed iTunes and restarted my computer like it said to. I couldn't open iTunes, so I plugged in my iPod to see if maybe it would open iTunes. My computer recognized my iPod and I got the Do Not Disconnect screen. It's been on the screen for about 20 minutes. Does anyone have any idea what I do to make it "okay" to unplug my iPod? Does anyone know how I get iTunes to open? If anyone can help, I'd really, really appreciate it! Thanks.

Get into Windows Explorer and right-click > Eject your iPod.

  • Installed iTunes 7.6 and can't open iTunes

    Hi,
I recently installed iTunes 7.6 and at first it gave me the error message -2096. I restored my computer and tried to open iTunes and got the message saying "QuickTime unavailable. QuickTime was not found. QuickTime is require to run iTunes. Please reinstall iTunes." This happened to me when I downloaded iTunes 7.5 as well and it deleted all the songs off of my iPod for nearly a week. I'm getting very fed up with this and I was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem and could help to resolve this?
    Thanks.

    OK, I fixed it:
Find iTunes on My Computer (i think it's the C Drive but mine is on an external hard drive so I'm really not sure)
Right click on the actual file of iTunes.exe and find the compatability tab (not QuickTime, iTunes, because i know i did QuickTime before)
Unclick the box that says that you want it to run in Compatability mode.
    It should work after that.
    Hope that helped.
    Katherine

  • Loaded update and can't open iTunes anymore

just installed the update and now it will not open? Any advice?

Verify your hard drive with Disk Utility (not the permissions verify, the other one).  If it needs repairing then we can go into that.  Next, repair permissions with DU.  Now download the iTunes updater.  Don't use Software Update.  Install the update.  Run DU again to repair permissions.  Try iTunes again.
Ideally you should back up your computer before running any update.  If an update causes problems and results in file loss then you won't have ot worry.

  • Upgrade to 7.7 on Windows XP and can't open iTunes

I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times after upgrading to 7.7 so that I could activate my new iPhone. When I try to launch iTunes...nothing happens. I see that the exe is listed in task manager and if I delete it and try to run it again I get the following message.
The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\cryptdlg.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your Windows installation.
HELP! I was on the phone with tech support for two hours without any resolution.

The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\cryptdlg.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your Windows installation.
Okay. Literally, it's saying that one of the dlls associated with Cryptographic Services on the PC (cryptdlg.dll) is acting up in some way. And if some of those dlls are misregistered, damaged or missing, then you can get an error-message-free iTunes launch failure (even though the iTunes.exe process appears in your Task Manager).
So, first I think we should try checking to see if it's a registration problem with the dlls. With that in mind, try running through *Method 4* from the following Microsoft document:
(MS) You cannot install some updates or programs
*If any of the dlls fail to deregister or reregister,* let us know which ones they are, and what any error messages say when the deregistration or reregistration fails.
*If all the dlls deregister and reregister,* try restarting the PC and launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?

  • Uploaded Yosemite and can't open iTunes

Installed Yosemite and updated iTunes.  Now iTunes will not open. Cannot access library or store.

You cannot open the Mail app or a folder within Mail?  If the problem is a folder within Mail, go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions on the internal drive and then restart the MBP.

  • TS1277 Tried to install latest version of itunes and got MSVCR80.DLL is missing and can't open Itunes at all?

Can anyone help me with this as it only happened when I tried to update my latest version of ITUNES

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I updated to Mavericks and can't open iTunes

I keep getting a report that says "iTunes quit unexpectedly while using the PubSub plugin". Anyone know what could be going on here?

I had the same issue, only I got a blank box popup with an ok button. Click the ok and it shuts down what little of iTunes may have been open.
Downloading and re-installing iTunes did the trick for me.

    Geo

I held the "Menu" button along with the center button
for about 6 seconds (as they state you should) and
all of the sudden the screen finally broke from the
"Do not disconnect" screen and began charging, now
everything is working as it should.
Oh my gosh, thanks so much, that did it! I, too, did not know that the "Select" button is the middle. And in fact, in all my prior repeated attempts to re-set my iPod, I had made a point of trying NOT to press the middle, but just the Menu button and the bottom button at the same time (since I thought that the bottom/play button must also be the select button). (Why did I think that? Answer -- because the 5R's instructions seemed, I mistakenly thought, to be saying to be careful not to touch the middle. I guess not. If anybody at Apple is reading this, please note that people like me can easily confused by unexplained verbiage like "Select button," apparently. Please consider tweaking the 5R's instructions to explain this to others.)
