Do numbers docs updated on Mac update on iOS devices?

Updated a Numbers workbook on my iMac. It's stored in iCloud. The update is not showing up on the same workbook on either my iPhone or iPad. What am I missing?

Here is some information on docs and iCloud:

Docs changed/edited on your Mac will not automatically update - you need to do it manually by dragging it to iCloud.com.

  • Pages/Numbers docs on iCloud but not on iOS devices?

    Hello,
I had been using Pages and Numbers for some time and when iCloud came out I synced all my existing documents from both. Currently, they reside normally in iCloud (since I can access them from iCloud.com) but they are no longer on either my iPhone or iPad. I cannot figure out how to get them back either.
My workaround so far has been to download them onto my Macbook from iCloud.com and then put them into iTunes...But everytime I do this the setting for using iCloud (Settings - Apps - Numbers/Pages) changes from Yes to No automatically.
I'm kind of stuck at this point. I've even tried redownloading Pages to see if I would get prompted to pull stuff from iCloud back onto the iOS device.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Same issue here.
    My workaround:
    Email the documents/spreadsheets to myself
Open email on the other device.
    Click the attachment.
Select "Open with Numbers (or Pages)".
I would prefer that they sync automagically.

  • All my mail have disappeared From my mac and my iOS devices. Seemingly from the iCloud server as well. How can I recover them?

All my mail have disappeared from my mac and my iOS devices. Seemingly from the iCloud server as well. How can I recover them?

Well, you can't since the emails are stored on icloud's mail server.  Try this test, using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and check the mail page.  If they are gone, then they are really gone.
Now, I thought I could go into a Time Machine backup and view old emails from a day ago.  Unfortunately, Time Machine doesn't seem to save icloud based email, since regardless of the past date I go to, only the current emails show up, not older ones.  My conclusion is that I wouldn 't be able to recover them from a TM backup.
What had you been doing on the mac or device that causes emails to be deleted?  (I hope you don't have a family member or friend using the same icloud account - they may have deleted all emails by mistake.)

    As described above.

You will have setup issues.. as the latest AC model requires a Mac or iOS device.. eventually apple will release a windows version of the utility.. and the current one does partly work but Apple seem in no hurry.
You can find a Mac or iPad equipped friend to do the setup.. once setup the Windows computer can use it.
BUTT you cannot access it from remote..
Not with windows. You need BTMM and iCloud account. AFAIK even with those you cannot reach the TC.
You can do it manually.. using a vpn. Buy a proper vpn router and use a vpn client on the windows computer.. the TC would be in bridge to the network..
Apple really did not make this for windows.. and SMB access is only provided on LAN access not WAN.

  • ITunes on Windows will not update any iOS-device

I have three iOS-devices. An iPod Touch 3rd gen (ver 3.1.3), and iPhone 3GS (4.2.1) and iPad. It's been a really long time that I remember that iTunes offered to update any of them. iTunes itself has been regularly updating and is now 10.5.1.42. The PC is Windows 7 Home Premium.
So, no updates being offered when I sync the devices, it will always check and say it will check again in a few weeks. I agreed to borrow my iPad to a friend, wiped it, and the moment he hooked it up to his Mac-iTunes, it suggested iOS5. I then decided I need to get to the bottom of this update issue of my own iTunes. I started by downloading the relevant ipsw-files for my phone and Touch and trying a direct shift-restore update. The result is the message: The iPhone ... could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible. Same message for the Touch.
I tried installing iTunes on another computer at home, same message if I check for an update. Same error message if I try using a local file. Tried putting the Touch in DFU-mode, in that case iTunes goes through a lengthy update process, but the result is the same 3.1.3 iOS.
Nothing in the hosts-file about Apple. The Touch and the iPhone have never had any beta-releases or jailbreak code. The only thing I can think of is that I have two iTunes-accounts. My regular European one, and one to the US store. However, the second iTunes I installed is empty of any purchases and only has been signed on with my European account.
Any ideas? Have not tried Apple Support yet...if I can even get it for this old devices...

  • Unable to add additional photos to shared photo stream, not updating on iOS devices either.

I am sharing photos from a vacation with family and I am not able to add additional photos to the photo stream. I set it up in iPhoto on my Mac. I think it originally tapped out for some reason because I hit a daily limit for number of photos uploaded. I had about 440 photos in the photo stream. I went and deleted some photos and now have 350 but the iOS devices haven't dropped down to that number yet. When I manually drag a new photo to add to the photo stream it doesn't add. Any thoughts on how to correct?

I turned off photo sharing in iphoto and then turned it back on and that resolved the issue.

  • How do I access iwork for ios docs stored in icloud on all ios devices

How do I access ios-iwork icloud docs on all my ios devices?
ios 7.1.2 on all ios devices. Have zero access to my icloud docs on mobile devices since ios 7.0.

Make sure you are signed in to iCloud using the same AppleID as used for the files.
Settings app > iCloud > Documents&Data. Make sure each of the iWorks apps is turned on.
Go to the settings for each app and make sure (Use iCloud)
For 2 or 3 above, if they are already on, turn them off and then back on.

  • Cant get .mac mail on iOS devices

I have 3 Apple mail accounts, .mac (primary), .me and .icloud.
I have a macbook pro, an iPhone6+, and an iPad Air.
I can send mail from all three.
I can get mail to all three accounts on the Macbook.
I can receive mail to .me and .icloud accounts on iPhone & iPad
But cannot get mail addressed to .mac account on either iPhone or iPad.
    Using iOS 8
How can I correct this please.

