Do not want to sync apps evertime I sync

Do I have to sync apps on my phone with my computer everytime I sync? When I try to deselect the applications I get a message saying that if I do that my apps on my phone will be deleted when I sync. I use my phone as a go-between my home and work computers and just want to sync my calendar and contacts. I use Outlook on both computers. I really don't need any apps on either PC. Thanks!

In regards to iTunes content including 3rd party apps, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only. Whichever computer that is for you, you need to leave Sync Applications selected under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences, which is the same for Sync Music with that computer. Any apps downloaded with the App store on your iPhone will be transferred to your iTunes library on this computer the first time you sync with this computer after doing so, and the same for any music purchased and downloaded with your iPhone.
If you deselect Sync Applications with iTunes on this computer, all apps on your iPhone will be removed.

Hi Pez,
iTunes in the Cloud is not iCloud. Any songs that you have purchased but have not downloaded (or have deleted), go to iTunes in the cloud. The setting I mentioned will show all of your purchases in the various views in the Music app, whether they are on your device or not. If you turn that setting off, you will only see items that are actually on your device.

How do I get my account to log in again and function properly, I shouldn't have to wait until I have a meagre £2.99 in my account again do I because I need the app store for other apps etc and updating, even if it is only 3 days I want my account back, I do not want nor did I give permission for the in-app purchase and would be happy for it to be returned/credited back so I can have MY account available for my IPhone.
Please can someone give me more information or let me know how else I can get my account working again, before pay day on tuesday.

Guys, I found another user and what he said to do worked!!! I have copied the information below:
This was 1 of the things that happend to me too, the other one was that at the bottom of the itunes page were it says all the memory info, it marked that I had over 3gb of other memory wich I didn't.
Anyways what I did was to unmark the calendar, contacts etc. ( so that they wont sync with the computer ), pressed apply, then I marked all of them again, apply again and for last I pressed Sync wich is at the bottom right coner by the apply botton.
I'm not sure that had anything to do with it but it worked, my music appeard both of my itunes playlists and the ones I bought in itunes. Also the other memory dissapeard and it's all good.
I'm not sure this will help you but thats my 5 cents, if the problem continues its better to call customer service and ask for a technician.

If you're running Windows, try closing iTunes, then right-click on the iTunes icon and choose Run as Administrator. Then try synching again.

Are you trying to say it does sync with one computer but not with another????? If so, this is by design. All iDevices are designed to sync with one and only one computer.

Photo's and apps does not want to sync from iPhone to Windows.

Sign out of iCloud Control Panel on your computer, restart the machine, then sign back in. Your photos should start syncing shortly.

My wife and I both have iPads and two separate iTunes accounts, and do NOT want to share apps

My wife and I share one MacBook. We both each have an iPad and we each have our own indvidual iTunes accounts. That is we have two separate individual iPads and two separate iTunes accounts. I do not want her apps on my iPad, and she does not want my apps on her iPad.
When my wife tries to update her apps on her iPad, it shows my user ID and requests my password. It does not even give her an option to put in her own iTunes account ID and password. This happens even though she is clearly logged in on her iPad under Settings --> Store with her own iTunes account, and have the same setup on my iPad (my own user ID and password for my iTunes account). I do not have this problem on my iPad.
How do we keep our apps separate? This is very annoying!

There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.

You still have to sync the photos. Just select the photo albums that you want to sync to the iPad. You can include as many albums as you want and remove whichever ones you don't want to sync.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select the folder from which you want to sync your photos - usually iPhoto on a Mac
Click on all of the albums that you want to include in the sync
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Any albums that you don't include in the sync preferences will be removed when you sync. So if you want to keep the albums that are already on the iPad, make sure that stay selected to sync.
If you are running iTunes 11 and do not see the sidebar and the iPad name under the devices heading - go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top.

Do not want to sync TV shows to computer

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but I cannot find it. I have purchased and downloaded an entire season of a TV show which I will ONLY watch on my television. I have purposely NOT chosen it to sync to my Mac, but it is slowly, very slowly, syncing all 13 episodes to my computer. I repeat, I DO NOT want these shows on my computer, iPhone, etc. Why does AppleTV do it anyway? Also, my iPhoto photos were synced perfectly yesterday and completely missing today!

the appletv is doing what it is designed to do... ie sync purchased content back to your master itunes library (which is on your pc/laptop).
the appletv should not be used as a primary storage location (it should only have copies of your content).
if the appletv was to fail or require a factory restore, you would lose all your content if it had not sync'd back to itunes.

Q10 Calendar does not want to sync with computer (post operating software update)

I have had my Q10 for close to a year and my calendar has always synced properly. In the last days it no longer wants to sync with a message "Sync was unsuccessful - Failed to commit changes to device". I recently upgraded the operating system to the latest version and I'm wondering if this caused the issue reloaded Blackberry Link as well. All the previous setup is the same. However, when I go to the Configure Calendar page, it indicates "Calendar (This computer only) and I am not able to modify it or delete it This is the correct folder none the less.
I thank you in advance for any help or advice on how I can solve this.

I would highly recommend uploading your calendar to an email/cloud service like Outlook.com and then adding the account to the Q10. The calendar items will sync nicely between the device and Outlook.com. Additionally, you will be able to have that data on whatever device you use, or multiple devices. I made this move a while back and couldn't be happier.

Different devices, one Apple ID - do not want to share apps!

My daughter has an ipod touch, and I have an iphone. We share an Apple ID, so that I can monitor her use. I don't want every app that she downloads to also be installed on my iphone. I am new to Apple products. How do I keep the apps we download separate?

On the the devices go Settings > iTunes and App Store > Automatic Downloads > Apps > Off
In iTunes with the device connected to your computer select the device and navigate to the Apps Tab. At the bottom of the list uncheck the Automatically sync new apps option. This will stop iTunes from putting the apps on your device when you backup.
