Do not have option in iTunes for suggested solution.

Have latest version of iTunes, but i cannot sync my iPod. Getting superfun error: "iPod cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist". So i looked up the solution, and everywhere i turn says i need to go to my iTunes preferences->music tab-> radio button for "Automatically update all songs and playlists"
However, my iTunes does not have this option. It doesn't even have a music tab. See screenshot here: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/147/4341307042e806c0913o.jpg
When my iPod is connected, iTunes recognizes it, but the only options i have for it are Open, Eject, Sync Songs, Transfer Purchases and Reset Warnings.
So my iPod is a paperweight.

Have you actually tried selecting and dragging
some
of the playlists to your nano? That's DIFFERENT
than
autosync...
The only thing that happens is i get a black circle
with a line through it.
So what format are the tracks in? Select one and click File>Get Info>Summary and copy the results here.
If you can’t load a song or other item onto iPod nano The song might have been encoded in a format that iPod nano doesn’t support. The following audio file formats are supported by iPod nano. These include formats for audiobooks and podcasting:
AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P, up to 320 Kbps)
Apple Lossless (a high-quality compressed format)
MP3 (up to 320 Kbps)
MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
WAV
AA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4)
AIFF
A song encoded using Apple Lossless format has full CD-quality sound, but takes up only about half as much space as a song encoded using AIFF or WAV format. The same song encoded in AAC or MP3 format takes up even less space. When you import music from a CD using iTunes, it is converted to AAC format by default.