    Hi DavidPerry,
It sounds like the .Mac account is not able to get mail at all on your iPad, and only your iPad. I would use the troubleshooting for iOS mail accounts listed here:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    These steps in particular:
Make sure your settings are correct using Mail Settings Lookup.
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
If you are getting a specific error message there are some listed toward the bottom of the article that may offer additional assistance.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,

  • My iPhone lost sync with numbers after updating to iOS 7.  How do i fix?

I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) with an iMac running OSX 10.9.1.  I have completed all updates to the Numbers app on my iPhone.  I have had no problems with this in the past - files would sync flawlessly to iCloud, my Mac and my iPhone.  Since updating to iOS7 i noticed the files are no longer syncing to my iPhone.  Syncing between the Mac & iCloud are just fine.
On the iPhone, when i try to adjust the settings for the numbers app to use iCloud the toggle button keeps switching over to the off position.  Is this a bug or do I have a setting wrong somewhere?

    @ Settings>iCloud
    1. Icloud account being used
    2. I see the following switches
    >mail
    >contacts
    >reminders
    >safari
    >notes
    >keychain (not a toggle switch)
    >photos (not a toggle switch)
    >find my iPhone
    3. Storage & Backup

  • Itunes will not restore or update any ios device

i have a mac running osx mountain lion, and i have the latest itunes available. Whenever I try to update or restore any of my devices (iphone, ipad) i always get an error 3004, -1, and multiple other errors. I try to change the hosts file to the default but I cannot even though i am the administrator of the mac, and it does not allow me to save any changes.
I have used jailbreaking software and i think they changed the hosts file. I really need this fixed, thanks.

Also my computer is really slow for some reason, i think it may have a virus, but im not too sure, it has been like this for a long time, even accross updates.

  • How can I update multiple IOS devices from one computer without downloading IOS each time

My company is on a VERY slow internet connection, and at the moment we are using a cellular modem to increase our bandwidth.  This connection is a metered connection.  The 1 Gb download for IOS 7 will kill all of my purchased bandwidth, and has a potential to both take a while and/or cost a fortune.  I need a way to update 58 iPhone 4's, 4S's and 5's to IOS 7 while only downloading IOS for each device type once.  We are using iTunes to do this update as the update utility on the phone has caused 3 of our units to crash and lose all their data.  2 of which were bricked and had to be replaced by applecare.  We had a utility for that when I worked for apple a few years ago that used iTunes in this manner, but I am not sure this exists on the consumer side.  Does anyone know where i can look for this solution?

    - Since you have iOS 4.x, the only way to update the iPod is to connect the iPod to a computer and update via iTunes. See:
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
    - If you following these instructions you can update the iPod without losing anything.  WHen you restore from backup as the article says the iPod will also be updated.

  • Best way to update 60 iOS devices?

I have about 65 iPOD Touches, a few iPhones, and 6 iPADs.  What is the quickest way to perform an iOS update?  Currently, we do them one at a time and it takes a few days.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
    You may want to consult this link below;
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/business/resources/
There are enterprise deployment guides available for iTunes and you can download the iPhone configuration utility so you can have more management over the devices and add remote access features.
I believe you can allow users to download the update from their own computer on the network but have iTunes pointed towards one singular update file on the server rather then downloading each one. This would require the end user to play a part in the process.....
There is no real easy way to do them at once if you always to it yourself.... but there may be a better solution for you in that link!
    Hope this helps,

  • Email not updating on iOS devices

I have my regular email account and the iCloud account set up for my iPhone and iPad. Last Wednesday the iCloud account stopped updating my emails. The other account (embarqmail) is fine, just the iCloud account.
I can't seem to find any settings have changed. It says updating, but no new emails appear. Neither my iPhone nor iPad will update the iCloud account.
How can I make sure my iCloud settings are correct?

I turned off photo sharing in iphoto and then turned it back on and that resolved the issue.

  • Brand new Mac Pro - Suddenly iOS devices won't charge

So I've been using my brand new Mac Pro 8-core for about a week now and I've already had 1 force reboot (kernel panic, error 14 page fault) and earlier tonight, when I plugged in my iPhone 4S, its screen didn't turn on as usual after being plugged in... The "charging" icon didn't appear in the phone's menu bar, and neither Xcode nor iTunes recognize the phone as being plugged in. I'm running Snow Leopard with all the latest software updates.
    I've tried:
plugging it into other USB ports
    using a different USB cable
unplugging and plugging in quickly, repeatedly
charging my iPod touch and my wife's old iPhone 3G - they won't charge either
My "old" Mac Pro that this Mac Pro is replacing had a very similar issue... after leaving the computer on for a while and returning, usb devices wouldn't charge, apps would hang, and i'd have to cold reboot. This got progressively worse over time, and eventually "died" when the system crashed w/ a never-ending beachball and wouldn't boot back up. I'm starting to wonder if I should just return it and get an iMac or something since I have a hunch this is hardware related.
Something also weird is that before I plugged my iPhone in, I was using Xcode and had my phone selected as a build target... even though it wasn't plugged it in. (Normally if it's not plugged in, the name will not appear in the list.) Nothing happened when I tried running my app obviously so I stopped the build, then plugged my phone in. That's when I noticed it wouldn't charge.
THEN it gets even worse... while I was typing this, when trying different USB ports, in the process I unplugged my keyboard. After plugging my keyboard back in, it wouldn't work. Cold reboot.
I'm really hesitant to lug this brand new Mac Pro back to the Apple store just to hear them say "The diagnostic test looks ok to me!" and have the issue crop up again a couple weeks later.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this, or have you seen anything similar with your Mac Pro? Again, I just picked this Mac Pro up last weekend at an Apple store.
    Thanks!
