Do the users on these Forums know?

     Do the users on these Forums know that you can click on their user name and see a list of all their postings? Try it some time and then tell me how much your worried about the supposed issues some of them are complaining about. All they're doing is detracting from the ability of the communities to help with  legitimate problems of the users who are not just trying to stir up trouble withfictious problems.

excellent observation. When I first started, new members like yourself couldn't report posts, but I have heard that you can now. If you see them (and can report them), report them as trolls and the mods will help clear out the kruft...

    I have been getting frustrated using the search on these forums. I find the content very useful (especially as I cannot seem to find any other forums for Oracle Portal) but the search facility is very poor.
    Firstly, the Search will on search for an exact match in the body of the messages, not the subject at all! This is very annoying as people usually sum-up there question in the subject and often do not repeat the subject in the message.
    Secondly, the search looks for exact matches of your search string, so searching for more than one word become difficult. Bascially, it does only an exact match, not a word search, so forget about using keywords to search on as you would do in every other search engine and be very carful of the order of your words, you'll get a completly different set of results by swaping the order of your words... :(
    eg. Selecting "ALL FORUMS", try searching for "Customizing Change Password Page". no hits? ok try "Customizing Password" still no hits? ok try "Customizing the Password". still no hits? ok just try "customizing". You get 10 Pages of 20 (Oracle conviently puts them over 10 pages so you cannot view them all on a html page and do your own secondary search using CTRL-F). Well, this is too many, lets just try "Change Password". again 20 x 10+ pages. At least this time we've got some that also have the work customizing in the subject. If only we got here on the first search... Don't even think of adding the word "PDK" or "Example" to your search...
    I have already provided feedback to Oracle on this matter (and am still waiting for a reply). If you would also like the search improved, please also send Oracle some feedback and make this forum more useful. If enough people pester them they might think it's important enought to change. link below:

    Besides all the incorrect/bad English, is lack of information of which version
    Forms/Reports are being run.
    And even when you do ask, you still don't get a response.

    I agree with ThrashZone, delete the temp files as well as some browser history, cookies, form data, Internet Options\General\Delete...
    Reset IE if possible if the above doesn't work.
    Sometimes, too much traffic on your internet connection can also cause this kind issue when loading the website

    Something I do that helps readability is block the site use.typekit.com by an entry in my hosts file:
    0.0.0.0 use.typekit.com
    This causes the web page to avoid using the prescribed Adobe font and fall back to using Arial.  Here's what it looks like at 150% browser zoom, which is what I perceive is what you have set, up above...
    It also may make things load faster, since the adobe-clean web font doesn't get downloaded.  The downside is that you don't see things precisely the way the Adobe marketeers intended.  In this case it may be a Good Thing.

Now I will invoke a method on change of this drop down and it will return the name of the choosen Participant ID. Can any body help me to write tha exact code to retrive the exact Name in BPM 10g.

  • What is the user scope when created with the API?

    I noticed that users created with the Adobe Connect API for my meeting/account are always listed in the Administration -> Users and Groups area.  Which probably means that a user's login is only valid for my meetings.  So if they wanted to register or join a meeting controlled by someone else, they would have to re-register or be re-created by that admin.  Is this correct?
    I'm trying to confirm this so that I know how to register a user on my website.  It would be ideal if my website would register the user and also log the user in without the user having to enter a separate password (my website would generate and store the password).  If the API creates a user only for my meetings then this is not a problem.  The user will just always have to go through my website to get to the meeting.  However, if the user created by my Adobe API account can be used to access/register in another person's meetings on Adobe then this approach is not so good because the user would need to know their password.

    yea, guest registration is not an option as I need to restrict access to the meeting.
    My main concern is that another Connect account holder can change the user's password.  If this ever happens, my website would have an old password and would be broken because it wouldn't be able to log the user into their meeting.  This may be a rare case, but the website will be charging for these meetings/webinars.  If the user can't get in at the time of the meeting....  i'll have a lot more problems.
    I guess I'll just need to provide a way for the user to change or enter their own password.

    I am building a report where in which I require for a given position and catalog who are the users and these users are Directly assigned or  Excluded or Inherited.
    If Inherited from which position it has been inherited.
    Now that I got the list of user for a Catalog id , and I can get the attributes for each users through FM BBP_READ_ATTRIBUTES
    But this FM fetches the attributes Inherited excluded or directly feild too, but it is not correct.
    I want to know whether is there any way where we can find the given user has inherited this catalog and from this , so same as this user has direct assignement to this catalog or this user has been exclude for this catalog.

    The table ET_ATTR of the function module  BBP_READ_ATTRIBUTES will provide information about the Inherited, Default or Excluded status.
    The following are the appropiate Indicators.
    INH_STATUS - Inherited
    DFT_FLAG - Default
    EXCLUDED - Excluded

  • User menu not showed in the user's default language

    Hello,
    I'm having the following problem:
    3 months ago we installed the French language in our systems,becuase french users are going to use our SAP Systems. The installation was done succesfully in client 000 and then was suplemented in English in clients 000 and 100 (the productive one). Everything was ok.
    We have created french users and we have assigned them roles that we had before the installation. When we log with these french users in french, the user menu in transaction SAP EASY ACCESS is in english and not in french (even the SAP standard transactions).
    If we create a new role and we assigned it to the french user it is ok.
    So we have problems with roles created before the installation of the French language.
    Does someone know how we can correct the problem? We need to use this old roles.
    I hope someone can help us as soon as possible, because I can't go on creating the user with these problem.

