Do u have to wait to your mac is almost died to charge it

do u have to wait to your mac is almost died to charge it

As Kappy states - No.
You can leave your Macbook plugged in all the time if you're close to a power outlet.  It won't over charge your battery since it will stop charging once you're at 100%.
You'll also notice that, even if your Macbook is plugged in, your battery will discharge to about 95 - 94% and it'll charge it back up to 100%.
Do not wait till you're down to 10% of less - not good for your Macbook - search this forum and you'll see  a few people having issues after their batteries got fully discharged.
Good luck

First let me make it clear my iMac is running native OS X 10.8.5 and all Adobe Creative Cloud Apps are install on the iMac running natively in the OS X system environment. I only have Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac installed to run Microsoft Office software in Windows 7 when needed (because PowerPoint for Mac sucks big time compared to the PC version)… absolutely no Adobe CC Apps have been installed on the Parallels virtual PC environment.
I have been having problems with Creative Cloud Desktop not updating so I uninstalled it and tried to install the latest version from Adobe. I then get the following error:
    We've encountered the following issues:
There seems to be a problem accessing a critical file/directory during download. For troubleshooting tips. please visit our customer support page. (Error code: 204)
    [retry] [cancel]
This has happened all last week. Because we have been so busy at work I waited until the weekend to contact the 24/7 chat support.
This was going well. I was sharing my desktop with the agent who was adjusting the permissions of some folder. The problem came when he launched chrome on Parallels and not on the MAC and tried to install the PC EXE version of CC desktop. When I pointed this out to the Agent he instantly stop the screen share and stated in the chat box that virtual computers are not supported and I must find my own solution without giving me an opportunity to explain.
Every time I tried to start the chat again I was cut-off while trying to explain that Adobe CC was running natively under a native OS X and the Virtual PC was a separate to this
Only after my 4th attempt (having per cut an pasted my arguement into the chat box) did a get any further. The Agent refused to continue to try and fix my problem but did say the Adobe engineers are aware of the "204" error
Has anyone else had this "204" error installing Creative Cloud Desktop or can  direct me to a solution it would be much appreciated

Unfortunately I am still getting the 204 error
I download the Creative Cloud Desktop App at home and brought it into work to install — which failed
I then tried to install the same file on the only Mac in the office not on Creative Cloud and it installed with out any problems
I then tried plugging my iMac into the same ethernet socket incase it was a problem with the ethernet socket. No luck it still had the 204 error
These are the Adobe download log files which show errors but they me nothing to me

  • I just downloaded the latest software OS X on my mac book pro, now whenever I start my computer I have to wait for windows mac to open up.  The open at login is not even checked.  How can I stop this from happening?

I have a Mac Book Pro and downloaded the latest software OS X.  Now whenever I start my computer, I have to wait for Windows Mac to do its thing.  I checked and the "open at login" option is not checked.  How can I turn this feature off?  It's driving me nuts!!

All fixed Barry.  When I went to restart my computer, the question was right there.  Do you want to open Windows when opening.  NOPE!!
I tried it a few times and thank goodness it worked.  Thank you for your help today.
    Best,
    Michelle

  • HT4796 I´m trying to migrate from my old PC to my mac, but in the migration assistance of my PC, the legend "waiting for your mac to connect" continues ever for ever, never appears the passcode. What can I do?

The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
Senuti Mac Only (Currently only the beta version is iPod Touch & iPhone compatible)
    PodView Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
TuneAid Mac only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    Floola Mac & Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Do you have to turn off your Mac book pro ?

Do you have to turn off your Mac book pro ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you aren't going to use your MacBook for days, turn it off to save battery. If not, you can leave it in sleep mode. Sleep mode doesn't consume a lot of energy and allows you to start up your Mac in seconds, being faster than turning on the MacBook, so it's better to leave it in sleep mode

  • Migration assistant waiting for your mac to connect

I'm trying to utilize the migration assistant to migrate from Windows XP3 to a new iMac.  The migration assistant connects and shows me the selected XP machine, but the XP machine is stuck on "waiting for your mac to connect."  I've confirmed both machines are on the same subnet, I can access the folder shares from the mac, etc.  Uninstalled Symantec Internet Security, disabled windows firewall, made sure firewall is disabled on Mac, no stealth mode on router, etc.

  • HT3204 Why can't I update my ipod version 2.2 to version 4.2? I have an updated version of Mac Os snow leapord, an updated version of iTunes but I  am still getting an error message. I have a cart of 30 ipods and none of them will update.

I am trying to upgrade an ipod cart of version 2.2 ipods to 4.2 so that I can download apps that
require this version. When I try to update any of the ipods I keep getting an error message that
culminates with an error -1. I cannot believe that they all have hardware errors. Any ideas of what to
try next? I have an updated copy of Snow Leopard with all current updates and an updated version
of iTunes with all current updates.

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke.  Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that.  Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what  I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people
which isn't good. However, that hasn't happened...YET. Let us hope that it doesn't

  • Why do the preorder people have to wait?

Why do we have to wait for our phones if we preorder our phones? We should get our phones before anyone else does since we ordered first. We should be able to go to the store tomorrow and get our phones instead of having to wait until October.  Will Verizon please respond to this question since they didn't respond to my other question.

