Do refurbished iPods have a new screen

I have been thinking about getting a new iPod touch because my 4th gen doesn't have enough memory for the things I have. I don't want to have to pay full price for a new one. mine is also glitching a lot too, And I don't think I could trace it in for much because it is an 8gb. A refurbished one would be better for me because it is cheaper and I don't need something new or want something used on eBay.

A refurbished iPod touch may or may not have a new screen, depending on what was wrong with it (if anything) when it was returned to the factory. Apple replaces the outer shell and battery when they refurbish an iPod, but anything else is situational.

Plug it into iTunes. If that does not work hold the power and home button untill the screen turns off then let go of the power button but KEEP holding the home button... this should bypass the connect to iTunes screen. Hope it helps.

- Try a reet:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next connect to computer and if it shows in iTunes restore the iPod.
- If the screen is still white, let the battery fully drain and charge for an hour.
- If still white screen it is time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
- If not, the try the reset and connect to iTunes and restore. Also try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

I thinking about buying a refurbished ipod touch 5th generation. I was wondering if the refurbished ipod would have less battery because I don't want an ipod with only a little battery.

Battery on refurbished Ipod = worn or new?

My battery was at 75% and I played 1 game in Real Racing 2 online which took about 9 minutes. After that my battery was at 25%. I know that it temporarily drops to a low level, that's normal. However, with my old Ipod it never dropped THAT low. Maybe to 40% but never so low after playing real racing 2 for 9 minutes. So my question is: Is this just coincidence or does my refurbished Ipod propably have an old and worn battery? I read somewhere on the Internet that Apple also replaces the battery on refurbished Ipods but now I'm not sure. Please enlighten me.

I've been reading through the policy of the refurbished Ipod store but I didn't find anything about the battery. Just the usual stuff, that the device has been tested and so on. Could you please give me a link to it?
I was just being confused that the battery meter drops lower than it used to do when the Ipod is on usage. I'm at 25% battery now and I really didn't do much (9mins of RR2, played some other 2d games for a while and surfing and listening to music).

Refurbished Ipod Touch (8GB) 2G screen not flushed

I just got my refurb (1st Apple product!) yesterday and everything looks find except the screen. When I look at it from the bottom view, I can see the screen not totally flush with the bezel/case. The left side is fine, but the right side is sticking out (1/11 of an inch). From the bottom view, the screen looks tilted. In the dark, I played a video and didn't see lights showing on the right border, so I guess it's not sticking out that much. Still, I want to know if it's a common issue on the Ipod Touch (Refurbished or all?) and if it's worth replacing (How to do that as well)?

There is no 8GB 3rd gen iPod touch (or actually there is no difference between the 2G and the 3G 8GB models).
Only the 32GB & 64GB iPod touch were updated.

I am not sure in your country. In Hong Kong, the service centre will only pack the refurbished iPod with a plastic bag. They would not give us an extra box.

Brand new Touch screen cracks after fall on timber ? Refurbished IPOD ?

Now does anyone have thoughts to this story ?
We gave my daughter a brand new 32 GB white IPOD Touch this X-mas.
Because it is summer here and we spend a lot of time outside she listened outside of the house.
She then dropped it from about 60 cm on the (soft !) timber deck. This was on day 4 after we gave it to her and activated the IPOD.
What happened is that the glass cracked from the left lower corner, radiating over the whole screen.
My house is full of Apple products and I have dropped my Iphone and my own Ipod a couple of times, but never had any damage.
Is falling on a soft wooded deck enough to break the new IPOD Touch glass screen ?
This got me very worried, especially as we have no Apple Shop anywhere in New Zealand, and the retail shop that represents Apple here have me a business card of a dubious guy who would repair it for 180 $ but i would void Apple warranty. That for a device less than a week old !!

That typically ony happens when you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. It is not limited to the USA

I doubt it. Maybe the iPod was dispayed to someone before you purchased it. Since you do not have Apple stores, only reprsentitives, I do not know their policy.

I am deciding if I should (to save money) order a refurbished 4th gen. ipod touch. I previously had a refurbished 2nd gen. touch and had no problems with it.
If anyone can answer these 2 questions, I'd appreciate it...
1. I know a refurbished ipod comes with a new outer shell...does that include a new screen or do I take a chance at getting a scratched up screen?
2. Do they put a new battery in the refurbished ipods, or do I get a partially used battery causing me to have to replace it sooner?
Both of these will come into play as I make my decision to buy one at the refurbed price or full price.

It depends on who you buy it from. If you buy it at a store you can usually ask to use it or which ios it has. If you get one that has iOS 6 you can update to iOS 7 anytime. If you get iOS 7 you cannot downgrade. So in the end, it depends on who you buy it from and if the store/company can tell you.

Googling shows that you have the 1G iPod. For apps you need at least iOS 2. The iG can go as far os 3.1.3 that you get here:

Just be aware that there are presently not that many apps that work with a 1G with iOS 3.1.3

I have a new 32 gb ipod 4 that has a blcak screen. It wont respond to a hard reset, nor does it acknowledge that it is being charged. It was not dropped or damaged in any way. We are out of the country. Help

First, let's make sure that what you call a "hard reset" is a true system Reset...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
