Do Not Power Down During Update - HP Envy D410

Help!  Has any one had this problem?  My touch screen on my printer is stuck on this message and has been for the last four days.  The internet connection broke during the download and now I cannot get the printer to respond. 
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled my drivers...nothing.  I have done a hard shut down; plugged the printer in elsewhere and still the same message.

so my printer worked for a month and then it asked me if i wanted to install updates. It's been installing updates for three weeks and says not to turn off. I've turned it off several times and unplugged it a few times.  No other buttons work on the screen because i can't get to them.  Obviously it's a software problem but i can't find any updates to fix it.  The guy on the help line said it's a hardware problem and that they'd offer me a $95 discount on a newer model, but it would still cost me over $150 and it would be a refurb. So they have a bunch of these printers that sat in a store that didn't sell and passing off printers not in a new box and then talk to me like i should be so thankful they gave me this wonderful discount for a "new" printer that nobody else wanted when i'm still stuck with a printer i paid full price for and should've been able to get replaced. Now i've really paid over $270 for a printer i'm not even sure i want that might have another bug they can't fix.  It's just wrong.  Anybody know a fix for this so i can cancel the order for a new printer i'm not sure i want?

    Try putting it into recovery mode.
    Connect iPad to your computer via USB while it's turned on.
    Open iTunes
    Hold the iPad's Sleep/Wake switch (power button on the top of the iPad) down until the "power off" slider appears.
    Power off the iPad completely (wait for the progress spinner to disappear).
    Hold the Sleep/Wake switch AND the Home button down for a full 10 seconds.
    After 10 seconds (the second time you'll see the Apple logo on the screen) release the Sleep/Wake switch while still holding the Home button.
    Continue to hold the Home button for another 10 seconds until the USB connection image appears on the iPad's screen, then release the Home button.
    A pop-up message will appear on iTunes saying it has detected an iPad in recovery mode, you must restore...
    Click on the "Restore" button and the process will begin.

    I lost my slide to power down after updating. Now I got to hold the buttons longer than normal and it just shuts off.. Not to mention lost my iMessage & FT(activation pending) problems. Hope theres some fixes soon

    iPad 3 will not power down. Also no information  of any kind is displayed in settings.

    Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    hello WallyWalsh, if this warning is showing up you might have to reset the homepage to the version that is used in firefox 4 & above (the old homepage will show the warning you have referenced). to change it go to firefox > tools > options > general & reset the homepage to the default (that's '''about:home''').

    No, I don't think so. Do a reboot:
    Rebooting your iDevice
    Hold down the Sleep (On-Off) and Home buttons totether for about 10-15 seconds or until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears - then let go of the buttons. The iPad should begin to start up.

    PS - someone on the MOTO forum suggested to make sure you don't have a setting set  that prevents the OTA update:
    Menu>Settings>Data Manager>Data delivery>Social applications 
    Make sure that the Sync over Wi-Fi only setting is NOT checked. If it is than uncheck it and try System updates again.

    Remove the battery. Never mind you cant remove the battery on an Ellipsis.
    Jetpacks often function with E-Ink displays that do not require power to illuminate.  Normally all you have to do to power down a Jetpack is press and hold the power button.  The Jetpack will force itself off after about 5-10 seconds if the power button is functional.  If not then the Jetpack should be sent in for servicing.

    My IPad will not power down and stay off.  It powers down and then restarts after a few seconds.  Since it is on all of the time, it drains the battery between uses.

    Then I think it is time to take to an Apple store to be checked. Make an appointment at your closest store. You can keep it plugged in to maintain the battery until you get it checked.