Yes, this happens at Verizon, this happens at Apple. Shipments get delayed by factors out of control of Verizon/Apple. If you did your research, you KNOW this can and does happen at EVERY iPhone release. You can be upset all you want. It is not going to change your situation.
If you pre-order through Apple, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc... and your shipment is delayed, you would have the same situation. Verizon is not alone in this.
If you choose to pre-order and your shipment is delayed, you SHOULD have to wait for your pre-order unless you want to cancel your pre-order and take your chances in the store. THEN you could get shut out at the store and have to wait even longer.
    mjnnc wrote:
    What's the point of preordering
I say that to myself every time this comes around. Because people are impatient, they have to feel important. I have gone into stores each and every iPhone release and seen stock each and every time. Personally I DON'T see a point in pre-ordering. Seems you feel differently.

  • "Your Mac OSX startup disk has no more space available for application memory" - uploading files problem

    Hi everyone,
    I'm running a late-2012 27 inch iMac - 3.4GHz Intel Core i7, 32GB 1600 MHz DDR3 with the 3TB fusion drive, OS 10.8.4. At present there is 1.92TB of available storage.
I have received this message "Your Mac OSX startup disk has no more space available for application memory" just before a full on crash multiple times in the past couple of days whilst using WeTransfer to send over some large files (500MB+). The applications I have had open at the time have been: Activity Monitor, App Store, Firefox, and Finder. Over the course of uploading the files, the active system memory has gone from 1.04GB and steadily increased until it more or less maxes out around 29GB, at which point the Page Outs rocket up to around 40GB/s and the swap memory fills up pretty quickly until the computer basically can't take any more and blacks out.
This is a pretty new thing, haven't really had an issues before. My main software used: Sibelius 7 & Logic Pro X. I've also recently started working with Final Cut Pro X, which seems to have been struggling at points. I've tried closing everything, restarting the computer and not opening anything (specifically NOT FCPX) before attempting an upload. I've even gone so far as to remove FCPX from my system, and yet the problem is still recurring. Both "kernal_task" and "WindowServer" have been running high on CPU when these problems have occurred.
Does anyone know what might be the issue and how it could possibly be resolved?
Really appreciate any help, I'm in the middle of a fairly sizeable project and the deadlines are just around the corner.
    Thanks,
    Tom

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory. That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The process named "Safari Web Content" renders web pages for Safari and other applications. It uses a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider it a prime suspect.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

  • I'm 17, can I use apple finance to purchase a MacBook or do I have to wait until I turn 18?

I'm at college, and really need a laptop ASAP as our computer has just completely crashed and I really need it for college work. I'm 18 in 2 months and would wait until then but I have alot of coursework to do before then and a laptop would make life so much easier. I have a part-time job and earn enough to pay back the money each month, but I'm not sure if I can use it being under 18? I've looked all over the site but can't find anything on minimum age.

You'll have to wait till your 18. You will have to sign a contract. In the United States people under the age of 18 can not sign a contract. And if you do sign a contract, the contract can not be enforced. Have your parents sign for you.

  • Do you need to protect your Mac online?

    Hi,
I seem to see more items on the news these days cover hacking etc and with Macs as popular as they are now expect that they are now also more of a target than perhaps previously. Frankly I loathed the systems we had to use 6 years ago on the Windows based machine and although I am sure they are much better now, I am looking for advice on three things:
Does a Mac need protection and what kind (is it really effective?)
How is the iPhone and iPad protected?
How can I reliably check my machines are clean
I have looked around but a bit lost for the trees to be honest...
Many thanks for any advise or views on this noting that I have gone with the Cloud thing, although I do not store everything on it (i.e. no docs and no backup yet).

Regarding #1, see my Mac Malware Guide.
As for #2, note that there is no malware for any iOS device, except for devices that have been jailbroken.  So security in general is pretty good, though you've got to worry about potential privacy issues with individual apps or how you use your phone (like whether your photos posted to Facebook have location info embedded in them, etc.), phishing attempts in e-mail, questionable web sites, etc.  All these things are issues for any electronic device that connects to the internet, regardless of platform.
As for #3, your Macs are almost certainly clean if you have kept up with all updates.  (If you haven't, run Software Update ASAP, as there's an update that can remove one piece of malware that's going around right now.)  However, if you want to scan it for malware anyway, after reading my guide, you can use Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition or ClamXav, both of which are free.

  • Had desktop Mac Pro set up with recent operating system there is a message that say setting up your Mac on the screen do I have to wait for the this process to complete or is there a way out of this screen?

I took all of my devices in to the apple store in ridge hill in Yonkers, the rep helped me set up the new operating system on all my
Devices from my phone to my desk top tower at home. I powered up my desk top this morning and a message came up saying that
The system did not recognize a program that was not compatible with the new operating system and it went right into "Setting up your Mac"
Mode. Do I have to wait for the setup or is there a way to by pass this process?

I think maybe wait for a bit. Usually, on startup and installing the new OS, the assumption is that the user might not know too much, and that compatibility must be checked, which may be helpful, or not.  For now, I'd say ignore it, wait until it's done its thing, then update the program that's not compatible. If you can, Mr. Brown, find out which one isn't "making nice" with Mavericks. Hopefully it'll give you a name

    OK.
How is your computer connected to the internet? Wireless? Wired?
What kind of internet service do you have where you are (cable/DSL/dialup)? If you're not sure, run a speedtest from another computer (preferably wired to your router). I use http://speedtest.net. Don't click any of the ads that claim to "Speed up your Mac". Write down and post the download and upload speeds.
Do you have an Apple Store near you? If so, you could go there to download the OS. Or find a location (an office? school?) that has faster internet.