  • Can't Post in the User Tips Library

    Hello,
    I just recently achieved Level 2 ranking status in the forums. For some weird reason, I can't post in the Tips Library. I click on 'Post New Topic', and it asks me to log in. I had already logged in, but I do it anyway. I type in my password, and click Log In. I am back in the Tips Library, and now logged in. When I click 'Post New Topic' again, it asks me to log in again, although I am already logged in! It is an endless circle.
    I really want to contribute!

    The approved posts are moved to the User Tips Library. In other words, you can't post there; the Hosts move your approved tip to that forum.

  • I have followed all the steps to fix this problem, but I do not receive texts on my new Galaxy 4 from iPhone users.  I tried everything I was told and found in these forums.  Still no luck.

    I switched to Verizon in March 2014, from AT&T.  I traded in my old iPhone4 for a Galaxy 4.  Ever since, I am not getting text messages from anyone who has an iPhone unless they WORK for Verizon.  I have deleted my phone from my apple profile and I don't own any other apple products.  I switched to an Android because I was tired of Apple's proprietary ways.  It seems not matter what I do, and I have done EVERYTHING suggested here on these forums.  No luck. I am so frustrated.  I have a very large family and almost everyone else has an iPhone.  Even if they don't, I am not getting all their messages.  I like the new Galaxy, but believe I have made a huge mistake switching carriers and phones, even though I hate Apple products.

    Yes, but then it all has to be done using a script. You can't use the built-in Open A File command.

    Wouldn't it be a nice idea if all users of the java-forums were able to upload their java code and add it to their user profile so we all can share our precious code?
    In other words, if I'm looking for a special type of tree that isn't implemented in the SDK I would only need to search the users files for an "tree" and all users having uploaded sources associated with "tree" would be visible and available for me to download.
    What are your two cents in this matter?

    lets say there are 100000 users.
    lets say that every user posts 3 files.
    each of these files is approx 2KB.
    then summa sumarum = 100000 * 3 * 2 = 600000 KB = ~585 MB
    plus the extra bandwidth for the traffic, and some other stuff like DB and stuff...
    It'd NEVER take more than like 20GB...

    I am in the process of expanding a database of chemistry journal articles.  These materials are ideally acquired in two formats when both are available-- PDF and HTML.  To oversimplify, PDFs are for the user to read, and derivatives of the HTML versions are for the computer to read.  Both formats are, of course, readily recognized and indexed by Spotlight.  Journal articles have two essential components with regards to a database:  the topical content of the article itself, and the cited references to other scientific literature.  While a PDF merely lists these references, the HTML version has, in addition, links to the cited items.  Each link URL contains the digital object identifier (doi) for the item it points to. A doi is a unique string that points to one and only one object, and can be quite useful if rendered in a manner that enables indexing by Spotlight.  Embedded URL's are, of course, ignored by Spotlight.  As a result, HTML-formatted articles must be processed so that URL's are openly displayed as readable text before Spotlight will recognize them.  Conversion to DOC format using MS Word, followed by conversion to RTF using Text Edit accomplishes this, but is quite labor intensive.
      In the last few months, I have added about 3,500 articles to this collection, which means that any procedure for rendering URL's must be automated and able to process large batches of documents with minimal user oversight.  This procedure needs to generate a separate file for each HTML document processed. Trials using Automator's "Get Specified Finder Items" and "Get Selected Finder Items", as well as "Ask For Finder Items"  (along with "Get URLs From Web Pages") give unsatisfactory results.  When provided with multiple input documents, these three commands generate output in which the URLs from multiple input items are merged into a single block, which yields a single file using "Create New Word Document" as the subsequent step.  A one-to-one, input file to output file result can be obtained by processing one file at a time, but this requires manual selection of each item and one-at-a-time processing. What I need is a command that accepts multiple input documents, but processes them one at a time, generating a separate output for each file processed.  Is there a way for Automator to do this?

    With the project all done, i'm preparing for the presentation. Managed to get my hands on a HD beamer for the night (Epason TW2000) and planning to do the presentation in HD.
    That of course managed to bring up some problems. I posted a thread which i'll repost here . Sorry for the repost, i normally do not intend to do this, but since this thread is actually about the same thing, i'd like to ask the same question to you. The end version is in AfterEffects, but that actually doesn't alter the question. It's about export:
    "I want to export my AE project of approx 30 min containing several HD files to a Blu Ray disc. The end goal is to project the video in HD quality using the Epson  EMP-TW2000 projector. This projector is HD compatible.
    To project the video I need to connect the beamer to a computer capable of playing a heavy HD file (1), OR burn the project to a BRD (2) and play it using a BRplayer.
    I prefer option 2, so my question is: which would be the preferred export preset?
    Project specs:
                        - 1920x1080 sq pix  (16:9)
                        - 25 fps
                        - my imported video files (Prem.Pro sequences) are also 25 fps and are Progressive (!)
    To export to a BRD compatible format, do i not encounter a big problem: my projectfiles are 25 fps and progressive, and I believe that the only Bluray preset dispaying 1920x1080 with 25 fps requests an INTERLACED video  (I viewed the presets found on this forum, this thread)... There is also a Progr. format, BUT then you need 30 fps (29,...).
    So, is there one dimension that can be changed without changing the content of the video, and if yes which one (either the interlacing or the fps).
    I'm not very familiar with the whole Blu-ray thing, I hope that someone can help me out."
