Do notifications have access to Internet?

I allowed Echofon to send me notificantions when someone mentions me on Twitter, and I wanna know if this kind of apps (Facebook, Echofon/Twitter, mail...) access to Internet when a notification is received.
I noticed my phone credit has been decreasing and I haven't made any calls nor accessed my carrier internet (I always use wireless connections).
I'm afraid if notifications access to Internet and makes spends money.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I can't explain it better.

I am having the same problem. I have a 2nd generation ipad wi-fi only. All was working great until I upgraded. NONE of my downloaded magazines or rss-feeds are accessible. For the magazines, their icons show up on the "shelves" but once you click on one it wont even take you to the "issues" i have downloaded. it jumps back to the shelf page.

I have been using a Time Capsule as my modem and back up for the last 6 months, suddenly it has started flashing amber light. I have tried resetting, soft and hard, but no success. On reset, the message is that it does not have access to internet.

I have tried resetting, following instructions on Apple support.
2 amber lights are showing, saying no internet, and no dns servers.
On the same network I have direct link to TV, working fine.
The TC does not seem to be able to pick up IP address even though directly connected with Ethernet cable.
I'd appreciate any help possible.

So what kind of modem is it.. is it cable.. if so you need to power it down and leave it off for 30min or so .. maybe shorter or longer depending on the ISP.
Do a full factory reset on the TC.
The Factory Reset TC Gen1-4. Or AE Gen1-5
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Plug into the TC by ethernet from computer and setup as router .. ie dhcp and nat.. if it fails please give info on the firmware of the TC and the actual modem model number.

Meetingplace - Outlook notifications have access # as LOCATION

I create a MP meeting through Outlook and set the Location as LAS VEGAS, when my recipient gets the invite the location shows as Where: MeetingPlace: 123-123-4600 ID: 4049

I think TAC said that this was fixed in version 6.x.
I am running 5.3 with Exchange 2007 (unsupported)..so waiting to upgrade...still not fixed..

Need to disable Norton before access to Internet permitted

Hey there,
I am trying to add a HP dv6000 to my wireless network and when trying to just give it access thru my AP wirelessly I dont have access unless I actually disable NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2007 (even when wired to AP). After disabling it I have access to Internet, even if i reenable NORTON INTERNET SECURITY I still have good access untill I reboot.
As this is not my computer this method of access to the internet is not feasible and just plain annoying. I have permited Internet Explorer (all that is on this comp atm) in the personal firewall and still I have to disable to access Internet.
Any help on how to resolve this would be much appreciated as I'm banging my head on the wall now.
There is a broadcom 802.11 b/g wlan adapter in here connecting to WRT54GS V.4 w/ upgraded f/w.

This is a norton problem. You should ask the norton support for help. I think there was something similar here a few days ago where someone had to allow traffic for the protocol driver in his software firewall to get connected.
Regarding your problem: you are not totally clear whether or not you are able to connect to your wireless network or not. Is the problem that you have a connection established with your router (i.e. the laptop gets its IP address from the router) and you are unable to access the internet then or is the problem that you actually cannot connect to the wireless network at all unless you turn off the firewall?
Are you using wireless security (WPA2, WPA, WEP)? Which one?

I have still not been able to access the Internet from my Nokia 6600 to my PC. I have tried using bluettoth to no avail. Can someone help me. If you have accessed your internet from your Nokia 6600 to your PC please tell me how to do this

I ain't got a Nokia 6600 but all models of Nokia with modem works the same way. I don't advice using bluetooth for connection is rather erratic; use cable. Make sure all configurations of phone from providers are configured like data access points. I presumed you have loaded succesfully pcsuites, in the same way the modem drivers. You can check it in your pc/laptop devices config.
Configure your browser to connect by dial-up connection(tel no. & sometimes user/password from provider), select the Nokia modem(sometimes better to disable temporarily the built-in modem of PC/Laptop if it exist), you'll be connecting by gprs & there is tariff per minute connections more expensive than landline by modem of PC/laptop.

I am in Australia and the ISP... I think both the main ones would fit your description to a T.. big T in particular.
Your router is really unsuitable.. if it is only wireless and no ethernet.. just buy an ethernet one.
Do a search on ebay.. 3g router.
But you can get the TC to join a wireless network.
It is a non-standard setup that Apple will not support.. the option is hidden.
If you are on Lion download the 5.6 utility. Go to the wireless set up page and hold down the option key whilst selecting wireless mode.. a new option, join will appear. You can then put in the ssid and passkey of the 3g router.
But please note the end result of this setup..
very slow speed. The TC is now a second wireless hop from your clients.. this will halve the speed.
In this mode the ethernet are deactived.. for reasons only Apple know, they decided you should not use ethernet when doing this.

I am having some difficulty accessing the internet with Firefox on one of my PC computers. I normally use Mozilla Firefox as my web browser and google is my homepage and gmail is my email system. The operating system is Windows 7. For over a year this system worked perfectly but a few days ago it stopped working. When I launch Firefox now I get the message that that website (www.google.com) is unavailable. In fact, I can’t access any website and I am blocked from the internet entirely within Firefox. My internet connection is fine because Internet Explorer works fine. I can access google and any other website within that web browser. I have investigated all the security issue I can manage and found no smoking gun. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to no avail. Is Windows 7 compromising the effectiveness of Firefox? Any suggestions or other assistance you can offer would be appreciated.

