Do not have adobe reader X installed.

Install a different version of adobe reader 11 also, but I've done, is that the same error occurs, must be installed.

Sorry, I don't understand the error message, but you could try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Safari won't display pdf in browser and I do not have adobe reader or ply ins

I've been checking the posts and all the discussions/questions and answers but the only thing I have been able to find about problems displaying pdfs in browser have to do with adobe plug-ins. I never had adobe reader and checked in /library/internet plug ins and never found those plug ins. I then downloaded and installed adobe reader X and got rid of the plug ins in the library and that still has not solved the problem. Whenever I click on a link for a pdf it just automatically downloads the pdf. I just want to view the pdfs in the browser.
    Thanks for the help

    Hi,
You probably won't have to reinstall Safari. Two things you can try. If you open Adobe Reader and go into the 'Internet' section of its preferences, you should be able to disable the browser plug-in. Some times that alone isn't enough, in which case, browse to HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and move the Adobe plugin out of the folder. Restart Safari for the changes to take effect.

  • I have Adobe Reader X installed, but no pdf's will open.

The problem seemed to start after installing the app needed to watch the Olympics.  That app was uninstalled.  Uninstalling & reinstalling Reader does not seem to help.  Any suggestions?  I get no error.  Reader simply does not respond at all.

I do not quite understand the connection between Flash Player and Adobe Reader; they are entirely different programs.
    Questions:
can you open Adobe Reader by itself, e.g. from the desktop icon?
can you open PDF documents from your local disk?
can you open online PDF documents, e.g. http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_10.1.3.pdf ?
When the answer of any of these questions is no, then please explain what exactly happens instead?
P.S. if you have problems with online PDFs, what is the web browser you use?

    Hi,
Adobe ExportPDF and PDF Pack services have the tool to export your PDF files to PPTX files and below are the steps how to do:
    Using Web UI:
Log into https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html or https://createpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
    Select “Export from PDF”
Click “Select Files” button then choose your PDF file
Select the format from the list below
Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text
    Click “Export” button
Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.
    Download Files:
All exported files are stored at https://files.acrobat.com and you can login with your Adobe ID and password.
Or at Web UI you can click “FILES” next to “TOOLS” at top or click “View All files” in the file list of “Export from PDF” tool

Ok, let's continue in here since you were able to answer.
Still, you need to provide information:
    what is your operating system?
what is your Reader XI version?
are you trying to view a local or online PDF?  If online, in what browser?
what is the full and exact message you are getting?  You can post a screenshot if you want: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933

  • Adobe Reader XI installed but "Not Found"

I have Adobe Reader XI installed and apparently running normally. Unfortunately the UK's Parcelforce web-site says it can't find it.
I get the message " Adobe Acrobat NOT found. You must have Adobe Reader (5 or better) with the browser plugin properly working"
Can anyone help me please? How can I tell if "the browser plugin is properly working" ?

In IE11 use Tools | Manage Add-ons, then show All Add-ons.  Do you see the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, and is it enabled?

  • HT204347 I need to find out what is wrong with my Macbook Pro. I have Adobe Reader installed on it and Adobe Flashplayer installed on it. I am not able to do anything with either of these programs, no videos, printing certificates, etc.

I have adobe reader installed on my Macbook Pro and also Adobe flashplayer installed. I am not anble to see any video from the net, news feeds, or anything like that on my computer. I cannot print off certificates that I need all it does when I attempt to print the certificate is that it shows that it is loading and comes back and tells me there was an error in loading the information. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

    What is your operating system?
To install/update Adobe Reader or Acrobat you need to supply your computer's Administrator password.

  • I have Adobe Reader in stalled on my MacBook Pro but the plugin is not showing in FireFox so I am unable to open pdf's in browser. How can I correct?

When I encounter a site that requires me to fill in a pdf form the browser opens in Adobe Reader and not in the browser. I have checked off in Adobe Reader to open pdf's in browser but it still will not.

I do not think adobe reader works as a plugin for Firefox on Macs, ( but a PC user myself so I can not check). See [[Installing and updating Adobe Reader]]
Note specifically comments in the Mac version of that [/kb/Using%20the%20Adobe%20Reader%20plugin%20with%20Firefox?s=pdf+plugin+mac&as=s#os=mac&browser=fx35] about alternative plugins.

I have Adobe reader installed.  However, I am unable to open some files because it is asking for Adobe's approval to open the files. How do I do this please?

That message is NOT from Adobe, and has nothing to do with Adobe's approval for anything.
Quite the opposite: Adobe Reader is NOT YET RUNNING, Adobe aren't involved. Some other app or program is putting out that message. Have you tried giving that permission?

  • Adobe Reader XI Install Error 1325 AI_RecycleBin is not a valid short file name

Adobe 10 worked fine on my computer, when I did the update for Adobe XI I got this error.  I tried a couple of times to redownload and install with no success.  Adobe Reader 10 wouldn't work either.  I did a restore on my computer back before the Reader update and that did not get Adober Reader back to working.
I have been through the Adobe Help & Support, and  Community.  I have used the uninstaller programs and checked anything and everything I found in those two places.  I even tried to install Reader 9 to no avail.
I am ready for some help and ideas?

In your post https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1572490 you show message 'Documents is not a valid short file name'.  Now you have the same problem with AI_RecycleBin?

  • The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player

Hi, I'm having a very hard time installing the newest version of Adobe Flash player.  When I run the installer I get the error message "The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player".  This all started after Flash had given me several popups about a new update, but the update wouldn't install correctly.  Eventually I uninstalled Adobe Flash and I've been unable to reinstall it at all since.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and I do have an administrator account.  I'm trying to isntall the Flahs plugin for Firefox, but it also wont work in IE.  So far I've tried running the instaler as an administrator, doing a clean install and running the installer from another user account (also an administrator).  None of these things have worked, and I can't find any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Download the offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header and save them to disk, then right-click on each installer and select 'Run As Administrator'.
