Do (*)speck form fitting cases (covers) inhibit cooling on MacBook Pro        Pros?

I am considering purchasing a (*)speck form fitting cover (case) for my MacBook Pro. Looks like they would do a nice job of protecting the laptop, especially on the road. But I was wondering if it would run hotter since all of the aluminum surfaces will be covered. Anyone have experience with these?

Yes, even though they don't cover the vents, it's still trapping the heat in.
Also it tends to make people careless, they thing the plastic case is going to protect their machine.
Better off getting a padded carrying case, or a MacTruck.
The plastic case looks gimmicky, just going to break off later.

  • Can someone recommend a custom form fitting sleeve or case specifically for the Macbook Air 13inch?

    Hi all,
Anyone have any reccomendations / suggestions please for a tight form fitting case/sleeve or messenger bag specifically for the MBA 13? If such a thing exists...
I have searched through this discussion community with regard to similar queries but what I have discovered is that many sleeves / cases are more universally geared towards facilitating a number of small profile 13 inch laptops and for a MBA13 inch, this leaves pockets/gaps of air or fabric unfilled and the MBA is "loose" as opposed to being held steady which I dislike.
Even the majority of the Apple branded cases/sleeves advertised for the MBAir appear to be useable for either the Macbook Air / Pro. I'm not looking for the hard shell Speck type cases as I prefer the protection of a sleeve/case, just that I previously had the old white 13 inch unibody Macbook and bought an incase bag which fitted the laptop in a glove like fashion. I'm looking for something that fits the bill now for my new MBA?
Have purchased the below but dissappointed as the laptop feels lost in it...

    Thanks

Ive seen and played with most all the zippered strapped cases, and most all of them are awful.
it still ended up back at the Incase strapped case, very thin, but very well padded, well made and the perfect all around choice.
id recommend getting a like new used one for $25 on ebay rather than $60 new.  But as you wish.

$20 , Incase used like new , perfect choice.
    same case new is $60

  • Do cases/covers for iPad mini 1 fit iPad mini 2 with it being 2mm thicker in depth?

    Hi
Just wondering do cases/covers for iPad mini 1 fit iPad mini 2? Only some people say they do, some say they don't what with it being 2mm thicker in depth & having an extra microphone?
    Thanks in advance

To be sure stop by the Apple Store, tell them you're thinking about getting a mini and you'd like to see if it would fit  in your case. Don't try it without first asking.

  • Will the Speck See Thru Case Fit in the Tucano Sleeve?

I just bought my MacBook Pro 15" and would like to keep it in prestine condition. I have two questions:
    1. I want to protect my new purchase as I will be traveling with it, taking it in and out of my work bag, usage around the house, etc. I read the reviews and I think the Speck See Thru will support the daily usage but I'm wondering if the Tucano sleeve will support the compression in my workbag. I love the look of the Tucano Sleeve (sleek in nature: http://www.tucano.it/US/)and would love for them to work together. So, simply put...does anyone know if the Tucano Sleeve will fit over my MacBook Pro with the Speck See Thru case?
    2. I can't decide between the clear or the black case. I like the grey look of my MacBook Pro...but is the black a solid black or truly see thru black (almost smokey)?...I think black is a slick color as well.

Yes, the 'Specked' MacBook Pro does fit in the Tucano sleeve that I have (i.e. the Second Skin one)
I have the clear speck case as I love the look of the MacBook Pro's anodized aluminium case but then again, I have not seen the black one and so I cannot comment on it.

  • Suitable Prog For Printing VHS and DVD Case Covers

I'm trying to do with Tiger in my MacPro what i'm used to doing in OS9.2.2 and OSX.3.9 which is produce DVD and VHS case covers with printed material usually frame grabbed from relevant films in FCP then titled up to finish off the product. The covers then relate to the film content.
The prog I used has long ago been left behind somewhere with no hope of my finding it so I've been accustomed to taking a past finished one then altering it in Quark Express (from where I think it originated) and my question is, does anyone know of such a programme to be used in OS10.4.8 on my MacPro. At the moment I'm labouriously copying appropriate stuff from any film into 0S9.2.2 order to use the prog I still have there.....
    Thanks for any input.
    Ron

    Hi Ron!
There are a lot of possibilities, depending on how complex you want them to be, and how many $$ you are prepared to spend.
Adobe Illustrator does a great job, but so does Word: make a three column document, adjust them to fit the front, back and spine of the DVD case, and away you go!
Virtually any graphics program has templates for doing this.

  • Speck See-Thru case for MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15 inch

Hi, I recently purchased the Speck See-Thru case for the MacBook Pro Retina. The case seems to fit very snugly and requires some degree of force to remove. The top half of the case proves to be more difficult than the bottom half. Is it normal that it takes some force to pop off the tabs of the case? I am probably over worrying but just want to make sure. Thanks

I have a Speck see-thru for mine and yes, they fit quite snugly. Probably to prevent a "rattling" feeling that would feel even worse. As time goes by and you inevitably have to take it off every so often to clean underneath, the snugness goes away.
Yes, in spite your best efforts, dust somehow finds its way in there and gathers in the corners which soon becomes unbearable and off it has to come. Guess that's the downside of transparency.   Maybe next time I'll get an opaque black model....

  • Case covers for macs

Have any of you used the Speck hard shell covers or Satin covers for your mac? If so can you tell me your experience with the cover I hear people saying that they still get small particles inside their case which have scratched their macbook aluminum. Thanks in advance

I use Speck covers. I have never had any small particles get inside. Did these people say where these small particles come from? That's a new one on me.
My Speck covers (I have 2) are not even scratched up after traveling half way around the world and back. I am very careful on where I place my computer when I use it. I paid too much money for this thing to be careless with it. Accidents do happen though.

  • Is the "Unlimited Forms" in FormsCentral covered under my CC subscription?  or do I have to also upgrade the FormsCentral to get unlimited forms / responses?

Is the "Unlimited Forms" in FormsCentral covered under my CC subscription?  or do I have to also upgrade the FormsCentral to get unlimited forms / responses?
Im signed into my account on Forms Central, but it is still telling me I only have one free form and need to upgrade to the annual Adobe Xl Pro package to get unlimited forms / responses.  This isnt included in my monthly membership price for CC?
    Thanks,
    Derek

FormsCentral won't help with flattening a form. You could set up the form in Acrobat so that the fields are set to read-only, using JavaScript. Not quite the same as flattening but it's the best Reader can do.
Note that when Reader is used to e-sign a document, it gets flattened, but this won't be possible if you need to Reader-enable the form and under certain other conditions.

  • Print of jewel case covers

When I print jewel case covers I experience the following issues :
    - The song list is OK, but first song does not show song number, so it looks like below example
    Song A
    2. Song B
    3. Song C
    4. Sonc D
    - The front cover mosaic shows white squares for some songs, instead of the cover art.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated
