Do streaming video plugins have to use TCP/HTTP transport ?

Can browser plugins open UDP sockets ? all the video plugins I know of are TCP/HTTP based, but I don't know if that is a requirement of operating through a browser.

I just tried to connect with both the Xbox and the blu ray player, no luck.
Yes, that is disappointing.. can you briefly borrow the router from your neighbour and test it again.. I would really like to see what happens when you put the netgear back and pull full ipconfig /all from the computer. Or another router of any kind.. if your modem is also a router completely remove the TC and see what happens.
The Xbox360 won't even recognize the PC at all.  I thought for sure this would work as the Time Capsule is completely out of the picture, or so I would have thought.
What can change when you swap router??
Windows can change.. here is one I missed in the previous suggestions.. windows can jump from home location to work or public without telling you, simply because you changed router. Jump into windows PC and make sure the location is set to home.. turn off the firewall even. Turn off ipv6 as the TC is ipv6 capable and that could mess things up.
Even turn on the guest account with full permissions.. and see if any of those things helps.
How do I set the IP for the blu-ray and PC to something other than the default?  I tried to do that through the AirPort Utility in the Time Capsule.  Network->DHCP Reservations->+  That lets me put in the MAC address for the device I want to reserve, but it only allows me to change the last bit of the address.  So it grays out the 10.0.1 and only allows me to change the last number.
No, you cannot do it via dhcp.. you set manual IP address.. in other words, open the PC networking.. go to TCP/IP properties and change from auto to manual and set IP as I indicated. You do it directly on the PC and directly on the bluray and xbox.. not via dhcp.

My iPhone keeps freezing when I am streaming videos. How do I fix this.

    Hello Jennings Castle,
It seems your iPhone is slowing down and not responding frequently. To rectify this issue you may want to consider performing a restore on the device, and then restoring your data from a backup via iCloud or iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your backup, you would then want to consider restoring the device and setting it up as new. Below I have linked to article which offers guidance on both of these restore methods:

How can I us internet if none available in home.  Have cable tv, no computer, concerned about racking up datga charges when renting movies, or streaming videos.  Have a cellular data plan, but too expensive for movies.

You need to add Internet to your cable plan and your provider will give you a modem. Then you plug a wifi router into that to get wireless Internet to your iPad.

  • Streaming video from iPad to Apple TV using Airplay

    Hey there,
I have the following problem which I havent been able to fix. I have an Apple TV (2010 model) and the latest iPad which I use to stream videos on my TV using Airplay. Everything seems to work fine, I am able to stream and whatch movies on my TV using my wireless network.
However, as soon as I purchased a movie and trying to stream it to my apple TV, I am only able to stream the audio through my Apple TV while the video is shown on my iPad. Both my devices iPad and Apple TV are updated with the latest software.
Is there anyone that shares the same problem or have a solution to this? As I said, only when the movie is being downloaded while I want to stream it on my Appe TV, I am only able to hear audio through my Apple TV. As soon as the movie has downloaded, I am able to stream both audio and video to my TV.
Thank you so much for your input.
    Sebastian

I have just experienced the same issue with the same setup and its very frustrating.
Wanted to watch a movie (Airplane 2), but couldnt find it when browsing directly on the Apple Tv, so switched to iTunes on the iPad, found the movie, and purchased it. I was thinking thatnwhen I purchased it, the movie would appear in my library and I'd be able to start playing it as it downloaded. I realised quickly this was not the case, and that it was just downloading on my iPad, so then I thought, well thats okay, I'll just start playing it on my ipad and airplay it to my Apple TV.... Which is where I met the same as yourself. Only the audio plays when trying to airplay a movie thats downloading. If I try to airplay mirror, I get the message ""the connected display is not authorised to play protected movies". Great.
So I've had to wait for the entire move to download, and now it airplays from ipad to AppleTV. I also then had to do a Transfer Purchases from iTunes, to get the movie into my library. Not very intuitive really and very frustrating when I wanted to watch the movie quickly.

Without knowing the specifics of the camera you are working with it is impossible to give you advice on what your code needs to do. For instance, to obtain an image do you connect to the camera or does the camera expect to connect to a server? If you connect to the camera is there a specific protocol you need to use to request the image? Generally in networking there is some application layer protocol required for two devices to communicate with each other.
I don't have much expereince with IMAQ itself to answer your question as to whether there are VIs that already do this or not.

Download the Flash Player Uninstaller and Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers) by right clicking and selecting "Save Link as".
    Close Firefox.
    Run the uninstaller.
Run the installer to replace the plugin.
    Open Firefox and click Tools>Add-ons.
Check under Plugins that Flash Player is "always activated".
If it still won't load, check your other plugins. There may be an ad blocker that's preventing it.

