Do u know compressing setting for authoring HD DVD?

that's not disable to play.T-T
well, I make some movie from FCP (HDV format by Sony HC-1)
then compressing M2v&h.264..
then Authoring from DSP. I made HD DVDformat from preference.
then it's success.^^
But.
the DVD is disable to play (even menu title) in another MAC.
I guess the reason that cause in compressing settings.
Help me.

HD DVDs will only work on G5 Macs and H.264 requires QuickTime 7 for playback. Specifically Apple says the following:
"Playback of DVD Studio Pro 4-authored HD DVDs requires a G5 processor, Mac OS X v10.4 and Apple DVD Player 4.6 or later"
Also, DVD SP's HD DVDs will not work on PCs or standalone (set-top) DVD players.<small><hr width="75%"><small>If this suggestion helps in any way, a confirmation or acknowledgment would be appreciated, since that would also help others who may be having the same difficulty. • DVD Compressor setting for use in DVD Studio Pro

I'm trying to create a playable dvd that has using dvd studio pro. However I want to compress the .mov file using compressor first. I've tried several setting, ut I get the same blurry text and graphic results.
What's the best setting for a hi quality dvd, the same quality has professional dvds.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The best one you'll get with Compressor is DVD Best Quality 90 mins. Tweak it any higher than that and you run the risk of drives refusing to play the disc.
You can't make it look like a professional DVD because the pros don't use DVD Studio Pro. They use significantly more expensive software and encoding hardware, and the discs are replicated, not burned.

  • Compression setting for videos

    HI,
I have 15 HD movies to put into my iBook.
Do you know the .mp4 compression settings to optimize my video for iBooks Author?
What's the best best to compress these down for full screen viewing?
    Many thanks,
    Elaine

720 wide looks good on screen. I'd experiment with the bitrate so you get small file size without unacceptable picture degradation. You'll have to experiment, I'm afraid, because the amount of compression you can apply without too much loss of quality depends very much on what's in each video.

  • Best compression setting for SD video on iWeb 09 for instant start

I've posted a website that has video clips on it and the video's play fine, but take about 2 to 3 minutes to load. No one wants to wait that long to watch a video. 3 of the video's are 2 minutes long and the 4th video is 7 minutes long. Is there a different setting in compressor that will keep decent video quality and allow the video to start playing as soon as possible. The current size is only half size and it still is taking a while to load. Thanks for your help.

  • What's the best compression setting for exporting video to DVD?

My QT self contained file from FCP is 13 GB (1:02 min long) when I use DV NTSC while exporting. When iDVD finished encoding it, it went down to 3.4 GB (that includes video files in my iDVD menus).
*Since the DVD media is 4.7 GB can I make better quality DVD by lessening compression while exporting from FCP?*
I don't think there is a way to tweak compression in iDVD. And my second question:
*Is "self contained" file better quality than just a reference file?*
*I would like to make the best possible quality DVD and am looking for some tips on what settings would help me achieve it.*

    Hi Joby,
    Compressor is what you need.
Import your file, choose DVD best quality 90 minutes from the settings tab (lower left window in Compressor). This will allow your movie to be converted as MPEG 2 and ac3 dolby stereo (best compression for DVD audio).
The inspector window (lower right window) will allow you to decide/arrange settings as you like.
If you are not sure about best bit rate choice use the [Bit Budget|http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/bitbudget.html]
As you can see the inspector window offers a range of customizable settings if you are not familiar with those the manual (main menu>help>user manual) will answer all your questions. Simply type a word or definition in the search area and most likely the manual will provide the info you seek.
Self contained means that you create a file with exact copies from your original frames and edit on the timeline, a self-contained file becomes independent from your timeline. A reference movie as the definition says totally refers to your FCP project and wouldn't work on a different machine without referenced media files.
There is no difference in quality between the two QTmovie options.
    Hope that helps

  • Compression setting for Quicktime to Keynote

I created several quicktime movies in lossless format. I need to be able to play them in Iwork Keynote program. The lossless is way to big. What format should I choose when rendering out the quicktime movies to keep them at a good resolution for projection but small enough to be handled well in Keynote?

