Do The Settings Stay With The Ipod Or The Computer?

If I go to another computer and enable disk use under Ipod options in Itunes will it still be like that when I take it back to the original computer?
Windows XP

If you enable the disk use for an iPod, the iPod will act partially as a removeable device (i.e.- jumpdrive). If you connect it to another computer, the iPod will come up in iTunes and as a removeable drive under my computer. You can connect your iPod to almost anything from your computer to Elmo from down the street's computer to even your friends Xbox 360. So in a more direct answer to your question, the iPod will keep the disk use on constantly until you disable it no matter what computer you attach it to (as long as it's PC format and not mac).

  • Capacity issue with syncing iPod to new computer

Trying to sync my 32 GB iPod Touch 4th Generation to my new laptop after updating my iTunes library.  Took all of my music from my old computer and added it to the new one through home sharing and added some new songs.  Have tried to sync my iPod now that all of the new music is on my new laptop, but I keep getting a message that I don't have enough free space.  However, the amount of music I'm trying to sync is actually less than the capacity of the iPot.  Is the sync trying to add the music libraries together somehow?  I thought it would erase what was on the iPod and replace it with the music on the iTunes library on my new laptop. The error message says: "The iPod cannot be synced because there is not enouch free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library." Any suggestions??

So you have stuff on your iPod that right now does not also exist on the computer? If so, you need a way to move the stuff off the iPod onto the computer, correct?
    If so...

  • Problem with multiple iPods on one computer

I just got a new Ipod and since my computer's internet is down I'm using the computer my mother and brother use for their iPods. We each have our own user profile on the computer. However when I plugged my iPod into the computer for the first time it synced all the music from my brother's library into my iPod. I had thought about just restoring it, but I am affraid doing that might erase all of my brothers music. I logged into his profile to comfirm that he had logged out of iTunes and he was. So I'm not sure what the problem is. How do I fix this? I really don't want my memory wasted on his music.

Just restore the iPod it will not effect the contents of iTunes.

  • Multiple users with different Ipods on same computer

My household has one general computer that is used by myself and my two teenage daughters. We don't use separate logins because it is used mostly to just go online, check our email, and use Itunes along with updating our Ipods. This works fine for us except that we have different Ipods. My girls have the Ipod Mini's and I have the Ipod (with video screen).
My question is this: Can one computer (running WinXPProSp2)authorize two different Ipods under the same user name? Also, can two (or three) different Ipods be "authorized" on the same computer?

Yes, your not really authorizing ipods, you just authorize a PC to play songs you buy from iTUnes. Once its authorized all ipods can play the song that connect to it.
You can separate the music that is loaded to each iPod (Like your music only added to your ipod and your girls ipods only updating there music to there ipods) By creating your own playlist and setting the ipod to update them. • Help with two Ipods on Same Computer

I have several questions in this one thread...
I have two Ipods (Mine and my wifes). We each have seperate user names on the PC. I have all my music in the Public Folder, Music, Itunes. I have both Itunes preferences setup to share libraries, I have both setup to use that as one library, and I have considated the libraries. So the problems:
    1. How can I insert a new CD we own and have it be in the library and both Ipods sync it? I placed a new CD we own and it is syncing to my ipod, but not my wifes. I confirmed it is in the shared folder.
    2. Can you both use the songs you purchase on Itunes? It is saying no when I am syncing hers for songs I purchased on my acct. But I thought it could be on 5 different devices.
Thank you for any help. I have searched high and low and I am sure the solution is here somewhere, but I keep doing what I find with no success.

If the old iPod works, the new iPod will work.
    Simply plug it in.
Create a new playlisy with the songs you want.
    Open iTunes orefs -> iPOd.
Select Automatically update only selected playlists.
Select the playlist you just created.
    That is all.

  • How do i get two ipods on one computer

Ok How can I share songs with two ipods on one computer!!! Help PLEASE !!!!!!!!!1

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Windows accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look anyway and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

  • How do i transfer videos i record on my ipod to my computer

How do I transfer my videos that I've recorded with my ipod to my computer?

There are several ways, but the easiest way would be through dropbox. Its a free app and gives you the ability to transfer files to a server and can be accessed by ANY computer device that has internet. There is a limit of 2G of storage. There is a paid option to get more room. You can move the file(s) this way and if you need more room, just remove the transferred file and continue on. The 2G is at any one time, not how much you transfer.
There are a lot more options for Dropbox that you can check out. Great service. Well, bonus on your part. I have not had a reason to apply on a ipod so I checked on the site and yes it does work on an ipod.

My iPod touch is not charging, nor is it syncing with my commputer and iTunes. It will charge on the wall charger, and in the car, but not on the computer. My wife's iPod Nano syncs on the computer. I went in and reset my iPod Touch back to factory settings and now it will not let me get in unless I sync to iTunes on my computer. Well, it still will not connect thru the USB cord. Does anyone know what I should do to get this corrected? I want my iPod back.

  • When importing a CD to iTunes which will then be downloaded onto a ipod, which is the best setting format for sound quality?Im unsure if once i save setting for CD import, do i then have to change settings to sync with my ipod?

When importing a CD to iTunes  which will then be downloaded onto a ipod, which is the best setting for audio quality?  Also once CD is downloaded do i need to change the setting to sync with my ipod?

I'm not sure what settings you are referring to. If you mean the import CD settings, there would be no point in changing them after importing the CD, would there?
As for the best setting for audio quality, it's down to your preference. Many people will not hear the difference bewteen one setting and another. The best thing to do is import the same song several times using different import setttings (and change the song title so you know which one is which) and then listen to them on your iPod. Then decide.
Unless you have specific reasons for using the WAV setting, don't use it. It will use up a lot of space on your iPod and you cannot tag WAV files in the same way as the other formats.

  • My ipod stops or pauses while I am walking...I am using the nike sensor with my Ipod.  Will it pause when I stop walking for a period of time?

I have purchased the nike sensor to use with my Ipod touch.  I tried it on the golf course and it kept pausing after time.. I tried the different ways to work out eg basic, timed, calories...but it kept pausing after a short distance.   Is this because you stop and start with golf?  Is there a setting I can adjust?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
