Do not see Apple TV in Office laptop
I have one Toshiba home laptop I had to reset Apple TV to make it appear in the list of Devices and did the Sync.
I have a Dell laptop from my work, the Dell laptop from work is part of office domain but I can use it at home too. I do not see Apple TV in list of devices in iTunes of my Dell laptop. How do I make Apple TV appear in list of devices in iTunes on this laptop.

If the Dell is listed in the sources of the Apple TV, then it is functioning correctly. The Apple TV will only show as a device in the computer that it is synced to. It is normal behavior to not show in the devices that it is synced to. This knowledge base article can explain the differences (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305270).

Is it the little black box? If yes then it is the 2nd model. It won't show up in iTunes as there is no syncing involved. The only time it does is when you connect and need to restore the device.

Help! Computer still not seeing Apple TV
No matter what I do, my computer is not seeing my new Apple TV (got it used). I have a ATT Uverse modem and both my G4 (OS X 10.4.11) and the Apple TV are plugged into it. They can both connect just fine, but the computer is not seeing it when I go to preferences>Apple TV. Both iTunes and the Apple TV have the latest software and I even reset the Apple TV to factory settings and re-installed iTunes. I even went so far as to use a wireless modem plugged into one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the Uverse modem and connected both my computer and Apple TV to that modem so they are on the same network.
Is there something I am missing? No matter what I do it is not workingWhile I have a PC, I went through exactly the same problem you are having. No matter what I did, I could not get it to see the device. After clicking on pretty much every possible link, I found a message stating iTunes could not see Apple TV because the Bonjour service was not enabled. Only problem was ... there is nowhere to enable Bonjour + searching for this word through Apple's help had no results. It wasn't until I Googled it that I found a link to download the program (which the book never mentions by the way). The link ironically leads back to Apple's site. Once downloaded, it saw it immediately and worked fine. While a Mac is configured different, it sounds like you need the Mac version of this software.

I have purchased songs with one laptop, but I do not see them on my other laptop. I find my older music, but not the "Purchased" songs.
I have the two laptops authorized, out of a possible 5, so why can't I find my new songs???

They will not magically appear in another location. You purchase on and only one download. it is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music. -
Can not see Apple Pay in Passbook
When I click on Passbook, I do not have Credit and Debit Cards as the selection below shows, All I can see is Passes.
I do have 8.1 and I do have a iPhone 6 Plus.
Thank you for any responses ahead of timeI had same problem and then I looked at this post. However, before connecting to my iTunes, I gave one last try and went to settings -> General -> Language and region -> Region Formats. I had set up my region as India as I use Indian languages for display purposes. However, when I changed the region back to US, I was able to get to the screen in Passbook where I could add Credit/Debit cards. So this was solved. Then I went back to settings, but the Passbook and Apple Pay menu was still not available. So I restarted the iPhone and it took me to screens as if I was starting for first time. After couple of clicks and setup, I was able to see the menu in settings as well. Btw, I am still able to use Indian languages with the region setup as US. So I am not losing my original functionality either.
Hopefully this helps for people with similar setup and do not wish to go through iTunes route. -
Not seeing Apple TV 1st gen in iTunes
I am connected on my guest network because I cannot remember the passord for my main network. Don't know if that could be a problem, but when I went to try to figure out the original password I can't even figure out where to go on my iMac to try and change it! I feel so incapable.
I also keep my iTunes library on my time capsule not my hardrive because it is simply too big so I don't know if that is a problem.
I read the trouble shooter and it said to go into itunes, prefernces and make sure "look for apple tvs" was checked, but I could not find that option. Is that an outdated option?That means I need to get the Apple TV on the main network so I need to figure out the password for the main network (since I seem to have forgotten it ) or change it. Where do I go to change these settings? I cannot find them. Thanks!

A75-209 not seeing CD/dvd drive and laptop loggof few seconds after loggin
Hello everybody,
I got into a " self loggoff after loggin" issue, and I'm not able to restore the computer on any ways. Tried it on Safe Mode with no avail, it appears the window to loggin and after do it after few seconds it starts loggoff the computer.
Tried to reload the software from CD and it doesn't work, actualy BIOS doesn't see it . Any advice, please will be greatly appreciated,

Dan D.here's a thought-check to see what your Startup disk is. It should be your hard drive, also check your cd/dvd preferences in System preferences. oh-I see you have a MacBook Pro. maybe you will have better luck in the macBook Pro forums, this is for the Desktop machines...

Only see Apple icon on the screen
The Apple icon appears on the screen only, the Apple TV (2nd generation) is blinking. Reset produces no result. Any ideas?

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -

My Apple Macbook 13.3" Laptop-Black 2008 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo will not boot up and instead I get a grey screen with a folder and a question mark over it. I've tried Option key, and Control S keys and it still will not boop up. Can anyone help?
If you are running Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If you are running Lion or later:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it isthree times faster than wireless. -
Wiped our old iPad 1 clean, now can't install iOS from iTunes using laptop PC (W Vista). iTunes does not "see" the device. Tried uninstalling and installing iTunes on laptop. Also bought new USB cable. The iPad is charging, but that's all it does. Just want to get it operating again for browsing and e-reading.
OK. You merely erased the content and settings. The IOS is still there.
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures. From what you've already stated, my guess is that you'll end up with Recovery Mode described in the last paragraph.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -

My laptop and itunes are not seeing my ipod classic. the ipod is charging, so it sees the macbook. But the macbook doesn't see it. I have the most recent itunes loaded. the usb connection is fine. I've rebooted the laptop, I've rebooted the ipod. I don't know what else to do. Help, please.

But I have provided you with the specifications of the two screen sizes of both the MacBook Pro Retina and the MacBook Air to compare with the requirements of your apps. One caution I would provide is not to go with the bare minimums required for the app, doing that would not give you optimum performance.

I have an apple iphone 4 that I want to download audio books from my library onto. I cannot figure out how to do that. The iphone does not show up on my mac laptop as a connected device. Does this kind of download have to run through itunes? Thanks