  • Dashboard widget with streaming video breaks after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Hi.  I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  Under SL, I had an OS X widget that was a web clipping of a streaming mpeg image being produced by a Linksys/Cisco WVC54GCA web camera.  When I brought up the dashboard, the OS would start streaming the data from the mpeg filename, which looks like "hostname.com/img/video.mjpeg".
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I noted that the widget never fully loads, indefinitely displaying a "Loading Clip..." mesasge.  After deleting and re-adding, I can still get as far as adding the web clipping to the dashboard at the right dimensions, but there's no content.
Unfortunately the camera unit doesn't provide for the display of HTTP access logs, so I can't see if there's an issue there, but my understanding is that if I can display the image in a Safari browser, it should work just fine in Dashboard too.  (I did make sure that, where needed, the username/password for accessing the video are included in the URL.)
I did sniff the network traffic between my system and the camera host, and show that video traffic starts flowing between the two as soon as the widget is brought up.  So, it's almost like the widget doesn't know when to stop "loading" and start "displaying," perhaps because the HTTP request is never truly "done."
Can anyone speculate if something may have changed in Mountain Lion affecting the ability of web clipping widgets to display streaming video?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi James
I have exactly the same problem with the same "Loading clip" then blank.  I have been trying a lot of stuff to get this working, but haven't had the chance of sniffing the network traffic as you have done.  By reading what you said about the traffic seems to be flowing without the picure being displayed makes me even more puzzled by this.  I never had a streaming video while  I were using Snow Leopard, but I had a still-image, as I also do now in Mountain Lion.  I recently began to research for a way to display the video.cgi MIME image that my camera produces, and I've also concluded that this should be an easy task for the dashboard web clip function; the video does display in safari after all.
I suspect that our cameras uses the same built in webserver solution written by a "Steven Wu".  Cheap webcameras frequently uses his script with MJPEG (stream of JPEG pictures) to avoid the expensive licenses of using other video codecs.
I read this a bit down at this site: http://channel9.msdn.com/coding4fun/articles/Everyone-Loves-Babies-Webcams-and-M otion-Detection
Have you come any closer in your research?
I have started to think that maybe I have to write a dashboard widget on my own to accomplish this.

  • CP5 and Streaming Video

We are thinking about setting up a server to stream video and have no idea how this is done.  So I guess I'm looking for any information.  I've read a little about the FLASH Streaming Video Server but I've also seen the discussions of issues folks have had using it.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Susan

    Hello Susan,
You can host your videos using some server or application and can embed the Hosted path URL in Captivate's inserted Vidoe properties.
I would suggest you to read and explore the possibilities you have with streaming video in Captivate --
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/tag/streaming
In case you face issues with that, check this Blog which speaks specifically for problems arising with URL structure and how to modify it to make it work.

  • Video slide bar doesnt work with streaming video

I am converting from progessive video to streaming video. I am using a streaming site.  the video plays fine through when called up in preview or published but the silide bar doesnt work for the video (backwords or forwards in the video)...works fine in a progressive download.  I am using fv4.
    Any Ideas?

I had no problem getting the video to stream inside my project...my problem is that when I use the "insert a fv or fv4" feature and insert the proper link, captivate uses a different player (the video shows up in a separate window in the slide) and the player doesnt have a progress bar.  The progress bar in the skin itself will not (the player that comes with the slide) operate.  Therefore, all I can do is start and stop the video....I need a working slide bar so the student can navigate ( especially backwards) the video....any Ideas?

  • FLVPlayback and streaming video

I am reading about the different between progressive and
streaming video on the web. I want to use FLVPlayback to play
streaming video. In Flash help, to use streaming video we have to
create a connection to server right? And the code to connect to
streaming video on the server (FCS or FMS) is:
    nc = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect( url);
    ns = new NetStream(nc);
    ns.connect();
Also in the Flash help, in the FLVPlayback section, how to
play video using FLVPlayback is shown, but I could not see anything
related to the connection or NetStream variable as the above code.
So how can the FLVPlayback play streaming video? Could anyone help
    me please?

Unless the video is completely downloaded to the iMac you can not rule out the Internet connection.
Since it plays all other video with no problem the downloading stream would seem to be the source of the problem.
I had cable modem and it is no guarantee of a fast connection. Also even having a fast connection on one end doesn't mean that the source of the video is pushing it all that fast.

  • Live Streaming Video

I am working on developing a capability for two client
programs to teleconference through a Flash Media Server.
I need to be able to support high quality video, 640x480 at
30 fps. I began by following the tutorial in "Beginner's guide to
streaming live video with Flash Media Server 3 by Tom Green. The
    website is
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fashmediaserver/articles/beginner_live_fms3.html
I was able to use the Flash Media Encoder to save video to a
file and play it back in Flash. I ran into some trouble when I
attempted to stream live video following his example. I published
from the publish settings dialog. This resulted in the html and swf
files being created. I next opened the html file to attempt to view
the video stream. The Flash Media Encoder is running and streaming
video to the Flash Media Server. When I opened the html file I got
a message box that says Adobe Flash Security. It said "Adobe Flash
Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation." It said the swf
file is trying to communicate with localhost, an Internet-enabled
location. There is a settings button that is supposed to let you
allow the application to communicate with the Internet. When I
clicked on it the settings manager did not open as expected but a
dialog stating that an ActionScript error has occurred. It says
    Security Error #2028.
What this ended up meaning was that I had to add the swf file
to the trusted list in the settings manager.
Because my browser was blocking popups I was unable to see
the settings manager to be able to address the
problem. I turned blocking off and was able to see the
settings manager dialog. In the settings manager dialog I was
able to add the swf as a trusted file. When I did this it
    immediately worked.
There is a time lag in the client program though of about a
second and a half. I don't have any ideas yet on why this is. Maybe
this will go away when the encoder is removed. I need to be able to
have the client programs connect and publish directly without
having to run an encoder on each client site. Does anyone know if
this will fix the lag problem or if there is something else I could
    do to fix it?

    Hey freinds,

  • Updated to IOS7, can no longer zoom in on videos I have taped. Any suggestions?

After updating my iPad (3rd gen) to IOS7, I can no longer zoom in on the videos I have taped using my iPad. I used to be able to just pinch out on the video, and then play it. Has anyone else had the same problem? This presents a fairly large problem to me.

The loss of the zoom on video is killing me as a coach! Need this feature. Is this an over sight? Please tell me it is. Why take away a feature that is so great... Love to get some feedback from apple support   Yes or a no that's what I need to know. Yes an oversight or no this is not going to come back..

The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