Is that how large your monitor/projector is?
That is the size it will be projected.
Another thing you can try is rendering at half that
size and scaling up. For some older codecs, that
still gave acceptable results, maybe it'll do the
    same for Keynote.
We are trying to avoid scaling up because of quality issures.
Also, make sure that you have the "Let others use the
screen" parameter turned off. This adversely affects
    any onscreen movement.
    Where is that parameter found?
Thirdly, does the computer have Front Row installed
    on it?
No...not sure why that would have anything to do with how keynote is playing back a quicktime movie.

  • ...best compression settings for a 12minute dvd

...other than 90 minute preset... and would it yield a better video? And what are the best settings for large screen television? The video is standard definition but anamorphic 720x480. Thanks

You can raise the average bit rate to 6.8 and max bit rate to 8. I use this setting a lot. Below is the bit budget worksheet I use. Though it tops out at 7.8 for max bit rate, it's ok to go to 8 in Compressor.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/bitbudget.html
As far as the large screen question, I believe you are stuck at 720 x 480 because that is what standard def allows.

If you want to play your dvd on a big HD tv you need a dvd-player with upscaler otherwise it will look awful.
Use DL or export your timeline directly to mpeg2-dvd.

  • What is the best export setting for burning a dvd?

I am trying to export my senior thesis to a DVD, I've never burnt a DVD before and am using Adobe Premiere cs6.
I used a Canon7D 24fps to film and want the best quality of video and audio possible.
ALSO, after I've exported it, are there any other steps I need to take before burning it to a DVD?
    Please help!

The best quality will be using an x264 encoder in CQ mode to create a Blu-ray.
Next best is exporting using an H.264 Blu-ray preset for creating a Blu-ray.
After that, exporting a lossless file for MPEG 2 conversion using the free HC Encoder using CQ mode, which will end up on a DVD.
Last in the quality lineup, export using an MPEG2-DVD preset, changing the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively.
    Avoid Dynamic Link.

  • Setting for best quality in compressor

    Hi.
I'm running FCP 5.1  and Compressor 2.3.1.  For best quality videos on youtube I've heard it's a good idea to max out the free space they make available to you.  What are the best settings I should use in Compressor for maximum quality uploads to youtube?  Also what's a good setting for good quality video with a smaller file size?  Also I should note most of my videos uploaded are of short duration 1 minute to 5 minutes.  I've been using the settings DVNTSC and it's okay but maybe there's something better you can recommend?  Also I tend to use Toast to burn DVD's.  What's a good setting for best quality dvd's?
    thank you!

For Youtube encoding, read these: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/you_tube_redux_gary.html and http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/you_tube_hd_gary.html
Keep in mind that the more compressed the file is (smaller file size), the lessor quality.
As for DVD compression, I've always found Toast's encoder to create poorer quality DVDs than Compressor or DVD Studio Pro.  The best method would be to export a self-contained or reference movie from FCP (Do NOT use QuickTime Conversion), then import that file into Compressor.  Use the DVD preset in Compressor that best matches your movie's duration.  You can duplicate and adjust presets as needed for your particular movie.  Compressor will create the needed MPEG-2 video file (.m2v) and Dolby Digital audio file (.ac3).  Import those two files into DVD Studio Pro for authoring and burning.

  • The setting for packet size (RSCUSTV6)

    HI Guys
i want to know the setting for packet size (RSCUSTV6). can i do in production . or dev.
    i want change as
    Packet size = 20000
    FrequencyStatus-Idoc = 5
    please advise on this.
    Regards
    siva

    Hi Patel,
This will impact all the loads in the system as this wil change the parameters for all the loads.. And hence its always recommended to reduce the data packet size at the Infopackage level...
Also u can do the settings for the ODS Activation process as well using this RSCUSTV6 t-code.
Better chane it for the specific job.
    thanks
