The widely-used measures are:
- 300 PPI for sharp hand-held print, examined closely but without magnification.
- 200 PPI in a pinch. No data to spare, but skillfully-handled (sharpened) can be as good as 300 PPI. Most people won't notice a difference between 200 PPI and 300 PPI
- 150 PPI if you must. Effectively the lower limit. Difference will be visible to all. Can still be made to look good, but requires careful "up-res-ing".
These numbers are independent of the type of printer or the make or model of the printer, or the use of the print.
Of course, if the picture is being hung of a wall and not seen closer than arms-length, than those numbers are too high. It depends very much on the viewing distance. (The billboards on the roof of the former light-industrial building where I keep a studio are printed at a PPI that is less than one*. The images and letterforms on them look sharp from the highway.)
A4 is 8.27 in × 11.69 in. The rest is arithmetic.

I solved it finally. For your infor, I'm using php version is 5.4.3 and MAMP 2.2. Here are the changes:
1) Open php.ini
    Look for 'extension=php_fileinfo.dll' and remove ;
2) Download GNU file package for windows from http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlinks/file-bin-zip.php.
    Extract the zip file.
3) Copy 2 file from the extract folder ../share/file/magic and ../share/file/magic.mgc and paste in folder php/extra/magic
     folder. (Create the magic folder as new folder).
4) Stop MAMP all services and start services again.
This will work for you !

Skipping the search for linked images

Hi all
My indesign document have 250 images. While I have moved the indesign document to different server. All the images are missing links now. While I am opening the document indesign looking for image links, this process is cosuming more time to open the document.
I want to just skip the searching for linked file and open the file. I will relink them afterwards.
Skipping the search for linked images while opening the indesign file is prossible?

Show inside dynamic text the title for multiple images on mouseover

I have 25 animated movieclips dragged on the stage and they have similar instance names for easier manipulation purposes inside programming using loops. The instance names look like this: image0, image1, image2 and so on.
Each time I go mouseover on one of these unique images I want to show the unique title of that image using for all titles just one dynamic text container named imageTitle.
I have succeeded to make this work image by image but this would require me to copy paste and modify for each image the following code.

Question: The above code would work but seems redundant to me. Since I have similar instance names (image0, image1, ....,image24), how can I put this code inside a loop or something in order to work for all images without repeating this code 25 times.

Adobe flash player keeps crashing after everything listed in the help page was applied

What is the Search for:- All images/All documents/all movies for in Finder

I am confused as to the purpose of Search for:- All images/documents/movies in Finder. I seem to have documents, pictures and music I have never seen or downloaded, and often photos I have actually downloaded are copied in triplicate sometimes more. I have at times got 10,000 items in my documents in Search for? My worry really is does this all take up memory on my computer and if so why is it happening and how do I stop it?
I do hope someone can explain the purpose of the Search For?

Thanks Kappy, I had thought that is what it probably was but just confused by all the items I never searched for or downloaded. Now that I know it doesn't take up any memory I shan't worry about it. When I deleted everything from the search for files all the photos in my iphoto and documents were also removed. (thankfully I always have my stuff backed up on hard drive) I guess one just shouldn't remove them? Is there a safe way to clear it out without loosing the stuff I need to keep?

IPhoto rotates images in slideshow even though the thumbnail for that images has the correct orientation.

This problem seems bizarre to me considering iPhoto 11 has worked with out a hitch since I upgraded from 09 ages ago. The photos in my album suddenly changed orientation from landscape to portrait and vice versa and sometimes upside down. I first notice this problem after I tried to click and drag a large number of photos directly from iPhoto to Finder. I did a Command-A to highlight all the photos from my album and tried to drag them to a folder in Finder. There are 34,000 photo in this album but only half were copied, (I guess 34,000 items is too much for Lion to copy all at once). I tried fixing this orientation problem by highlighting all affected photos and selecting "Revert to Original" which fixed the orientation of the thumbnails. But when you double click on a thumbnail to view the pictures or view the album in a slideshow, some of the pictures still have the incorrect orientation but most were corrected. Also if I double click on an affected photos to edit it with iPhoto image editor the image suddenly orientates itself correctly. Then as soon as I close the image editor and view the photo or start a slide show it's displayed with the incorrect orientation again. How is that possible that all my thumbnails are orientated properly but when I view the photo it's rotated sideways or sometimes rotated upside down? Any help or insight to my problem would be much appreciated.

Revereting to original will not fix the problem. When you invoke that menu option iPhoto will read the file again, see the tag that tells it to rotate the file and will rerotate it.
The most reliable way to fix this is to rotate those file before they are imported into iPhoto. Upload from the camera to a folder on the Desktop, rotate those that need rotating, rename if desired and import. I use Xee for that because it can rotate the file losslessly.

Right click on the file and choose Get info. In the Get info field will be Open with where you can select the app to open that file. You can also select to open all similar files with the chosen app.

Filling out IPTC Core information to be the same for all images?

How do I fill out all the IPTC Core info so that any and all images I load into Bridge - that info stays constant - such as 'Creator' 'Country' 'Phone' 'Copyright' etc. ?

Image Processor doesn't get me what I'm after.
Photoshop has the option to create a contact sheet. So imagine that I want to create a contact sheet of images, but keep them on separate layers, and be able to change the size of the images as I feel, to fit my collage.

What's the fix for "missing (image) files" that won't save?

I keep re-entering some images on my iWeb site & save them, only to find them "missing"????

How are you adding the images to iWeb - dragging them onto the page or onto a Photo template?
Where are they missing from - the published website? If so, try publishing to a local folder...