You only have to clone your mac when using certain cable modem. You don't clone your mac when using dsl.

Windows 8 Desktop Mode Apps have no access to internet

I've seen a couple people ask questions about their browsers not working in desktop mode for Windows 8, and none of them were answered. I've got the same problem with mine, however it's any application that runs in desktop mode.
Problem: NO application running desktop mode has internet, games, browsers, chat programs...nothing.
History:
-Was running Windows 7 Ultimate and upgraded to Windows 8, choosing to migrate over all my applications files and personal settings.
-Metro style apps and browsers have no problems accessing the internet
Attempts:
-attempted to reset IE 10 Desktop mode to all default settings, clearing browser cache, SSL slate, and resetting to default.
-attempted to reinstall chrome.
-running CMD prompt in desktop mode, able to ping and use DNS as normal
-Windows 8 defender is disabled, running MS Forefront for AV.
-forcibly set my adapter DNS to a google dns 8.8.8.8
Any idea's what to try next?

hi there rebirth16 i had the exact same problem upgraded from windows 7 64bit to windows 8 pro and my desktop apps would not connect to the internet but the apps on metro did :-s. (strange) i upgraded with all my software and personal files intact im not
sure but some setting or some program caused the internet on the desktop to not connect. after a day of going through the pc my solution was to reinstal windows 8 but selected for it to just keep personal files i.e music pictures videos but not software after
that the finished the internet worked perfect well happy now down side you need to reintal your programs but this is the only way i could fix it.

Is it possible to have a VI "run when opened" when accessed via Internet Explorer?

I am trying to get a remote panel application to "run when opened" when is accessed via Internet explorer. I have multiple remote panel licenses on the server and the VI is Re-entrant. The application works well except for this issue. Having the VI "Run When Opened" via IE is very important to the user. As is, when IE opens, the user must click on the panel image once to get the VI's attention and then again on the start arrow to run the program. Is there any way around this or a way to simplify the process?

This is actually the intended operation of remote front panels, however, we can simplify the operation to meet closer with what your customer wants. Basically, if you were to always have your program run in somewhat of an idle state, you can use the Application Control>>Property node for 'RemotePanel.ConnToClients' property to determine when a user is connected and run the proccess of the program as soon as a connection is detected. When no connection is detected you could have the program run in an idle state. The attached screenshot shows a general way to do this. Have a good evening!

After upgrading to the latest version of firefox. I can no longer access the internet and all traces of Mozilla Firefox are gone from my computer. I have no access to the internet, my home page or my e mails. What can be done??

I have been using firefox for years. I downloaded the latest version and at the conclusion of the down load I was refussed access to the internet. Something about Proxy???? I checked my firewalls and security and they said that mozilla was allowed but everytime I attempt to gain access I am refused. I cant access the internet and I cant download another program to access the internet. I uninstalled Firefox and attempted to reinstall but after uninstalling Firefox I have no means to reinstall because there are no traces of it on my computer and I no longer have access to the internet. No. After I select "Choose" the dialog box expands to provide only three choices. This is a new bug. I have only seen it in the past week or so, but it is maddening. I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
All else fails? Restore it.

I installed 7.1.2 update for my iphone5 and I have problems. I can no longer access the internet on my phone. My wifi is fine, and I've noticed that there is no longer any indication of "LTE" on my phone.

LTE indicates cellular. Tap Settings > Cellular then switch Cellular Data ON.
If your Wi-Fi is working, then you should be able to access the internet.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
* No data is lost due to a reset

IPod touch connects to our wi-fi but cannot access the internet. It functions fine using other wi-fi at other locations just not ours at home. We have 2 other iPods in the house that use ours fine, with no issues....

I have done all the troubleshooting from the support page. The ipod shows that it is connected to our wi-fi and sometimes even shows the ip addresses but it wont let us connect to the internet/itunes store etc... the other ipods in the house use the wi-fi with no issues and this ipod is able to connect to public wi-fi and other location wi-fis and access the internet with no problems. What else do I do?

Thank you for your reply. I have tried your suggestion. Emmm I have an AirLive router, there are so many wires o.O I don't know which one to plug out. I think it is the yellow one which says WAN? But I wasn't so sure. So I tried plugging out each wire and followed your instructions. Sorry, but it didn't work I'm going mad xD! I even tried re-doing your instructions on WAN wire, and it didn't work.
Hmm according to step 4 (Log back into your network using Settings > WiFi > Other. Re-enter your network name (SSID), security, and network password.)
My network name is already available in the list. So I didn't need to do that. Or is it neccesary?

I installed Mountain Lion on my iMac. Now I cannot access the Internet. All the other computers and tablets have no problem. I did PRAM and MC reset, modem reset, etc., all the usual ju-ju. I also cannot connect on my local network to any other computer.

I have been a Machead since the early nineties and set up a half dozen networks, including the one I am using at home to which the iMac mysteriously is there but not. This has me stumped! I am considering going back to 10.7!
