Do not disturb problems

Has anybody worked out the do not disturb problem yet. Switching it on and off did not seem to help
Leon

I've seen a lot of reports of a problem with DND not turning off on January 1, but I haven't experienced it, and several others have reported no problems. It may be time zone related.

  • I have a frustrating problem with my iPhone 5 post ios8 installation. The ring tone won't sound when phone is locked/switched off, although the vibration does work. I think it has something to do with "do not disturb"

Hi, I have a frustrating problem that seems to have occurred post iOS 8 installation. When my iphone5 is switched off the ring tone fails to sound i only get the vibration. If i am using my phone and a have an incoming call then the ring tone works as normal. I think it has something to do with "do not disturb" ... i see from the menu in "do not disturb" that under the heading "silence" there are two options "always" and "only when the phone is locked" This does not seem to make sense as i have to choose one or the other!
If anybody can help advise me on this problem i would be very grateful.
    Thanks

    Hello Mogulman46,
So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.
Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • IPhone will not ring if locked even when Do Not Disturb is not on. Even when the sound toggle on the side is not red.  This problem occurs regardless of whether it I have Do not Disturb on (manually, or scheduled) or COMPLETELY OFF.

iPhone will not ring if locked when when Do Not Disturb is not on and the phone is not on silent (button on side is not red).  This problem occurs regardless of whether it I have Do not Disturb on (manually, or scheduled) or COMPLETELY OFF.   I've tried wiping the phone and reinstalling from a saved copy but of course the problem comes back because the problem is inherent in the save.   There are two options under "Silence" at the bottom of the Do Not Disturb preferences.  "Always" or "Only when iPhone is locked".   Those are the only two options and I want neither.  No amount of deselecting will work.  It forces you to pick one.
Does anyone have a solution given that I've better explained the problem?

The settings at the bottom of the Do Not Disturb page do not matter if you have the switch for Manual turned to off, or the Scheduled turned to off.
When the phone is unlocked, if you try to raise the volume of the ringer, what do you see on the screen? Does it say ringer, do you see the word headphones anywhere?

  • Do not disturb does not block any incoming calls. Has anyone else had this problem how do you fix it

I Would really like to use this feature. But everytime I activate do not disturb I still receive calls and I am still disturbed.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

If you update to iOS 7.0, DND works both while your phone is locked, & when not locked. On iOS 6.0, only works when your phone is locked.
You have to go into settings and choose which you want.  Always or only when locked.  If you choose only when locked if you ar using your phone for anything, even it if is just sitting on a home page with the screen unlocked DND won't stop a call from coming through.

  • Settings:  Do Not Disturb functionality problem

All of a sudden my do not disturb automatic scheduling stopped working.  It always worked in the past.  Now I can still use it manually, but the automatic times on and off simply don't function.  Does anyone have a fix?

  • Problems with Do Not Disturb

Recently my Do Not Disturb has not kept an automatic schedule where it turns on and off automatically. Instead, it remains in Do Not Disturb mode all the time unless I manually turn the function off. Any ideas of how to remedy this?

    It is a known issue.

Call your phone carrier - that's a problem for them to resolve.

  • Do Not Disturb in Mavericks Not Muting Alert Sounds

I installed Mavericks lately and have noticed my Do Not Disturb schedule in Notifications Center doesn't mute the sounds for notifications. I have the schedule set to 10PM to 8AM, but was awoken this morning at 4AM by emails hitting my inbox.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
I guess I have to go back to my Calendar/Automator script that mutes systems sounds. Ugh.

I'm having the same problem, but only on my new iMac with Mavericks. I haven't seen a solution yet.

  • After the most recent iOS update, notification center doesn't show messages from people who are on "do not disturb mode". Anyone know how to fix it?

Originally, even if I had some messages on the "do not disturb" mode, I would still be able to preview them in the notification center. After the latest update about a week or so ago, the only messages that appear are the ones that aren't on "do not disturb". I've tried taking them all off the DND mode and turning it back on, messed with the settings, even turned my phone off and on, but nothing is working.
    Any ideas?

Follow-up to my earlier post that iPhone 6 Bluetooth not working correctly.  I purchased a Jawbone MiniJambox to use as a speaker phone in my office.  Everyone in our company thinks they are the best.  However, it is experiencing the same issues as with all my other Bluetooth headsets.  Everything works except cannot answer or hang up calls pushing the buttons on the Bluetooth devices.  The Bluetooth patio speakers in our courtyard also have the same issue.  However, my colleagues using iPhone 5 and 5s who did not update to iOS8 are using all Bluetooth devices without any issues.  Apple says it is a problem with my Bluetooth device.  Come on Apple.... This makes 7 different Bluetooth devices with different manufacturers.  You cannot possibly believe the problem is with the Bluetooth devices when iOS7 works perfectly fine...
On another issue, my iPhone 5s worked perfectly fine in my vehicle entertainment center connected via USB.  The vehicle entertainment center had complete control of my iPhone and iTunes.  However, now I plug in my new iPhone 6 and it no longer communicates with my vehicle entertainment center.  Again when I called Apple, they said my vehicle entertainment center needed a firmware update.  Are you kidding me...  That is a bunch of BS...!!!

Are you using the phone when it rings.
Do Not Disturb only works when the phone is in Sleep mode.

  • Do Not Disturb function stopped working automatically

My "Do Not Disturb" function on my iPhone 5 worked per the time schedule I set in Notifications. It only works when I manually set the On/Off function. Does anyone have a fix?
Disregard this. I have the January 7 notice.

I had this problem on 1st Jan, and still have this problem today (2/1/13)
I don't know how wide spread this bug it, but I wouldn't call it sporadic, as I have 2 iPhones (iPhone 5 and iPhone 4) as well as an iPad 3 with the latest versions of iOS and ALL 3 have this DND bug
Its so annoying, i'm just waiting on the fix but for now I have had to turn the feature off completely!

  • Pidgin: Need way to override auto "Do Not Disturb" Status when in meeting

As my team found out this morning, there is a feature in the Beehive / Pidgin integration that automatically sets the Pidgin status to "Do Not Disturb" when there is a meeting on your calendar. Problem is there is no way to override this. In fact, unless someone tells you, you don't even know it is occuring. It is in the FAQ section and say it cannot be overriden. Well I was in my weekly hour long meeting this morning - It lasted for 10 minutes yet all 12 of us in the meeting had a status of Do Not Disturb for a whole hour.
I think it is ok to automiatically change to Do Not Disturb, but the user should be able to change it back whenever they want. If the meeting ends early for example.
There needs to be a way to do this or they should disable this feature! I have already received a bunch of email from other members of my team.
What is the best way to provide feedback to the Beehive team?
This is one of those "Looks Good on Paper" but not in the "Real World"

  • Blue Shapes Occuring Randomly(Not Line Problem)

Blue Shapes Occuring Randomly(Not Line Problem)
I have just purchased my powerbook 1.67 1440*960. I started to see blue shapes around the windows that I move and around many things that move on the sceen after the first week of my purchase. At first I thought this was a configuration problem but it seems more like an hardware problem although the hardware test found all the devices successfull.
In addition, when I installed call of duty, the blue shapes occur very fast and randomly everywhere on the screen making it impossible to play the game.
You could have a look at the picture to see how disturbing they are.
    http://homepage.mac.com/altan.sursal/FileSharing1.html
Does anybody have an idea why such blue shapes occur?
    Thanks All

Most likely one of the reasons your not getting any answers is that you need to post a link to the page.  Sifting through all that code without the ability to see the actual page makes the going slow.
Post a link to the page and I'm sure help will be on the way.
